About this property

Secluded 3,500 acre marsh with abundant wildlife and views

Miller-Green Lodge is located in the coastal bayous of Southwestern Louisiana on a secluded oasis of 3,500 acres with 25+ miles of trails and bayous tucked one-mile north of the Creole Nature Trail (HW82) in Pecan Island, Vermilion Parish and about three hours west of New Orleans and 3.5 hours east of Houston. This full amenity lodge is perfect for nature lovers, bird watchers, hunters, those looking for a little rest and relaxation or looking to experience part of the Cajun culture. Stay is good for 8 guests with a $50 additional fee per guest with a 10 person max (potential for flexibility with children). For an additional cost, meals/libations as well as onsite fishing and guided tours via boats and jeeps are available. Rate includes taxes

For sportsmen, there is ample hunting and fishing. This luxury hunting and fishing lodge provides closeness to the spawning and nursery areas for millions of fish and crustaceans who live on plentiful food growing wild. These bayous and canals have an abundance of well-fed bass, catfish, crappie, white perch and garfish. Not far from the vacation home, White Lake is just to the north and full of fish as well. For bigger game, head to the shore waters just 5 miles from your hunting lodge at the Gulf of Mexico. Whether hunting duck, gator, deer or wild hog, the Miller-Green Lodge offers a variety of organized packages with highly skilled local guides. Hunts are tailored to meet your needs. In fact, you might even run into Lizbeth, our year-round bayou neighbor. Lizbeth most definitely knows a thing or two about hunting gators and gator eggs.

For bird watchers, the spring and fall migrations offer the widest variety of shorebirds to be found anywhere. Countless thousands of small song birds use numerous stranded beach ridges scattered throughout the marshes on their way to and from their northern resting grounds. The neighboring rice fields and refuges enhance this region in supporting large populations of migrating shorebirds in the spring and fall, and waterfowl and yellow rails in the Fall and Winter. Bird watchers and nature enthusiasts will experience why others have proclaimed Southwest Louisiana as one of the top bird watching areas in the United States.

This full amenity 2,400 sq. ft. lodge plus two 600 decks features open, expansive living space, four ensuite guest rooms and five full-baths. Not your average lodge rental, but a luxury vacation rental. No expense was spared in accommodating this cottage on the lake with nearly all the comforts of home. Guest rooms are in a split plan away from living space, each with their own corner windows and exposures. Quartered off in coves, the rooms each feature a queen size bed, twin bed, private bath and luxury towels / linens.
The open living space includes an oversized island and rustic dining table (seats 12), wet bar with sink, extra counter space fully stocked with glasses, cloth linens and an automatic ice machine. The vacation home amenities also include two over-sized furnished decks, indoor/outdoor TV, central heat/air, internet and cable, boat docks, marsh vehicles (additional fee), fishing (additional fee), hunting (additional fee) and sightseeing guides (additional fee), concrete parking for 6 cars and ample cold and hot water for you, your family and friends. Team building? Our rental lodge is perfect for corporate retreats.
The Miller-Green Lodge is ideally positioned on Floating Turf Bayou, is elevated 12 feet above ground and features unobstructed views of the marsh, bayous, and night stars. Capture majestic sunsets while your freshly caught fish, wild duck, or seafood is prepared by our cajun chef.

Early mornings in this pristine Pecan Island Lodge, the untouched oasis is enhanced by Louisiana sunrises and freshly brewed coffee. Spill onto the oversized screened-in porch which overlooks a wildlife bayou and marsh. Guests wake to sounds of birds, frogs, and dozens of Louisiana marsh creatures. You’ll enjoy spotting’s of deer, hares and gator. This open aviary is chock-full of nearly every Louisiana marsh animal including crawfish, shrimp and crab. A second outdoor spot (also adjacent to the dining/living area of the vacation home) faces the north marsh prairie toward White Lake wetlands in the distance and is furnished with an additional outdoor dinner table and chairs.

Perfect getaway in the marshes

We stayed two nights with a party of 8 friends. The property is perfect for such a large group, consisting of four almost identical large bedrooms each with a queen and single bed and an ensuite. There is a large well equipped kitchen and the fridge was stocked with cold drinks when we arrived. Thanks to the mosquito screens the large balcony is perfect to sit outside whilst overlooking the marshes. Shellie and Joey are great hosts. Shellie cooked us a lovely cajun meal and Joey took us into the marshes with the air boat. Highly recommended.

Christmas in the Marsh

A wonderful time was had by all. The elevator is exactly what we needed to bring this happy reunion to fruition. Without it, we wouldn’t have been able to gather with our wheelchair bound patriarch. The lodge was perfect. Well stocked with pots and pans for cooking our Christmas Eve étouffée and Christmas Gumbeaux. Shellie and Joey were very helpful and responsive. We hope to do this again in the not too distant future!

