It's not all sun, sea, and sand. Cullera has a rich history, which is best epitomized by 2 important buildings. The medieval Castle of Cullera and the romanesque La Mare de Deu del Castillo sanctuary sit on top of a hill above the town. This impressive site is complemented by the Hermitage of Santa Ana and the Tower of la Reina Mora. On the other side of the hill, you'll find Cullera lighthouse and Dragut cave. In this cave museum you can admire a Gothic chapel, extended in the 17th century.
Splashing out in fun-filled Cullera
As soon as you see the sand, you'll want to get it between your toes. You'll find the most popular beaches along the town's seafront, which offer numerous activities including windsurfing, diving, and paddleboat rentals. Just beyond the town's limits, there are smaller, quieter beaches, where you can get a little more privacy. If it's a fun-filled family day out you're after, head to Aquopolis Cullera water park. A lake, birds, and some fresh ingredients
Albufera National Park is about halfway between Cullera and Valencia. Not only does Albufera have the largest lake in Spain, it's also one of the most important wetland areas in the Iberian Peninsula. Home to rare species of wading birds and other wildlife, it's of immense ecological interest. It's also of great cultural importance. Its waters have been traditionally worked by fishermen and rice growers, supplying both ingredients and inspiration for many of the regions most distinct and delicious dishes.

The nearest airport is in Valencia Airport (VLC), located 25.5 mi (41.1 km) from the city center.
