Please note: There is a fenced stream in the farmland.. Situated in the owners’ grounds on a 16th-century Grade II listed site, these well-appointed, beamed holiday cottages (PCCX and PCCY) occupy a truly peaceful setting. Located amidst 1066 countryside and ancient woodlands, this was once part of the Ashburnham family estate. Combe Hill Farm is ideally placed for visiting many NT and English Heritage sites, including Batemans - home of Rudyard Kipling, Battle Abbey and Bodiam Castle. The famous Glyndebourne Festival takes place from May to August and the ancient town of Lewes celebrates Bonfire Night with a magnificent procession and firework display. Hastings, with old fishermen’s huts and fresh fish, is worth a visit, as is the cobbled town of Rye and beautiful golden sand and dunes of Camber which await exploration. Shop and pub 1 mile.

A very attractive spot, enhanced by the excellent weather experienced. Very quiet. Not too difficult to get to surrounding towns and the many National Trust and English Heritage properties. Clean and generally well equipped, with ample storage/hanging, though, as reported by others, wifi was a bit hit and miss.

We enjoyed our stay at the dairy very much.

We enjoyed our stay at the dairy very much. Lovely location, beautiful surroundings and an ideal base to visit attractions such as Sissinghurst and Great Dixter as well as accessing the coast where Winchelsea is a jewel of a village. For us a dishwasher rather than a washing machine would have been more useful but washing up by hand wasn't a problem. Wonderful garden, sitting out on the lawn in the September sunshine watching planes overhead in the blue skies was a memorable way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Location provides for easy access to the Sussex and Kent countryside for trips out and peaceful solitude if that is your intention. We used it as a base to revisit old haunts that were days out for us and family when we lived in the south east. Cosy room for 2 but not cramped either.

Excellent cottage in a stunning location.

Excellent cottage in a stunning location. It was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Only negative was the wi-fi which was a bit spasmodic but, hey, what the heck, we weren't there to surf the internet. I managed to leave behind a pair of sandals but the lovely lady owner rang me and then sent them to me at her expense. I certainly recommend this holiday let and would definitely stay there again.
