The Shack is where it’s at!

My husband and I along with our two teen daughters stayed at the shack to celebrate my 50th birthday and we will be back. The property is outstanding and the home is furnished and decorated beautifully. The kitchen is any chef’s dream and the beds are comfortable. The beds for us are always the hardest thing to get right when we go on vacation. The owner was friendly and very responsive. We really enjoyed our time here and I have already referred my friends and family. This is the best house we have stayed at in our 5 years of visiting Big Canoe.10/10 highly recommend!

Wonderfully Remodeled Big Canoe Cabin

My husband and I stayed here over Valentine's Day weekend. It was just the two of us, but this house can definitely hold a large group comfortably. There are 3 levels and plenty of space. It is beautifully decorated with Restoration Hardware furnishings and is extremely cozy. We were fortunate to be visiting when it was cold outside, so we had a constant fire burning and crackling. The owners provided plenty of wood. There are so many activities in and around the house, we simply did not have time to enjoy everything provided. We did squeeze in some great hikes, cooked in the well-appointed kitchen and enjoyed the serenity of the atmosphere. There are some great restaurants nearby, as well as an adorable grocery store. Dusty provides a comprehensive list of everything and was great with communication. On a side note, there was construction going on next door when we were visiting. It wasn't horrible, but we could hear it. We hope to be back for another visit, as this is now one of my new favorite places.

Relaxing Family Christmas vacation

Our family of 7 thoroughly enjoyed the comforts of this house during our week stay. Beds comfy, house temp was consistent, multiple tables…had a puzzle on one the whole time, but still able to eat & play games, pool table, video games, etc. were a hit with all of us. Also, nice trails to meander.

Fantastic Property

House was nicely decorated, plenty of seating in dining area, family room and basement. Everything was extremely clean! 2 gas fire pits (deck and yard) which are great. Many games in basement for kids and adults which we enjoyed. House definitely takes advantage of the nice outdoor surroundings. Would definitely rent again.

Magical...

Our stay at the Mountain Stream home was truly magical. Nestled on the edge of a serene forest and bordering a crystal-clear mountain stream, this beautifully remodeled home offered breathtaking views of the trees in the woods from every window. With ample space for our group of seven, including four adults and three children, the game room was a hit and the fire pits provided cozy evenings for s'mores. We spent our days exploring the enchanting woodland trails that led to a nearby lake, making countless trips to soak in the natural beauty. The convenience of having food delivered allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the tranquility of the home and its surroundings. Our weekend getaway was unforgettable, and we can't wait to return to this peaceful paradise.

Wonderful mountain home

Our group celebrated a 50th birthday and had a great time. The house is really nice and centrally located within Big Canoe. The kitchen is well equipped and each bedroom was very comfortable. Downstairs has a pool table that can also converts into ping pong. We spent each evening outside around the fire table. Would definitely stay here again.

Vibing in the Woods

Brought our family for Fall Break in October. The house was beautiful and had plenty of space for the five of us. The decor is modern, like Restoration Hardware built a home in the woods. The kids loved playing in the creek as well as in the game room. The owner, Dusty, was available for questions and even helped troubleshoot an intern issue. The area, Big Canoe, is filled with amenities. You’ll enjoy staying here.

50th Fun

We had a small group but the house was more than plenty big. We loved that the trails were just a step away from our back door. The Big Canoe development has everything you need, you don't have to leave the compound, if you don't want to do so. Would love to come back again.

Wonderful Family Fall Break

Our stay at "The Shack" was so much fun! Great location for a Fall visit. We enjoyed playing in the creek with the grandkids and taking the short hike to the lake. There was lots for them to do in the house when it rained. Besides the pool / pingpong table and arcade/wii games downstairs, there are lots of puzzles and other toys upstairs. Lots of room to spread out. The property owner was always quick to respond to all my questions and requests. We highly recommend "The Shack".

The shack is amazing!

We had a great time in the big canoe community. There was so much to do at the house that you really didn’t have to leave. We received recommendations of things to do in the information sent by the property manager before our stay. The Home restaurant made us feel extremely welcomed and the food was great! We would definitely do this again.

Fantastic Vacation!

We rented this house for a week and had the best time! I kept saying it felt like we were at an adult summer camp because there were so many fun things to do! The house was beautiful, felt very private and we had deer visit us daily. The bedding is super cozy, the outdoor furniture is great for relaxing with a nice glass of wine and there is a basement full of fun activities! Great House!!

Very nice home, great working with the owner. The basement was perfect for a 9 and 16 year old boy. Some more heat in the basement would be good, since it was cold in March. The stream running thru the property was very relaxing. Would stay again and recommend it to other.
