Dune Trip
Overall it was a great experience, however there was some pro’s and con’s… Pro’s: The place was very modern and clean, had all the amenities needed, lots of parking. Con’s: No starter pack of paper goods, no grill, not much hot water from the water heater, can’t drive to dune access with sand paddles because of pavement road for two miles. The owner was great on communicating and I’m still giving it a high rating. We loved the Oregon coast and riding the dunes.

Beautiful Tiny Home with Everything You Need
Our family had such a relaxing, enjoyable week at this beautiful tiny home, one last bit of summer vacation before school started. Our two teens said the house reminded them of a little ship and loved hanging out in the loft upstairs. My husband and I slept well in the comfortable bedroom which had lots of space to tuck things away in closet and cabinets and under the bed. The kitchen is small but very well-stocked with all the dishes, pans, utensils, and appliances we needed. The home was decorated beautifully, clean, in like-new condition. The outdoor space was large (lots of room for boats/ATVs etc. and the neighborhood was quiet. We enjoyed setting up our hammock frames, and there were also a lot of outdoor options for seating on the covered porch, around the firepit, and at the nice picnic table. We enjoyed being able to walk into town for groceries or coffee and having the lakes so close and surprisingly warm for swimming and paddleboarding. We went on a dune buggy ride, explored the beaches and the towns along the coast. Cheryl checked in with us regularly and responded quickly. It was unexpectedly warm and humid the week we were there, and her team was able to find us three fans to use within a couple hours of my message. We recommend this place as a good home base for exploring the area and a comfortable, cozy retreat.

Born and raised in the Portland area, then moving away for our careers in public service and raising a family, we consider the Oregon Coast home away from home. We visit often to visit our parents, who have made Coos Bay their home for decades. We take family vacations to the Oregon Coast ourselves and enjoy all the incredible things the area has to offer. We love to hike, golf, take scenic drives, play in the sand at the amazing beaches, ride quads, kayak with Grandma & Grandpa, clamming and crabbing, boating and fishing on the local lakes and the Umpqua. We love Sunset Bay, the dunes, and Golden and Silver Falls.

The Oregon Coast is a very special place to us, where many fond memories with family have been made. We are excited to share our special home Whispering Pines with you!

Winchester Bay, a small port village at the Pacific Ocean end of the Umpqua River, is to the North (12 minutes). North Bend and Coos Bay, the larger towns along the Oregon Coast, with shops, historic places, casinos, farmers and artisan markets, and entertainment are to the South (20 minutes). Shore Acres State Park, Sunset Bay and the Cape Arago Beach Loop, featuring stunning views and hikes on the coastline and seals and sea lions on the Oregon Coast is about 40 minutes away.
