I've been renting houses in this area every summer for 10 years, and this is by far the best experience. The place is really everything you'd need on a stay in this region. The location is perfect, a real Ligurian mountain setting and yet very comfortable distance to the sea, you'll drive out from the house and 20 minutes later you'd be diving in the Mediterranean. If you don't feel like driving down, the pool and the bar area is just perfect to spend a day in. The wievs from the pool and from the terrace just outside the living room is breathtaking. You see the beautiful little village of Seborga in the foreground, then Monaco and then the whole French coast line. We guessed that the last light house we saw at night must have been St Tropez. One evening we enjoid, from the terrace, the spectacular fire works in Monte Carlo, celebrating the wedding of the Prince of Monaco... The house, the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms were all clean, well equipped, and had everything we needed. And if there was something we needed extra above that, our new best friend, Sabina, the owner, had it taken care of in an instant. She and her husband were so welcoming, friendly and helpful, it really felt like staying with friends.
If you know the region and haven't been in Seborga, you really missed something. And if this part of the world is new to you, it's a perfect location from witch you can easily reach and enjoy everything the area has to offer. Monaco is 30 minutes away, Nice, Cannes, Antibes is a bit further, but still less than an hours drive away. Ventimiglia and Bordighera are the closest coast towns and offer great beaches, shopping and food and wine. One of Italy's best wine shops, Enoteca Re, is located in Dolceacqua, just in the next valley from Seborga. San Remo is a short drive away.. And of course, the medevial village of Seborga it self is a beautiful place to discover on foot, and to eat in. We can't wait for our next visit!
