A little disappointing
We originally made our rental arrangements with the previous owners of Casa Camile. The house was sold before our visit and we're not sure what (if anything) transpired in between, but the original house description didn't quite match up with what we found on arriving in Granada. This house has evidently had "some" upgrades; the brightest area and most enjoyable place to relax in is the hammock and the pool area. The pool area had only 2 reasonably comfortable deck chairs. Our group likes to cook, and sadly, the kitchen amenities were such that we chose to eat out most days. The current owner however, was very helpful and quick to respond to a few requests made by us - for a good sharp kitchen knife, and some extra dish towels. Hot water was not available on our arrival; a plumber was sent to repair this and thereafter, some hot water was available in 2 of 3 of the bathrooms. Unfortunately, no other areas of the house had hot water. Apparently, water pressure is a problem in itself throughout Granada. The beds in each bedroom were very comfortable, and the swimming pool (cleaned 3 times/wk) was a true joy to swim in. The house location is a good 15-minute walk from the "Park Centrale" area of the city. We enjoyed being greeted daily by the extremely friendly local people as we walked everywhere in this very nice colonial-style city. Granada is a very affordable place to visit and taxis will take you anywhere for a minimal price. There is an abundance of very good restaurants in Granada. Mombacho Lodge (volcano and coffee plantation) and the Artisan Mercado (market) are both great places to visit while in Granada. J
