This cottage is flooded with natural light that accentuates the high vaulted ceilings and furnishings that will provide you with all the comforts of home. Our kitchen has all the necessities for preparing meals which can be enjoyed on the private back patio. Choose a dip in the year round indoor heated pool, a soak in the hot tub or take advantage of the exercise room which are all steps away from the cottage.
The Starfish Cottage also offers ample parking in the front, which accommodates larger vehicles, as well as additional guest parking across the road.

We really loved staying in ocean side .lots of walking trails and sities to see.The pool was only a few steps away. The place we stayed was excellent ..Everthing you needed was there.It seemed to be a home away from home. I would go back there again ..Everyone was so friendly. Nice too look out your windows and see little bunny rabbits running around.

Great spot for exploring Parksville

This property is so clean and well cared for. It was perfectly comfortable and the kitchen was much better stocked than most places. They even had board games and colouring supplies for the kids. The pool is a great feature, although it gets quite noisy when busy. I would absolutely rebook this for another vacation. Lots to do just a short walk or drive away.

Great Family Vacation Spot!

We loved the house - it was clean and comfortable and plenty of room for everyone. Two good size bedrooms downstairs and the kids loved having the upstairs loft bedroom with their own bathroom and TV. Fantastic location for activities: minigolf is a 2 minute walk, a huge park nearby, and lots of cool spots within a short drive (Coombs, Cathedral Grove, etc). We also did the 5 minute walk to the resort nearby and had a fabulous dinner at the steakhouse/restaurant. The location of the house in the community could not be better if you want to use the pool - it is a 30 second walk. The pool was really nice and was never crowded even though we went everyday at least once and at different times of the day. The area was quiet and clean, no noise at night. Would highly reccomend!!

This beautiful cottage really is a home away from home! We are very picky when it comes to staying somewhere other than our own home and Starfish Cottage was perfect! We had the most wonderful time staying at Starfish Cottage. Wonderfully located, close to a lot of beautiful beaches (Parksville Community Beach & Rathtrevor beach), and local restaurants (The Black Goos Inn!). The kids loved the warm water indoor pool and spent hours in there playing the first couple of days we arrived when the weather was a bit to cool for the beach and ocean swimming. Our kids loved it! Evening swim after dinner to drain their batteries! Our host Julie was friendly and easy to communicate with. It was a pleasure dealing with her. Starfish Cottage was clean, comfortable, and very welcoming. The cottage provided a home-away-from-home with a well stocked kitchen of dishes, cups, and the basic cooking pots/pans, and utensils, allowing me to prepare a simple dinner on our first night and simple breakfast of bacon and eggs in the mornings since we're all slow when first waking up and like to lounge around before hitting the beach around 1130am. I loved the coffee maker provided that allowed me to preset a timer for the next day were I wake up to freshly brewed coffee waiting for me. And THANK YOU for providing coffee too! (insert heart emoji here). Check-out was very easy and Julie didn't have a long list of chores for us! Expectations at check-out was basic common sense and very acceptable. Respectful to both host and guests. Most definitely my family will be returning to Starfish Cottage in the years to come.

Spent 4 days in the cottage, and it was great. We were worried about the hot temperatures, but even without AC the fans in the rooms/bedrooms and the shade kept the cottage from getting too warm. Great location to walk to the ocean. Would stay again.

Our group of 5 recently stayed at Starfish Cottage. We found the cottage to be exceptionally clean throughout and we had no issues during our stay. The cottage is perfectly located within the development as it is very close to the indoor pool and is only a 3 minute walk to the mini golf. We would not hesitate to book here again in the future.

Great spot!

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It is exactly as promised in the pictures, and very comfortable. The beds were each very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes, including lots of glasses, which is much appreciated when traveling with kids. The location is convenient for Rathstrevor and Parksville- a nice walk to the beach, but a bit long for younger kids. However, there is plenty of parking at Rathstrevor, so you can also reach it in a few minutes by car.

Everything was immaculately clean. There were also amenities in the kitchen that we were not expecting and Julie even left us a bottle of wine. It is not beachside but there’s a lovely walk through Rathtrevor campsite to the beach. Would stay again for sure.

Comfortable and Cozy Place to Stay!

Our stay at the Starfish Cottage was very comfortable and enjoyable! The cottage is as nice as the description on the Vrbo website. It is clean and cozy and feels like home! We were 4 adults - 3 siblings and our elderly parent. Aside from a few steps up to get into the cottage, everything was accessible with a walker and the main floor master bedroom and adjoining bathroom made it easy for dad to move around. The location of the cottage is perfect for exploring the area! So much to see and do! We thouroughly enjoyed our stay!

I am the property manager for my mom, Penny. We are both originally from North Vancouver. I moved to Parksville in 2004 and then she moved over at the end of 2005. Penny is retired and I am work for the Vancouver Island Health Authority.

Oceanside Village Resort is rated #1 accommodation in the Parksville area. We love it because it is a small community of detached cottages close to Rathtrevor Beach as well as Parksville Beach. Cottage rentals give you a whole home for the price of a hotel room. Oceanside Village Resort also provides on property dining, shopping, swimming, and mini golf. Outdoor grilling and a private back patio is also a definite bonus.
