Located close to many hiking trails. We were there in October and had a spectacular view of the autumn foliage from our deck. Owners were very responsive.
From the deck of the cabin, I could see the sun rise and set, casting shadow and light over Rose Mountain. I could walk down to the creek night or day to sit on the pavilion or on the rocks. lots of hiking nearby.
Wonderful deck surrounded with jewel weed and humming birds
Very nice and clean little cabin. Quiet even though it’s near the road. We had issues with the gas bbq and not being able to open it but Andrew was very responsive and sent someone out to fix it the next morning and there was also a regular charcoal grill available so we got along fine.
The water pressure in the shower is not good. The water is hot but comes out in a trickle. That should really get fixed.
Would have used the outdoor shower since it’s summer but that was not working at all.
Other than that it’s a lovely place and we had a great time.
We loved this property! Ample supplies in the kitchen, only a short walk from a great swimming hole and a gorgeous deck to enjoy in the evenings after spending the day doing activities in the beautiful Catskills. Andrew is a wonderful host who offers all kinds of advice and was very responsive when answering questions and dealing with a minor issue we experienced while staying at the property. The house was just the right amount of space for me and my partner. The grill and deck furnishings were perfect for when we hosted a small dinner party during our stay. If this property is available while doing your search, snatch it up if you can!
Perfect camping getaway. We stayed as 2 adults, a toddler, and dog. One of us slept on the couch as the bed was a small queen, but the couch was almost like a twin bed and quite comfortable. The app is outdated with information so check with the owner, who was very helpful and quickly replied. The swimming hole is a legit ten minute walk and was gorgeous. Perfect place to dip in and cool off. Cabin very comfortable and perfect size for our needs. Maybe bring an extra fan because it did get very hot. Also the pricing was very reasonable. This cabin was called Betty, i think the app had the wrong information. the way down to the creek from the property was not well maintained could of used some weeding etc. overall, definitely worth it.
Quiet and you can see the stars. Nice deck, good communication, supplies, and WiFi. No tv, we considered that a plus. The community pavilion, pond (converted pool) and community fire pit are close but across the street and down a fairly steep path/steps.

Peaceful Cottage
Cute cottage tucked 1/2 way up hill with lots of natural light. Very workable kitchen and sleeps 2 comfortably. Bring blow up mattress if you have more people. The deck is awesome with beautiful view of mountains and you can hear nearby stream. Next to deck is small fire pit (bring own wood). Any supplies needed can be purchased in town of Phoenicia, about 5 min drive away. Very quiet and serene surroundings. We didn't care but TV is advertised but was not available. This is just over 1/2 hour drive to Kaaterskill Falls which is a must see. Our only complaint was that it needed a better cleaning. Kitchen surfaces are clean but food spatters all over wall and ceiling. The bathroom looked clean and new. It would be great if some hooks or hangers were installed to hang coats/clothes. Andrew was very prompt and accommodating with his responses.

Perfect cabin for a weekend getaway and great hikes in the Catskills
Very convenient location to access some great hikes. The cabin we stayed at was perfect for two people staying with two medium size dogs. Loved the deck with Mountain View’s. Unfortunately due to rain was not able to use fire pit but next time will make sure to do so.

Great Cabin
My girlfriend and I loved this place! The kitchen was very workable, the bathroom was recently redone and shower had good pressure/temperature control, and the bedroom alcove worked fine for us - we found the bed itself very comfortable. I was worried that the nearby road was a little too busy but was very wrong. Even though the place is close to rt 28 its just far enough away to be isolated and quiet.
There are a lot of opportunities to spend time outside with a grill on the deck, fire pit nearby, and a really cool pavilion down by the creek also with a fire pit. We were not around the cabin enough to use these things but now we have a reason to go back!
We made the mistake of not reviewing Andrew's very specific directions until we were ten minutes away and had no cell service - while arriving at night. It was a very dark overcast night and it was hard for use to find the driveway to the cabins so I would say, make sure to review before you get close if arriving at night. If you are arriving during the day or it's relatively light out, you won't have any issues seeing where to pull in.
In all, we were very happy and the cabin was even a little bigger than we expected. It worked fine for us and could even be ok for two couples or a small family.

Lovely cabin in an ideal location. I loved it. Great host.
I loved this property. What I didn’t know until I got here was how ideally located it is in a beautiful area of the Catskills near scores or wonderful and picturesque hikes and scenic drives. The cabin itself has skylights and Mountain Views. At night, you can hear the nearby creek babbling which I loved. There is a great well appointed kitchen — I cooked all my meals. I found the bed super comfortable and had great sleep here. The host is really helpful and responded to all my queries and gave information about stuff to do.

Cozy yet spacious cottage.. Great experience
This was the biggest of the 4 cottages there.. It had a big porch but since we went in winters it was covered with snow. The cottage was spacious and with all basic amenities.. It's good for a romantic outing..

Cozy little cabin with a big porch, rustic but comfortable.
Everything went smoothly, Nathan was very helpful with any problem, and the cabin itself was very comfortable for a quick getaway. Heat and hot water worked well, we did plenty of cooking, and it's a pretty property outside of town. Recommend for a couple.