Friends Trip

The lodge was amazing! We had 4 adult couples and we each had our own bedroom and master bath. The great room, kitchen and dining area all in the middle made a great community area. Shellie cooked us a wonderful meal that was waiting for us upon our arrival. We thoroughly enjoyed the property, getting up early to watch the sunrise, bird watching, nature photography, hunting, boating...you name it! Surface Manager Joey made sure we were able to do all we wanted. He was an incredible guide and he and his staff took great care of us. We will be back many times in the future!

Absolutely amazing!

We are Louisiana locals-and a family of fisherman. We wanted a family getaway to catch some crabs and relax. Let me tell you, the property is just beautiful! The wildlife is amazing and so many things to do. We made the best memories. Drinking coffee on the screened porch when the sun came up and playing cards when the sun went down- and boucoup crabbing and fishing in between. This place is remote and that’s one of the best parts- you get to get away from everything. The lodge accommodates a large family without having to be on top of one another. The place is well stocked- just bring your clothes, sunscreen, appetite, and awe of nature. Great bird watching. Couldn’t count the alligators! We will be back several times a year. And Joey and Shellie- such nice and genuine people who are now like family.

Adult family get together

The property was as pictured - you are not always sure that will be the case. There is marsh as far as the eye can see, very remote. However, we just wanted to be together and the lodge was perfect for our family group of ten - clean, very comfortable and well supplied. On site property managers responded within 5 minutes when I alerted them to the fact that the power had gone out during the night (stormy) and the backup generator had not started automatically, however they did not hover, nor did we see them unless we called. We especially enjoyed the elevated screened in porch - sitting out there watching the sunrise with our morning coffee in hand or eating dessert during sunset, listening to the birds and bugs and watching the alligators from our safe perch. It was everything we had hoped for.

Better than we could have imagined

We had a great time at the Miller Green Lodge. The Lodge was even nicer than the pics. The property was beautiful. The caretakers were super friendly and accommodating. They took us out on the airboat. They took my son and his friend fishing. They set us up to go crabbing. And they set us up for a crab boil. The kids had a great time driving around the property and checking everything out. We booked this as a "covid vacation". It far exceeded our expectations. We are absolutely going back.

Husbands 50th Birthday

Renting this property for my husbands 50th birthday has probably been one of the best things I’ve ever done for him and his friends. There were 9 of them and they haven’t shut up yet!!!! They said the property was awesome and the wildlife was abundant. Joey and Shellie went over and above to show the group an excellent time while on the property. The guys said it was a trip they will never forget. Joey and Shellie are like family now and we appreciate everything that they did during their stay! Gratefully, LESLEY & THE TEXAS REDNECKS ❤️

Great, secluded getaway.

Beautiful, secluded location. Property managers were great people who were there if we needed anything. Lodge was even better than the pictures show. Great area to hunt or fish from. Lots of wildlife around. Couldn’t ask for a better weekend.

Relaxing

This is a great property if you want to get away from everything. If you like the outdoors and is a good hidden place to stay. We definitely will be back.

Amazing property!

Came here for a bachelor party just to get away from the city. The property is beautiful and there is plenty of wildlife to check out. The house is very nice and was very comfortable for our group of 8 to sleep. Host was very responsive and quickly helped with any of our needs and questions. Plenty of land to explore, we didn’t even get to all of it!

Beautiful Relaxing Retreat

This beautiful property was built for hunting, but offers so much more! It’s isolated and very peaceful yet teaming with wildlife. Joey and the hands made sure that we had everything we needed, helped us fish, and took us on a great airboat tour. They offered a lot of other activities including a boat ride in White Lake, ATVs, and frogging, but we mostly just enjoyed the peace and quiet. Quentin was extremely accommodating to our groups needs. He was extremely responsive and understanding. We had a wonderful experience all around. Our stay was fantastic and we will definitely look for the opportunity to get back!

Why they chose this property

Experience nature untouched. The amount of wildlife is unbelievable. The sounds are so vibrant and breath taking. The quality of this facility is unprecedented as are the guides that manage this facility. Those that have rented this facility wish they had stayed longer. You will not regret and this will be an experience for a lifetime

What makes this property unique

All hunts are included in the $500/night cost for the lodge rental. Guides work off tips

For duck hunting; four hunters are included in the $500 purchase of one night’s stay in the lodge. If you have more than four hunters wanting to participate, there is an additional fee of $150 per hunter per day, with the maximum set at six hunters in total. Guides work off tips.

For alligator hunting; if more than one person would like to participate in a hunt, each member added to the group must rent an additional night at the lodge; for example, if two guests would like to hunt, then you must rent the lodge for two nights, making the total cost $1,000. We cap groups at a maximum of four hunters. Each hunter can shoot up to three gators and is allowed to pick one for keeping. If you would like to have your gator professionally skinned and tanned, there will be an additional cost applied. Guides work off tips.
