It was dusty and dirty, the showers were unclean and one was broken. The kitchen was very basic and the communal area was okay but the layout didn't make sense. Also the dryer cost 50p for 5mins and hardly dried

Had a room for four which was what was wanted. The bar doenstairs offered good value meals - take them u on the offer. Receotion could be a friendlpier experience. The housekeeping staff were great. It's a hostel in a good position in the city.

Would stay there again!

This hostel has excellent facilities, I booked the 4-bed ensuite for a really good price. Everything was clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay there again! 3 minutes walk to Central station, metro station, main shopping streets. There is even a TV in the room!

The location is perfect ,near the centre if the city ,but also the railway station ,a lot of noises when train comes and goes .no kitchen ,no kettle to boil water .new linen ,which is fantastic .

Exactly what you pay for

I wasn't expecting much for a solo room in a hostel, but apart from the usual elements of a hostel, I thought this was very good. The room was very clean, the shower was small, but the water pressure and warmth were exceptional. The mattress and pillow could have been a lot better. The place is noisy, both inside (banging doors, other guests talking loudly in the echoed hallway), and outside on the street, so pack earplugs. One elevator wasn't working, so be prepared to use the stairs, or wait. But for the price, this was better than I expected. The wifi was fast for a free service, even if it annoyingly kept asking me to check in via facebook. The staff were very good, especially trying to get me a taxi to the airport at 3am, when the very 'merry' locals outside were trying to steal everyone's taxis outside. Thank you for being so good and friendly.

Outdated and unsocial

The rooms were quite old with squeaky bunkbeds. 2 power points to share amongst 4 beds. Most of the travelers during my stay were middle aged and unkempt. Not a social youth hostel.

Awful

The corridors stank. This was exceeded by the odour of our tiny room. The culprit seemed to be an open drain in the shower (no cover). It smelled like sewerage and something rotting. Two windows but only one was allowed to open by 5 cm. the room was boiling despite cold weather outside. We had to buy room freshener and cover the drain with a towel. It was loud, dank and depressing. We had one look at the kitchen and decided to eat out. We have stayed in a lot of hostels but this was the worst by far. Good location and I hope if you stay in a suite then it's a better experience but the 4th floor was awful.

Not the best - needs improvement

I was only there for two nights and the best part about it was the other roomies. The toilet wouldn't flush, there was one plug (to holes) to share between the four of us, I could have murdered the seagulls (not hotels fault) but....no fan in shower, the breakfast was shocking for £5 and the lockers were broken. Oh and one staff member was friendly :/ otherwise on a positive note, good location, reasonable price and lots of brochures lol.