Very Nice Little Cabin
Cute and cozy cabin. The bed was a bit hard and the couch could have been more comfortable, but it was very pleasant with great access to the creek right across the street. Perfect for picnicking and sitting by the fire.

Great cabin, great area, great time!
Stayed here for 2 nights during a weekend while snowboarding at Belleayre. The cabin was great and suited all our needs! It was unusually warm for January so we were able to enjoy the deck for some apres ski activity. Besides having to leave such a great time our stay was fantastic! I will definitely be a returning customer!

One star
My wife and I arrived at the cabin mid-afternoon after around a foot of snow had fallen a couple of nights before. Although the driveway on the property had been plowed up to a certain point, I still had to trudge 100 feet or so through unshoveled snow just to gain access to the cabin. The stairs and deck leading to the door of the cabin were similarly unshoveled, with a large buildup of snow and ice. This made gaining access to the interior impossible for my wife, who is disabled. Luckily, I found a shovel leaning against the outside of the cabin and was able to clear a path.
The heat was on inside, indicating that the owner had been there at some point, but the clocks looked like they had never been set back from last November, leading us to believe that the cabin had been unoccupied at least since then.
Cleanliness left a lot to be desired (despite the inclusion of a non-refundable cleaning fee). The cabin was infested with hundreds of beetles and there were food remnants in the refrigerator to name but 2 examples. There was no TV (not sure if this was indicated in the property description) but the wi-fi seemed to work OK. The mattress, however was hard as a rock. This was the deal breaker for my wife who suffers from chronic pain and has major back issues.
We decided, reluctantly, not to stay as we were prepaid for a 2 night stay and were now faced with the unenviable task of trying to find last minute lodging in the area before night fell.
We turned down the heat as instructed and left the property just as we found it (albeit freshly shoveled). In all, we were there less than 30 minutes. Taking that into account as well as the fact that we actually left the property cleaner than we found it, I don't think it unreasonable to ask for some kind of refund. We contacted the owner within an hour after we first arrived, letting him know we left, but never received any acknowledgement from him.
We are not the type to leave negative reviews lightly, but felt that we had to voice our dissatisfaction with our experience.

Perfect place to relax and enjoy the surroundings
We had an amazing week! From swimming at the local swimming hole to barbecuing on the front porch to visiting nearby farmers markets and antique stores. Andrew was an excellent host and provided tons of info about the area. The spectacular views of the mountains from the porch, kitchen and bedroom were a huge bonus. If you're looking for an inexpensive, clean and comfortable place with all the basic amenities you need, and are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city; this property is the way to go. But just in case you can't fully detach from technology, the wifi is strong enough to stream Netflix!

Perfect and beautiful location
This cottage is placed in an excellent location with a really beautiful landscape. Lots of things to do around and Andrew gave us many advices of where to go and waht to do in the Catskill area. The house was clean and had everything you would need for a perfect break waway from the city. Full-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, nice bath... Pictures are accurate. I definetely recommend Andrew's place to enjoy all the Catskill Mountains.

An Excellent Stay! Perfect for Fall!
The place was fantastic. We were living in the city and wanted to get out of town for the month and by the end of our stay realized that we couldn't have asked for a better place to do just that.
Andrew (the owner) was incredibly helpful. He provided us with a list of things in the area. We got to the cottage/cabin at the perfect time. The leaves were changing before our eyes. If you are looking for fall colors, THIS is the perfect time to arrive. By the time we left, many of the leaves had begun to fall off the trees.
I would suggest having a car, but we didn't have one for the month and we did just fine. There is a public transportation system nearby that we used regularly. It's a bus system called the UCAT. It takes you anywhere you would want to go in the Catskill/Ulster County area. We took it regularly to the local organic markets and farmer's markets in Kingston and Woodstock. We took it to nearby towns to go apple/pumpkin picking as well. It was a great thing to be able to use when we were left without a car.
The town of Shandaken is very sleepy and quiet, but there is a lot you can get to within 30 minutes. The isolated nature of this location made the nights (and days) very peaceful. I've never seen the Milky Way so bright as it was in Shandaken. There are other homes nearby, so you don't feel like you're totally and completely off the map, but you still have a feeling of being on your own.
The cottage had heat which was very nice to have at night as it got rather cold. Additionally, the grounds of the place were wonderful. We came with two cats who loved roaming around the forrest and large yard.
I would highly recommend staying at Andrew's cottage in Shandaken!

Great cabin!
We had a wonderful stay in this cabin, situated in the cute town of Shandaken (also super close to Phoenicia, also a really cute town). It was on a plot with a couple other little cabins, and the owner Andrew showed us a nice stream for dips just across the road (he also directed us to a nearby swimming hole and hiking trail, and helpfully pointed out poison ivy, which we might have otherwise overlooked). The cabin had lots of light, was clean, well equipped for cooking, had free wifi access, and was very comfortable. We brought our dog, who also had an amazing time. Andrew provided us with an email list before we came of nearby groceries, restaurants, etc. We definitely recommend this cabin and hope to return soon!
