“THE SPACE”

THE ALIYAH. This tree house is for those wanting an, "off the grid nature experience." This is TRULY, a one of a kind adventure experience.

The treehouse is secluded and tucked in the woods and off the grid.

There's a tree in the room. As in: a more-than-100-year-old, two foot wide trunk right there in the middle, lichen and all, reaching straight through the roof, one of two red oaks that support the tree house. Neighboring limbs hold a second tree-house bedroom accessible by a suspended rope-and-plank bridge to a deck. It’s an excellent place to sleep, without light or sounds, except for the nighttime woods.

It’s trees as far as the eyes can see. The woods hold different marvels all times of year, so there is no off-season at EarthJoy village where the tree house resides. You have a generator to power the AC unit. Guests also relax with a tree pod below, a stacked-stone fire-pit, cafe seating outside the main tree house, and shaded hiking paths (including the popular 3.3 mile Heart Trail) that wind through the 200-acre private property, each bend bringing native flora, ponds, creeks. You can HIKE, Walk of Bike the trails.

There is a electric heater, and electricity. You also have back up battery-powered lanterns, a three gallon jug of water in the kitchenette and an adjacent compost toilet. A private bath house is up the road.

T he tree house is wholly, cozy and austere. A L-shaped couch wraps the red oak. But who are you kidding. You are going to be sitting outside!

The five tree grove is available to you to book a guided tree climb. Here, our professional facilitator will take you to the top for the best views! You can learn all the tree tricks, including coming down, upside down. Or you can always just hang out in the GIANT green net!

You can buy a big bundle of wood for $50.00 or bring your own.

Check in to treehouse and or property is 4PM. Early check ins to property or tree house can be prearranged for $50.00 organization/expedite fee or we recommend booking two nights to fully take advantage of all the property has to offer.

Kids can go on scavenger hunt to find the 5 ponds, (scavenger bingo is supplied for you and in the tree house. A favorite of guests is to explore an abandoned 1800s settlers log cabin, and wade and play in several cool creeks! Bring your fishing poles!

You can also book a guided meditative hike that will connect you deeper to yourself, others and nature or check out our nature invitations in the tree house manual created just for you.

A fully stocked kitchenette inside has everything you need to cook all your meals including 3-gallon tank of water, pots and pans, plates, bowls ,yeti like cooler, Mr coffee, two burner electric stove and utensils. With a portable sink for clean up

You are sure to sleep well either on the full size memory foam mattress in the loft above the living room or use of sleeping bags on the extra large couch.

You will fight over the snuggle palace where you can view the sunset, sunrise and stars at night. It has full size memory foam mattress and twin bunk above.

This TreeHouse is recommended lovers Nature lovers, people who seek time away from technology.

We cannot predict the weather. When it is sunny and warm things can be peachy. The tree house can also be fun when it rains just prepare ahead of time.

In good dry weather you will have much easier time to navigate right up to the tree house! However, in snow, or rain we recommend four wheel drive with good tires. If you are afraid you will get stuck during your stay we ask you do not pull down further than the green farm house at entry of property. From there you can use a wagon next to farmhouse to take your things down.

When the weather dips down into the teens the bathhouse may have frozen pipes. You will still be able to use it with a little improvisation. It is heated. If you want to take a shower you can follow the directions for a portable shower.

There is a full bath house with a shower, toilet and sink as you come into the property marked BATHHOUSE. It is located up the hill by the farm house, about a football field away from the tree house. For quick trips to the bathroom, the outhouse is 30 feet outside of the tree house. They are clean, organized and efficient!

We have a detailed manual inside the tree house for more details.

Please take note*** If you love Wildlife and do not mind critters. The tree house is in the middle of the woods you may encounter mice, wasp, bees, ticks, deer, turkey, flies, ants, water bugs, hear coyotes, and owls especially out on the trails. THIS IS THEIR HOME! We ask that you be a person that respects wildlife. If interaction with bugs, insects, animals and nature is disheartening to you we do not recommend this tree house experience for you. Please do not book this tree house and then call us when you see a wasp, bee, find a tick or other things you find in nature. We have used natural deterrents that really work to keep critters out of the tree house.

**A favorite of guests is visiting the Historical town of Augusta Ky. Childhood home to George Clooney. The Irish Pub is a great place to eat (call ahead for open hours) and have a ice cream after at the general store across the street. Visit the small red train with historical info and take a stroll along the beautiful Ohio River just two blocks to the left of the pub. Augusta is also home to underground railroad.

For more favorites and suggestions, look in the treehouse manual or ask us to send you some before you book.

The Tree houses are our dream come true. We both wanted treehouses at a young age. For me, I believed it would bring me peace. I would play in the woods with my siblings imagining this treehouse it with small branches, using rocks as our furniture and moss as our carpet. I never let go of having this space and thought about it often.

When Bill and I started our dream company EarthJOY Tree adventures in 2007. Whereas we take clients to the top of trees on ropes. As part of this venture we wanted to give them another experience. Why not be able to stay in a treehouse too??

We set off to take Pete Nelsons LEARN HOW TO BUILD A TREEHOUSE in 2009 workshop.

After the workshop we looked high and low for the perfect property to have this dream come true. We ran into many obstacles one being not able to afford it or not the right trees.

When we saw Pete on Animal planet I thought I would just apply for the fun of it. We didn't even have a place. When they called and accepted our application I called Dad. I asked him if we could build a treehouse on his 200 acre farm. He laughed and then said YES! He said he was tired

Spring weekend getaway
Easy checkin and necessary amenities made treehouse living a breeze. Challenging but well groomed hills made trails manageable for young kids (4&7). Creeks, tree swings hammocks all seemed a perfect an often timely compliment. Would recommend to anyone who doesn’t mind a little excersize and some time unplugged.

Step Away!
This is a great retreat with lots of fun adventures — tree climb, hike, visit Augusta, eat at the Bee Hive. The bathroom situation was a bit of a shock for my kids, but they can’t always be princesses. :)

Charming
Who wouldn't want to stay in a tree house? This is an incredible destination for people who want to get away from everything, including the ground. You stay in the woods, sleeping in the tree tops. The property was immense, over 200 acres to explore, trails to hike, and things to find. They also have a tree climbing experience if you want to climb. The property was very clean. While there is no power at the tree house, there are batteries available for charging your cell phone, a generator for A/C if you need it, plus battery powered fans and lights. I couldn't recommend this property enough, and look forward to another get away there.
