No communication. Listing not accurate.

The house is beautiful and comfortable. It has everything you would need. However, the listing said 6 bedrooms and 4 full bathrooms. We were 4 adults staying here and we expected a queen or king bed and a bathroom each. But one of the suites was locked and we didn't have access to it. So one of the adults had to sleep in a twin bed and share a bathroom, while someone else got a king suite with full ensuite. Very awkward. The listing also said parking on site, but when we arrived we had a message saying we were not to use the driveway and had to pay for parking on the street with a 2 hour max. When I messaged the host asking about these issues I got no response and still haven't. We managed with what we had, which was fine for one night, but it's not what we expected based on the listing. We had invited a couple of people to join us since we (thought) we had extra rooms, and it's a really good thing they didn't accept. We suggest getting very clear information before you book.

Great Stay

House is clean and well equipped. Lots of space for a large group of coworkers in town for a conference. Easy walking distance to downtown restaurants etc.

Beautiful home (with some communication lapses)

Tough to review this home because it’s one of a kind, and absolutely beautiful. There seems to be a gap with communication though with the host through the VRBO platform. I had to go through VRBO customer support to get in contact with the host for check-in info. I asked questions leading up to the date and had to go through *another_booking_service* to hear back (with mixed results). Another renter showed up at the door claiming to have rented the same property. Turns out it was miscommmunication and they had a bunkie on the back of the property, but it seemed they also were missing check-in information. A member of my party forgot something at the rental, I reached out to the host but never heard back.

Great experience for our Family trip!

This was a wonderful stay for our family! There was so much space for the 6 of us and wonderful sitting and eating areas. The kitchen was large and well-equipped. Such character in this old and well-renovated/updated home. Just had a bit of challenge communicating with the host with no reply whatsoever through the VRBO App messaging system after I messaged them several times. Had to resort to phoning twice for receipt of the door access codes well after we should have had access to the home. Overall, a great place to stay and a wonderful experience for us!

Absolutely beautiful home with tons of space for all of our family of 8

Appreciated the numbers of bedrooms and bathrooms in this home for our large group of 8 (ages 12-73). Laundry facilities and fully stocked kitchen were nice to have. Great location- within a shot walk to downtown restaurants, shops and river bank. Would definitely recommend for larger groups and would stay here again.

Great location

Location was excellent, property was perfect, very clean and well maintained. Booking and communication wasn’t great as the owner was not aware of our booking and arrival. Luckily it wasn’t double booked, I would recommend confirming directly with the owner instead of relying on VRBO.

Exceeded expectations

I stayed at this property with a group of friends and it exceeded our expectations. It is beautifully renovated and well kept. The house is huge and had more than enough space for everyone to sleep comfortably. It is in walking distance to lots of fun things to do downtown. I would highly recommend this property.

Lovely Historic Home

Fantastic home stay for our family traveling through Moncton. Kitchen had basic supplies and cooking ware. The neighbors and neighborhood can be very loud at night, just FYI. The home's location in Moncton is perfect for exploring the city's attractions and getting to nearby areas, and the neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, offering a relaxing retreat after a day of sightseeing. We also loved the unique touches throughout the house that celebrated its history.

Great experience overall

property was located at a nice and convenient location. It was very clean and decorated well. Our group enjoyed two night stay. We couldn’t locate remotes for AC units on the first day and had to open all the windows in night for getting it cooler so we could sleep. The host was responsive and helped us find the remotes next day morning. Driveway had enough space for 3 car parking su we didn’t have to use street parking. Overall, wonderful experience.

Family vacation

This house is amazing! We had a party of 11 and we could not have asked for a better property. It’s within walking distance of shops, restaurants, parks and grocery stores. There is plenty of space inside and a quaint, fenced in back yard. The property owner was easy to get in touch with and responsive to all my questions. We would highly recommend this property!

About the host

While travelling to Moncton for business in 2017, I came across this listing of a beautiful red-brick house in the city’s downtown area that was used as a shelter for women. I felt in love immediately with the building after I drove by it on Highfield street. I asked my sister to come on board this project to renovate this large beautiful piece of real estate so we can operate it in the short-term rental market. I’m glad she said yes. Today this home which was once a shelter is completely renovated with modern amenities with the old world charm for guests to enjoy.

Why they chose this property

This property speaks to my heart because of its history of being a shelter for women. Supporting women and girls have been a charity for me.

What makes this property unique

Its architectural features and the beautiful stained glass foray/entrance and windows.
