Seagrape Hill vacation rentals

The house and view were magnificent. We like to stay away from crowds. So this house, on the side of a hill, at the East End near Coral Bay, checked all our boxes. And we had our own pool.

Our family of four rented this home for a week and we appreciated the location, views, well equipped kitchen, and pool more and more every day. The house is perfectly located for access to the north shore beaches, east end explorations, and the restaurants and shops of Coral Bay. Communication with the hosts and the property manager Paul was perfect from before I booked through check out. Their neighbor Max was so friendly and helpful during our stay. The hill to the house seemed daunting the first couple times we drove it but we quickly got used to the switchbacks. The house has plenty of bath and pool/beach towels as well as beach chairs, noodles, snorkeling gear, and more. We never accessed the small casita next to the pool but if you plan to use it for additional guests, know that the occupants will need to navigate a steep driveway and a long staircase so it might not be the best for those with limited mobility/balance. Highly recommend booking a boat from Coral Bay as the dock is just moments from the house. The Calabash Market is a hidden gem for seasoned fresh fish and homemade hummus. Skinnylegs is an institution but the newer restaurants in Coral Bay did not disappoint.Thanks for a wonderful week!

Excellent place for some relaxation and exploring of the island. Very good accommodations overlooking Coral Bay. The supplies are very plentiful within the kitchen and linen supplies. The cooler and beach accessories are very helpful. We used the chairs, beach towels, cooler and floaties daily. Overall, this place is great! The only drawback is that the main road down the hill does lead to a fair amount of vehicle noise at times. So it's not always peaceful and quiet. That is hard to find though on a smaller island like this.

This was our second vacation to St John and my wife and I really enjoyed our stay. The property was very clean and well maintained. We enjoyed the fact that it had a great view but was not so far up the hill that driving up and down was annoying. It was in a great location, very close to Coral Bay restaurants and shopping as well as a short drive to beaches on both the north and south shores. It was fun seeing little goats come to drink out of the pool daily as well. It had everything we needed in regards to kitchen equipment, supplies, etc. The King bed was very comfortable and the outdoor shower was a fun twist. Just 2 small suggestions to make the property even better: Because there is only one small bathroom, it would be handy to have another mirror on a wall somewhere. Also, there is a small gap in the door leading to the outdoor shower that could be easily remedied with some weather stripping to prevent bugs from getting in. Overall, great stay, would come again!

The property has a beautiful view and it’s quiet. It’s on the other side of the island from Cruz Bay but I liked it better. Julie makes amazing food and Jack will set you up with a Jeep. Julie was so kind to make us soup, amazing garlic bread and cookies after the hurricane. We had the best ever vacation there!

Our stay at Fernando and Dorothy’s beach home was absolutely perfect. The house is perfectly maintained. The view from the deck is phenomenal. The location on the east end is perfect because it is so quiet, yet it is an easy drive to the beautiful beaches of St. John. They had everything anyone could possibly need while there. Fernando and Dorothy are very friendly and helpful and were always willing to answer any questions about the island. One of the best pieces of advice we received from Dorothy came before we even arrived. She said to travel light using just a carryon. She was so correct. We brought only a carryon and still didn’t use half of the clothing we brought. Everyone seems to live in swimwear by day and a simple sundress or shorts and a shirt for dining out. Fernando was able to answer any questions we had. He knows island well including the best places for snorkeling, buying produce, dining out etc. He even told me exactly where to go to buy a license plate to add to my collection. Another plus was the solar and Tesela power wall installed on this house. The power on St. John was out approximately a third of the time we were there, but did not affect us. Groceries on the island are very pricey and it would have been disappointing to loose our refrigerated items due to a power outage. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking to stay on the island. We booked totally based on the reviews and they were definitely spot on. Thanks Fernando and Dorothy!

This Coral Bay studio is in a great location that is easy to get to. The view of the bay and east end of the island is stunning. The studio room, bathroom, closet, and porch are spacious and comfortable. Jack and Julie are knowledgable, responsive, enthusiastic and gracious hosts. They certainly have thought of everything. It is evident that their goal is to help you enjoy your stay and make the most of your time on St. John whether that involves adventure or relaxation. We encourage those who plan to stay to take advantage of Julie's culinary skills and pre-order some of her tasty mango-coconut bread and gourmet dinners that are catered to your porch. You will not be disappointed.
