As a life-long local, hosting in the western NY area is a delight! All the seasons are loaded with beauty and the community is active, artsy, and all-around welcoming. There are endless trails to explore; each month brings festivals and family-friendly outings. I enjoy discovering new ways to gather with friends around snacks and look forward to live music, theater, and creative inspiration around me.
Why they chose this property
The Plum Bush House is centered in the ideal location. Picturesque countryside with surrounding farmlands, just minutes from cultural center Chautauqua Institution, a short ride to the lake to launch a boat. The Overland Trail is nearby for hiking and biking. Cozy cups of coffee can be enjoyed down the road at Stedman's, wine and cheese can enamor at local wineries, active nightlight scene in both Mayvile and Bemus locations are within less than five minutes. It's gorgeous, safe and a retreat from the busy life.
What makes this property unique
Built in 1865, this Victorian farmhouse is a journey to another time. The original woodwork is a wonder and fifteen scenic acres to explore allow for inspirational headspace and hospitable gathering place. The heated pool sits below towering black walnut trees; each bedroom provides luxury and privacy; the winding staircase, viewing copula, clawfoot tub, and grand dining room provide a dreamy backdrop to reconnect and restore.
