Cheap at a cost

Great location, excellent staff but the room was awful. It was super noisy, it smelt musty and the aircon struggled in the heat.

Historically beautiful

If you want to stay on the grand canal in a 14th century historical building then this is the place for you. Absolutely beautiful. We paid €60 from the trai. Station for a water taxi direct to the private dock. Very special experience. Our room wasn't ready but the staff were amazingly accomodating and took us to the common lounge overlooking the grand canal - coffee while we waited. Our room was in the annexe but had views onto the side canal - gondolas slowly past our window which was a beautiful experience also. Room was large with 2 bedrooms - so much space for 3 women to spread themselves out. The staff in this hotel are superb - nothing is a problem to them, they smile, they are amazing. Breakfast was great, so much choice. I cannot fault this hotel in any way - price is also good as we used a free night reward for one of our nights.

Excellent hotel, friendly, lovely

Excellent hotel with wonderful, friendly service (English-speaking for those who need it), only exception is difficulties with the air conditioner which is centrally-controlled and broke down twice leaving our room over-cooled to an unreasonable extent. Staff were as helpful as could be and did indeed go beyond our expectations, even if we were freezing during it. Very close to everything anyone would want to be close to in Florence. We will definitely choose this hotel on our next visit.

Great location

Location was great. Quiet, charming, easy walk to attractions & train station. Restaurant next door was amazing. If you are twin sharing & splitting the bill, make sure you tell them before you check in as they charge the full amount to the card used for the booking straight away. Shower recess in bathroom very small.

Location, location, location

Fantastic location, right around the corner from the Duomo, and close to everything else. Room was bright and clean but the bed was two singles pushed together which created an uncomfortable dent in the centre. We also had issues with the plumbing - I know maintenance issues happen from time-to-time, but this did take the shine off the place for us. The staff were a little cool when we repeatedly mentioned aforesaid plumbing issues, which again slightly tarnished our view of the place. Overall all though we were happy with our choice, and in love with its great position in the city.

Perfect location, very close to the heart of city.

This hotel was absolutely fabulous - great location (just 1 block from the Cathedral), staff was excellent and did all they possibly could to assist me, especially as my sense of direction was hopeless - however, Florence is a wonderful little City to wander, even if you are a little lost. My room was just perfect for me, travelling alone. I will definitely be returning to Hotel Benivieni whenever to travel to Firenze!

Excellent location in Florence historical centre

Our room was immaculate and cleaned promptly each day. The breakfast was nice, if a bit limited... But the coffee was awful... There was some mention about this hotel having a garden (in other reviews?) but we didn't find one. The hotel is family run and the staff speak English and are very helpful in organising tours or providing information. Being so close to the Piazza del Duomo, there was some noise in the streets at night. I would definitely stay there again, but might request a room not on the street :-)

beautiful, hotel within earshot of church bells

Bieni Vieni Hotel is very conveniently located in central Florence, just two minutes walk from the Duomo. The internal decor is very pleasing and the staff are friendly and helpful. We were told that breakfast would be served in the room at 0730 hours but it took a while to arrive. You can have breakfast in their downstairs dining room at a time of your own choosing and have a wider choice range for the meal. At 7am the chiming of church bells wakes you, but otherwise we found the hotel clean, quiet and comfortable. We recommend it.

A family owned and run hotel. A 2 minute walk from the Duomo. I have no negative comments to make about this hotel. It looked good. It felt right. The owners were ultra helpful. Breakfast had a wide selection.

Hotel Benivieni, In the heart of Florence

We recently stayed at Hotel Benivieni and had a wonderful stay. Our room was very clean and comfortable over the 4 days we were there. Location was amazing, close to railway station but most important was in the heart of Florence. Good restaurants and shops and walking distance to all the best sight seeing spots. Staff very helpful regarding tours and places of interest. Safe location which was very important to us as we were 3 women travelling together. Excellent breakfast with a good selection everyday. Would highly recommend Benivieni.

Great location, pity the hotel wasn't

Generally felt unhappy. We immediately noted the street noise level and ask to change the room. I was told that I had a great room and a great deal and even for 1000 Euro, there was no rooms left in Florence. The room was too cold (20C) (the default stated was 23C) but the a/c did not respond. I complained but was told the a/c was off in the whole building and did I want them to turn on the heating (it was warm outside). A few days later, the a/c miraculously stopped blowing cold. Guess too many other complaints. The noise from this small street was disturbing, 11pm - 2am it seemed like the was garbage and bottle collection. We could hear people in the street from the bar next door saying their farewells etc in the early hours. We had a room in Rome that was on a noisy street but its double glazed window, sealed like a bank vault. The bathroom basin drained slowly. Breakfast was most ordinary and it felt like the place was run by a family that put on a "nice" face but were bored with the job and would rather be elsewhere.
