Nice

We had a great stay. Kelley was communicative about the details and responded to questions in a timely manner. Location was convenient to downtown Black Mountain. The only issue is the lack of cell phone service, which not a fault of the property, just stating so others are aware. You have to use WiFi calling. I recommend this property for your next visit to the Black Mountain area.

Beautiful View, Accommodating Host

The view was truly stunning, and the location was incredible. Kelley was kind, understanding, and extremely communicative when we had a car breakdown and needed some flexibility on the check-out time. She even offered some help! She made a stressful situation much, much easier.

Sunrise and sunsets were amazing!

Our great niece’s wedding was in Black Mountain and I chose this place because our family could spread out comfortably and we could cook our own breakfast each morning. The extra special surprise was the view of a full moon rising from behind the mountains each night and shining down on the lake.

Convenient and comfortable

Large place with a great location and fantastic views. Although it’s a dated house it was pretty clean and had everything you would need. Amazing views from multiple rooms. Photos are not as good as the actual view.

Took us back to the Scottish Highlands!

They really nailed it with this "Million Dollar View" description- the clouds wandering in below the mountains and above the pristine reservoir provide an ever changing sight that is captivating and reminded our family of the lochs surrounding the highlands of Scotland. The house was great for kids and adults alike - we even got to see a few bear cubs milling about outside. Kelley, the property manager, was extremely responsive and kind. The kitchen had plenty of fridge & prep space as we were cooking for 16. Love how the bunk room is off the game room for the older kids- they were able to claim the bottom floor and we heard them laughing into the night playing pool and poker. This place felt like home and we were sad to leave.

Family relaxation

My family enjoyed their downtime. The view was amazing. As a flatlander, a little nervous driving at night. Thoroughly enjoyed our time away from home.

My experience in Black mountain

The place overall was great although we do believe that some parts of the property needed some fixes. The deck in the backyard has a board piece that's broken and the railing is falling apart.

Girls’ Trip

This was a wonderful place for six long time friends to stay while enjoying the beautiful Asheville area! Everyone had their own room with no more than two sharing a bathroom. House sits high on the mountain with a breathtaking view. House had everything we needed and the some. One highlight was seeing 5 black bears several days on our trip up or down the mountain!

Million dollar views

Our family very much enjoyed our stay in this property and especially the amazing mountain views. The kitchen was well stocked and the hot tub was very relaxing. Steep drive up, but once you are there the walk into the house is flat.

Girls weekend

Myself and five of my besties had a fabulous weekend getaway in Asheville and Laurel Ridge was the perfect place to relax and unwind at the end of our busy days. We found the house neat and clean and very well stocked with everything you need. The kitchen always seems to be a gathering spot for us and I found it to be larger than it appears in the pictures. The furniture was nice and comfy, and the deck and views....absolutely stunning!

Mountain Retreat

First, let me say that the pictures do not really show how nice this house really is! It is a beautiful home perfect for that mountain getaway! We had a great time at our teacher retreat enjoying all of this space. The view is absolutely amazing! Getting there is a bit of an adventure (very narrow and winding roads and a very sharp turn on the road that leads to the home) as you are truly in the mountains away from it all, but the town of Black Mountain is not far. There was plenty of space inside and outside for all 17 of us to enjoy the porches and the hot tub was a plus! Kelley was great at responding to my emails if we had questions or any problems. There were just a few issues, the icemaker was extremely slow and we did not have any ice after the first night and that was a bit of an issue with that many people staying so we had to purchase some ice when we went to town, for the rest of our stay (Kelley offered reimbursement for the ice purchased.) One of the bathrooms leaked through the ceiling over the steps which caused some slips, but no injuries (thank goodness) and we had to use some towels to soak that water up. Kelley was quick to responding to this situation and I'm sure it will be repaired for the next group! One of the bedrooms needed a bit more cleaning before our stay. Overall, the home is spacious and beautiful and our stay was just amazing! Definitely a gem! Kelley was great to work with for our needs and we would stay again!

Home away from home

This property was absolutely beautiful. It was spacious and everyone was able to sleep comfortably. I love the feel of this property, it was so familiar. The kitchen was absolutely perfect to accommodate the cooking and big enough that my family was able to sit around the island and just hang out while the food was being prepared. I love this property and will definitely rent out again.

Great views

We enjoyed our stay. The driveway is very steep but added to the experience. The view was great. Some updating/maintenance could be done and a new hot tub will be needed soon but overall we enjoyed our time thanks!
