Charming house, okay location, terrible bathrooms
This was our first stay in Sydney and we did not rent a car. We planned to take the bus or train to get around and visit the CBD and surrounding areas. While not terribly inconvenient (10 min walk to Newtown rail and 5 min walk to high traffic bus street), I preferred to be closer to the rail line. Across the house was access to a nice park and green area. Directly next door, we enjoyed a solid coffee shop for our mornings. The house itself has a lot of charm and touches. However, much of the interior and furnishings (such as the bed and sheets) felt older and dated and probably need to be replaced. The worse part of our stay were the bathroom, specifically the showers. All three showers had terrible designs that lead to water getting the entire bathroom floor wet for different reasons. In one, the drain was higher than the tile so water would leak out of the bathroom into the hallway. In another, the drain was practically clogged so we stood in our own bath water. There were no good choices even though this house has 3 baths. There were positives and negatives and ultimately, we wouldn't stay here again because of the bathrooms.
