About this property
NEW!! White Oaks Gazebo by lake -Nature & Solitude
Due to popular demand, we have added 2 more gazebos to our over 100 + acre property. ( see original Lakeside gazebo for reviews ) This Stonefield Estate Gazebo called The White Oaks is located in our old white oak forest, between beautiful woodlands, meadows and a pristine private lake.
Breathe in the fresh air, reconnect with nature and give your body and soul a well deserved break. Let the peeper frogs lull you to sleep and the distant call of the loons be your wake up call.
The space
The 3 gazebos on our property are about a 3 to 5 minute walk from each other, so privacy is definitely not an issue. This particular luxurious gazebo not only has a beautiful and comfortable bed for you to rest your head on after a long day of exploring nature, but is over the top when it comes to glamping. It has a large screened in area with an additional day bed overlooking the stone, wood burning fireplace. This unit comes with a lovely credenza pump sink for all your washing needs, as well as a storage bench with 2 coolers. We've thought of everything. No need for excessive packing, just purchase some food and ice and you're all set! This well appointed space also has a large gorgeous china cabinet decked out with Royal Doulton fine china to eat your meals from. We just took glamping up a notch or two, okay maybe a dozen.
The cabinet contains wine glasses, cups, dishes, cutlery, BBQ utensils, a kettle, a French press for coffee lovers, salt, pepper, sugar etc. There is a propane BBQ with a filled tank just outside of the gazebo, as well as a fire pit.
The ultra chic outhouse has a foot pump sink, towels, soap, toilet paper, and led candles. There is also a shower area attached to the outhouse with a shower mechanism for you to rinse off with.
You can choose to light a fire in the fire pit just steps from the gazebo or cozy up with the indoor stone fireplace.
The private lake is just a short 2 minute walk down a forest path where you will find a canoe for exploring. A ten minute paddle will find you in the middle of the lake, where you will find a floating dock with an umbrella and two reclining chairs.
Guest access
The property is very private and the general public do not have access to any parts of the property. The entrance to the property has stone walls and big wooden gates that are always closed to give our guests the utmost privacy. You will be greeted at the gates and shown how to access and where to park.
Other things to note
Although we live on the 100 + acre property we are up the road about a kilometre away. We value and respect the privacy of our guests, so you will most likely not see us unless you require assistance from us.
Want to pack light? Get all of your BBQ needs in town just 10 minutes north of us.
PLEASE NOTE: This retreat does not have electricity. However, a small, silent portable power station is available in the room for guests who wish to charge their phones, laptops and small electrical devices.
The use of the property and gazebos is for the TWO registered guests only! Bringing in anyone that is not associated with your booking is completely prohibited.
Please treat our beautiful sanctuary with respect. There is a garbage bin with garbage bags for you to use. Please do not throw any garbage into our pristine lake. Do not leave any food items out in screened in area, as it will attract animals. Please use the 2 coolers provided or bring food items into the gazebo over night. Smoking is prohibited on the property.
If you wish to light a fire, please only light SMALL fires for ambience or roasting marshmallows. You are free to gather your own firewood around the area. There is a propane BBQ for you to use to cook your meals. Please turn off the gas when not in use.
There are 2 lounge chairs bolted to the raft for you. Just unfold them when you get there and fold them back up when leaving the raft. Please remember to close the umbrella as well or it might end up in the lake if the wind picks up.
When entering or leaving the property, please close the gates. Make sure the pin on the right leaf of the gate is in the designated hole or the wind will blow open the gates.
***This property is an animal-free zone due to SEVERE allergies. Please don't ask if you can bring your dog, cat etc, or try to sneak them in. This applies to service animals as well unfortunately. Just because different terms are used to describe the same thing, a dog is a dog etc, whether it is your pet or a service animal. Although we do sympathize with people who require service animals, my severe allergies do not know the difference and I do not want to die. Our property is exempt from domestic animals entering the grounds, we ask that you please respect this.
We also have deer and other creatures that live around the gazebos. The scent of a dog or other animal would scare them off, fundamentally changing the nature of the experience and impacting it for other guests.
This is a beautiful opportunity to reconnect with nature and yourselves, disconnect from the grid and stresses of everyday life. It's a pretty special place and a one of a kind experience.
