Return to nature when you holiday in Oleander Cottage, at the unique concept Yenice Vadi, in the southern province of Mugla, near the Mediterranean coast. Enjoy traditional Turkish life in this beautiful two bedroom villa, with panoramic views of the valley and village below. The cottage can comfortably accommodate up to five guests and would be ideal for a small family or group of friends’ sharing. Oleander Cottage is built out of natural wood and local stone, with classic whitewashed walls, and beamed ceilings. The property is set in its own garden with a private swimming pool, surrounded by lush green lawns, and indigenous trees and shrubs. Villa Oleander has dedicated parking spaces and complimentary air conditioning and Wi-Fi. The interiors are stylish yet homely, nature has been brought indoors, handcrafted furniture is made from local wood, and the décor is warm and welcoming, using a colour palette of crisp clean white and shades of sea blues. The ambiance is one of light and airy easy living, with floor to ceiling sliding doors that open onto the terrace. The seating area has a baby blue L-shaped sofa, that can be converted into a bed to sleep one guest, an enclosed wood burning fire, and a flat screen smart television. The adjacent kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need to cater for your holiday. There are two beautifully-appointed bedrooms either end of the property, one with a king size bed, and ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower, and the other with twin beds, and a separate bathroom. The terrace has a covered veranda for shade, and is home to easy chairs and swing seats. The step-entry swimming pool is surrounded by wooden sun loungers and carved stone seats. Enjoy eating alfresco at the dining set, where you can feast from the fruit and vegetables you have foraged from the estate’s gardens and greenhouses.
Venice Vadi is arranged around a natural lake, with a central hotel, and back to nature cottages scattered amongst the olive groves. Here you will find farm animals running free, birds and butterflies fluttering by, and organic fruit and vegetables to hand pick from the branch or vine. When you stay at Oleander Cottage you can reap all these bountiful benefits. Start the day with an alfresco Turkish buffet breakfast at the hotel, or spoil yourself and have it served in your room. Lunch and dinner can be taken by the pool or restaurant, but if you’d prefer to cook, then help yourself to the organic fruit and veg grown on site, and in the greenhouses. Yenice Vadi is open all year round, in the cooler months there is an open wood fire to keep you cosy, and the air conditioning can be reverted to warm. Learn to cook dishes Turkish style with their complimentary by-appointment cooking classes. Work off all that healthy eating with a yoga or Pilates class in the dedicated studio, there’s nothing better than doing a sun salutation as the sun rises. Fancy a swim, there’s a beautiful natural lake, with a built-in twenty five metre long freshwater swimming pool, the perfect place for a few lengths before breakfast, or a cooling afternoon dip. Then sweat it all off in the newly built spa with a traditional Turkish hammam and Finnish style sauna. Be at one with nature with a walk around the grounds, taking note of the seasons, and the scent of the blooms, whilst the bees make the honey.

Location:
The Treehouse is nestled in the valley of Yenice Vadi, a unique back to nature, village life complex, close to Yenice, in the heart of the province of Mugla, near Turkey’s Turquoise Coast. Yenice Vadi is equidistant from two international airports, both Dalaman and Bodrum are a one hour fifteen minute drive through the verdant Turkish countryside to your destination.
You can pick your own fruit and veg, and dine in the Yenice Vadi’s restaurant, but if you want more provisions, the small village of Yenice is just a short five minute walk away, with a few mini markets and manavs to cater for your holiday needs.
Locally there’s lots of walks in nature through the indigenous flora and fauna, take a hike up the mountains, or follow trails that will take your through traditional Turkish villages, where you can sample the simple life, sip a glass of apple tea in a shady garden, or sample a gozleme pancake handmade by the ladies of the house. Should you wish to ever leave the idyll that is Yenice Vadi, there’s lot to see and do within a comfortable driving radius. It’s a tale of two destinations when you stay at Yenice Vadi, a thirty minute drive inland will take you to the major town of Mugla for a taste of Turkish commercial life, worth going on a Thursday, when there is a large local market, visit the Graeco-Roman museum full of Ottoman artefacts, before a stroll around the quaint old quarter and get a good scrub at a traditional hammam. Drive thirty minutes south to the coast where you will find the holiday hot spot of Akyaka, where the Azmak River meets the Mediterranean Sea. The pine timbered, fishing village of Akyaka is home to the nearest family-friendly white sandy beaches. Famous for its fabulous cuisine, whilst you are there enjoy eating freshly caught seafood by the seashore, admire the old houses with wooden balconies festooned with flowers, or take a boat trip to the Bay of Gokova, with the Sakova Tepe mountains as a beautiful backdrop.
The major town of Marmaris is just under an hour’s drive, to what was once a tiny fishing village, now home to a thriving tourist industry. Marmaris has a pebbly beach for sunbathing and swimming in the cool clear Mediterranean, a lovely long promenade for a stroll along the sea shore, great scuba diving facilities, brand label shops, bustling markets, a choice of cafes, restaurants and bars, and a very lively nightlife. Further afield the town of Bodrum is a two hour drive away, situated on the south Bozburun coast, boasting the Museum of Mausolus, one of the original seven wonders of the ancient world, and Bodrum Castle founded by the fifteenth century Knights Hospitallers. Bodrum has a natural harbour full of fishing boats and day trip gulets, a marina mooring some of the world’s biggest super yachts, and the Museum of Underwater Archaeology.
Dalyan is a one hour fifteen minute drive away, take a trip down the Cayi River, past the Lycian tombs, and the ancient city of Kaunos, to Iztuzu Beach, home to the famous hatching Caretta Caretta turtles. No holiday to this area of Turkey is complete without a visit to the must-see ancient city of Ephesus, a slightly longer two and a half hour drive, but well worth the journey to see one of the world’s most exceptional historical and fascinating archaeological sites.
