About this property
The Granary at Pannels Ash Farm, Pentlow
A charming single-storey cottage within the grounds of a stunning Grade II* listed country holiday house which caters for up to 4 guests with two double bedrooms. A spacious open plan kitchen/sitting room contains a 54” Smart TV with a separate orangery providing dining space. The Granary has its own private garden and off-road parking space. THIS PROPERTY IS NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN AND ONLY SUITABLE FOR TWO SMALL DOGS.
The Granary is a hidden gem situated within the grounds of a gorgeous Grade II* listed country house in a rural location just a short drive from some of our area’s most picturesque towns and villages. The property caters for up to 4 guests and is arranged over a single storey ensuring convenient accessibility.
The property is approached through a five-bar gate and its own front door into an impressive open-plan kitchen/living area. There is plenty of space for seating arranged around a smart TV perfect for a quiet night of relaxing and watching films. The kitchen is well equipped with an oven, coffee machine and everything needed for a comfortable stay. An orangery provides space for dining with doors opening onto the Granary’s private secluded garden area with further outside seating available. Two bedrooms (one with a queen size bed and the other with a double bed) sleep up to 4 guests with a bathroom containing both a bath and a shower. There is a private off-road allocated parking space on a pebbled driveway.
The Granary is situated in the pretty rural village of Pentlow on the Essex/Suffolk border with many beautiful walks in the vicinity. It is ideally placed to explore the neighbouring town of Clare (Suffolk’s smallest town) with numerous pubs, restaurants, cafes/tearooms, shops including a grocery store and independent retailers and it still plays host to a market on the third Saturday of every month. It also contains the country park and castle ruins with a network of footpaths leading throughout the Stour Valley. Long Melford sits just over 10 minutes away from what is reputed to be one of the longest high streets in England with its vast array of attractions including two stately homes (Melford Hall and Kentwell Hall) which periodically open to the public and are well worth a visit.
Slightly further afield is the Cathedral town of Bury St Edmunds (approx. 20 miles) and the market town of Sudbury (approx. 6.5 miles) the latter with rail links to London Liverpool Street.
The property is NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN due to a large open pond within the gardens of the main house.
1-2 Small-medium-sized behaved dogs will be permitted.
The property is accessible to those in wheelchairs or with limited mobility. A hoist to assist with transferring out of a wheelchair and into a bed or bath can also be provided upon request with prior notice.
Access to the owner's garden is available at the owner's discretion and by prior arrangements (please note the presence of an open pond).
