Bear Mountain State Park cabin rentals

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here and regretted not staying longer. This property is a really easy 1 hour drive from the city, in a great area that is the perfect balance of feeling like you’re surrounded by nature, but not completely secluded or remote.

We would 100% go back to this house. The cabin was immaculate and had all the essential equipment for very successful fishing. We went with a family of four and the cabin was perfectly sized. The host was responsive and attentive. I have no critiques as we had an absolute blast.

My husband and I didn’t think there were any more old-fashioned “tourist cabins” left along America’s secondary highways. They were ubiquitous in the 1940’s and 50’s. We were happy to find this immaculate, comfortable cabin enclave near the Beacon-Newburgh Bridge in Orange County and enjoyed our short stay. The family who started the business - in the 1920’s! - is featured along with framed archival postcards on the walls, reminding us that this business is a rare survivor of the kinds of accommodations travelers stayed in in the pre-Holiday Inn era. Truly historic charm that deserves to be patronized into the future.

We loved this adorable a-frame rental! It was the perfect distance from the glenwood mountain farm where my brother’s wedding took place. All the cute details around this spotless place were highly appreciated. We especially loved the coffee bar set up. The beds were small and a little firm for our comfort, but it didn’t effect the experience much as it was a whirlwind wedding weekend. Thanks Nikki & Neil!!!

We stayed for almost a week during the peak of Autumn and immersed ourselves into the change of vibrant color each and every day. The attic was unbelievably cozy to take a nap and shower system was clean and neat. The kitchen was very nicely organized so everything was in place and we fully enjoyed cooking there too. Every single detail was exactly the way it was depicted in the photos. The most spectacular thing was the morning view over the balcony in the morning and the night view around the fire pit outside the cabin. The owner, Kamil, was very attentive and prompt when responding to my text and call and he was very kind and thorough to explain the things. We highly vouch for this cabin and we will most likely come back once it snows there to enjoy other breathtaking views with great amenities.

Great blend of modern amenities with the feel of the original log cabin. Would definitely book again if back in the area.
