About this property
The Granary - sleeps 2 guests in 1 bedroom
The Granary is a charming and attractive two-storey barn conversion and features high ceilings with characterful exposed beams. Sitting within Greenhill Courtyard, your holiday retreat for two is nestled in the heart of the picturesque village of Thornford, just three miles from popular Sherborne.
The accommodation has been lovingly furnished and styled with impeccable taste, and offers everything required for a special holiday in Dorset. As you enter through the front door you will find the beautiful sitting room with its feature electric fireplace to your left, comfortable seating invites you to sit down and relax, whilst you admire the tasteful artwork which dresses every wall. Back through the small hallway, the bright and well-equipped kitchen beckons, which includes a generous dining area with seating for four guests, and offers lovely front-facing views across the courtyard to the fields beyond. A cloakroom also sits in the entry hallway.
Stairs lead from the corner of the sitting room to the first floor landing, where you will find the impressive super-king size bedroom with carefully chosen furniture, more attractive artwork, plenty of storage and views out across the countryside. A well-appointed shower room conveniently sits opposite the bedroom, and your holiday home also boasts a beautifully furnished study/reading room - an ideal spot to pen that first novel.
The sheltered courtyard garden is the ideal spot to sit with your morning coffee, or perhaps an evening glass of wine, and the rolling fields in front of this special small courtyard development invite you to venture out and explore.
The Kings Arms pub is conveniently located just steps away in the centre of the village, and there is a post office and shop nearby too. Thornford also benefits from a railway station with direct services South to Weymouth and North to Bath, providing convenient transport links for car free trips out during your stay in Dorset. Surrounded by the stunning Dorset countryside, the area is ideal for those who enjoy walking and outdoor pursuits. Just a short distance away, the historic Abbey town of Sherborne offers an excellent selection of boutique shops, independent cafes, two supermarkets and two castles.
Whether you are looking for a cosy, comfortable base for exploring the picturesque villages and market towns in the area, or for a special holiday home in which to kick back and unwind, The Granary is just perfect.
