About this property

Hummingbird Treehouse Getaway w/ Hot Tub & Firepit

Summary:
Treehouse - 1 Bedroom + 1 Bath (Sleeps 2-4)

The Space:
The Hummingbird treehouse is tucked away in nearly 18 acres of secluded woods. Come and sleep among the trees!

The Hummingbird recently had a complete makeover - all furniture, tv's, grills, etc. are brand new - including a brand-new, king-sized Nectar mattress (rated by US News as the best memory foam mattress 2021). Enjoy the fiber internet, excellent cell reception, cable, and smart tv with soundbar (great for watching Netflix, Hulu, etc.). The treehouse also features a gas fireplace.

The floorplan is an open concept, with a full kitchen that includes a refrigerator, microwave, stove, oven, and everything you need to dine in. There’s a covered porch with a spectacular view of the forest, which makes for a lovely spot to sip morning coffee.

The Hummingbird features a “smokeless” firepit situated on a massive boulder that overlooks the forest. It's an incredible place to relax and unwind. We keep the firewood stocked right next to the firepit. The firepit is right next to our private salt water hot tub. You can also kick your feet up and relax during the day in a hammock nearby the cabin.

The Hummingbird is a short 7 minute drive to downtown Monteagle (and the Monteagle Assembly), which hosts numerous great restaurants and antique shoppes. It’s a 15 minute drive from the campus of the University of the South at Sewanee, where you can find many wonderful activities including the Sewanee Summer Music Festival and visiting Sewanee’s famous All Saints Chapel. Within a short 25 minute drive is The Caverns, a famous Bluegrass music venue. For those interested in day trips to the bigger cities, we’re 45 minutes to Chattanooga and 90 minutes to Nashville.

Monteagle Mountain is one of the most stunning natural areas in Tennessee, designated nationally by the Natural Resources Defense Council as a "bio-gem" because of its rich diversity of wildlife, trees, birds and other species. The Hummingbird is a 10 minute drive to the South Cumberland State Park, a 31,000 acre park filled with world-class hiking trails and waterfalls, including the renowned Fiery Gizzard Trail, Grundy Lakes, and Foster Falls. Beautiful area lakes including Tims Ford Lake, Nickajack Lake, Normandy Lake, and Woods Reservoir offer fantastic fishing, boating, and water sport activities.

If the Hummingbird is booked, take a look at our two other treehouses located on the property. All of which are very private and have hundreds of great reviews! Just search for the Dove or Eagle treehouses in Monteagle. We also have six brand new professionally designed treehouses open for fall- search "Beautiful views. New treehouses with hot tubs."

If you're in need of a larger space, we also have a lovely cabin on the property that sleeps 12. Listing can be found under the heading "Beautiful Cabin Minutes from Monteagle. Brand New Salt Water Hot Tub!".

Lies
This is not secluded, you are 100% visible in the hot tub from the road in multiple directions additionally the cabin next door is also visible to your hot tub and theirs! You can hear everything they are doing over there, additionally the hot tub was green and mildewy, my partner won’t get in. And just because it says it’s not suitable for kids doesn’t mean they are not kids there, so if you were looking for an adult private secluded tree house with a hot tub, keep on looking this is not it. What a rip off.

Great treehouse experience
The treehouse was clean, the bed was super comfortable, and the hot tub and fire pit were all nice. The tree house feels secluded, yet you can still see the lights of other treehouses so you don't feel alone in the woods. Highly recommend!
