Beautiful Log Cabin above Lake Shelbyville

Our lodge sits above Lake Shelbyville, a 11,000 acre lake, offers boating, fishing, swimming, hiking and hunting. FireFly Lodge is cozy with a fully equipped kitchen, tiled bathrooms, deck wraps around 3 sides of the house, picturesque lake view, wheel chair accessible on first and second levels, situated on 5 1/2 acres along the wooded shoreline of Lake Shelbyville. Our lodge is great for family gatherings, couples, business travelers, and families (with kids).
You can access Lake Shelbyville down a pathway through Army Corp of Engineer property. We cannot mow this pathway nor spray for poison ivy or weeds, since it is not our property. It is easy to get on and off a boat at the base of the property. You can also access the lake at the CoalShaft Bridge boat launch. The water is shallow here.

Belated family Christmas

Location, location, location. This is our second year doing family Christmas here. We love the location. One daughter comes up from St. Louis with 5 sons (age 17-25). The cabin, although not well organized for a regular house, suits the boys well.

What a great place!!!

We had a great time. It was conveniently located to the boat ramp and beach. Firepit was a great space to gather. Lots of beds which were clean and comfortable.

Annual family labor day trip

Absolutely loved having our own beach down the hill! Close to marina, appreciated firewood and fire pit, awesome having so many beds! I would love to be able to return some day.

Perfect family getaway!!!

First impression, beautiful cabin and secluded ❤️… Inside was very nice and felt very homey… We enjoyed the porch as well as the fire pit and the trail to the lake… A walk but well worth it! All you need for a large group

Fabulous Getaway!

As soon as we pulled up, we knew this is a top vacation spot!!! Beautiful log house with a view of Lake Shelbyville. All our needs we taken care of. Clean and very relaxing. Easy access to the lake with a nice beach and shallow play area in the water for the kids! The kids spent more time at the beach than up at the house! Very close to a boat ramp. We would launch the boat in the morning and meet up with family at the beach!! At the end of the day, we would gather around the fire pit and relax with music and s’mores! Could not have asked for anything more for a great family vacation! This was perfect!!!

Family weekend getaway

We all enjoyed our stay at the lodge. It is easy to find, plenty of space for our group of 12 to hang out, eat meals together, and more than enough sleeping areas. Would definitely stay again.

Family vacation

Overall we had a great time! One thing we didn't enjoy was the property owner coming out to mow in the middle of our stay when the grass wasn't that tall. Felt like we were being checked on. When really it could have waiting till after we left because checkout is at 11 am. I felt that it could use a good deep cleaning overall. If you have little kids the bunk bed room has concrete floors so be mindful of that. Does have steap stairs. Also the downstairs shower step is dangerous as we had someone slip and fall. The path to the lake is okay easy for littles but does have tall weeds on side. The beach was great and was shallow pretty far out.

Beautiful home - lots of room!

We enjoyed our time here. Grounds and home are beautiful. Plenty of room for a large group. Home seems to be due for a deep cleaning, but overall a great rental!

Not really little kid friendly. Pathway to narrow, alot of poison ivy along path to water. Nice place if we brought a boat.made the best of it found beach nearby.

Short stay in Sullivan

The setting of the property is beautiful. The cabin had not been cleaned and there were some plumbing issues but once I got a hold of the property manager they were taken care of promptly. We would stay here again as it was a beutiful, quiet setting.

This is a very beautiful place ! A lot of room ! Only one thing! Who ever was there before us 😡😡😡dump fish in the edge of the yard ! It smelled so bad! My son in law dug it up! So the next day we found another big pill of dead fish 😡 this has nothing to do with the owner she was very nice ! 😊 it people don’t have morals or respect for others property 😡

Nice property. Only issue was the carpenter bees were an issue on the outside of the property you couldn’t stand on the porch around the house without being swarmed,the owner has traps but they need an exterminator.

Why they chose this property

My brother built the cabin as his home with the help of our extended family. As my children grew up it was a hub for family gatherings with a huge yard, jet skiing and multiple levels in the home for different age groups to gather. When he needed to move away he planned on selling the cabin but it felt too important to let go. I approached him about turning it into a vacation rental. This place is special. It provides a peaceful time away and it fills me with memories of our family. We hope you can build memories at FireFly Lodge too.

What makes this property unique

FireFly Lodge its about Lake Shelbyville, a 11,000 acre lake, offers boating, fishing, swimming, hiking and hunting. All of the land around Lake Shelbeville is owned by the Army Corp. This is one of the few properties that we know of that has a private trail down to the lake. With 5 acres of land and forests on both sides, the only neighbors we see are the deer in the morning and friendly birds.
