Ok in the end
Nice condo - attractive decor, good view of the lake, nice that it allowed a pet - but needs a little maintenance TLC (gas fireplace didn’t work, broken toilet paper holder in the bathroom whose door doesn’t fully close, several burned out light bulbs.) Biggest problem was check in - the code to get in the building didn't work. Neither the "client contact" nor the owner responded to emails or phone calls. We called Evolve, who manages the reservations. We were advised to give them an hour to get an answer (e.g., from the owner); meanwhile we were invited to go to dinner and submit the receipt for reimbursement (15 per person, but we'd JUST eaten and weren't hungry.) We were told if the issue wasn't resolved in an hour we could call back, and they would cancel our reservation, refund our money, and suggest a couple other places we could try, but we'd be on our own to find lodging. Fortunately we were able to track down the phone number to another management company who also manages some of the units on the property, and they were able to give us a temporary code to get in the building so we could in the end access our unit and have a place to stay that first night. Turns out the building codes had changed the prior month, the owner hadn't paid attention, and nobody had notified Evolve who was sending out the check in instructions. We were the "lucky" first ones to encounter the new codes. We did get a real building code the next day, so ended up with the access we needed.
