Amazing Property

We had a wonderful time in this beautiful house. The view from the deck were amazing and the living space and layout of the house was fantastic. The path down to the dock is a fun adventure and it was very quiet and remote. We did not meet the host, but they were prompt and lovely with all communication. I would absolutely recommend this place for a group of friends/couples or to families. There are a few other houses near by on the property, but noise and parking were not an issue. Hopefully we get to stay again.

Amazing Location

We absolutely loved our tume here. The hill down is easy but be prepared to get a workout on the climb up. Take the foot path up we think its a bit easier climb. Kokanee Falls are amazing. Check out Bannock Point for some cliff jumping. Slocan Market on saturday was pretty great, lots of cool stuff. Fishing was great. Frog Peak Cafe for breakfast. Valleyview Golf and Slocan Lake Golf was fun for a quick nine. We really loved the area. The house has everything you would need.

Slocan Retreat

Great place high above Slocan Lake with amazing lake views. The place has everything you would need. Internet was adequate, entertainment was good. The place was well stocked and very comfortable. The lake is quite a hike down to the dock. It's not for the faint of heart, especially in the blazing summer heat. I would not recommend this for kids under 8 or adults over 60. You are informed of this but it's a bit different when you actually see it. I suspect this is where the liability waiver comes from, you will be asked to sign one. The owner did offer to provide a ride down to the lake if needed and could be accommodated. There is a nice beach close by though where kids can play and swim that doesn't get very busy. There is also a nice dog swimming area beside the public beach which was a great place for them to cool off. Overall it's an amazing place in a beautiful area, the deck views are second to none and your free from any noise pollution. I also enjoyed the view of the stars in the evening, as well as some spectacular shots of lightning through the valley.

Lovely quiet getaway

As 5 60+ women, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was quiet and very comfortable. Lots of room for both together and alone time. The views are stunning! As a result of the long trek down to the dock, Lyle arranged for transport of our kayaks, which was just a bonus. He was most communicative and helpful in all of our questions and our needs.

Quiet and Beautiful

Lyle was an amazing host and the property was stunning. Slocan lake is arguably the most beautiful lake in BC and this property takes full advantage of views, a quiet location with very close proximity (10mins) to Silverton and New Denver. It was a great place to relax and take full advantage of direct access to the lake. We rented paddle boards and kayaks from Lyle for the week and used them everyday. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful cabin big enough for everyone and everything. Trek to water a challenge.

The cabin and dealing with Lyle was a very pleasant experience. Lyle was quick to respond to our questions and requests. We would definitely book this location again. The lake is calm, very few boats and ideal for kayaking or floating. We usually were the only ones on the dock. We met some lovely people in the cabin above the first week and spent quite of bit of time with them. They were lovely. The only downfall is the trek down to the water. The path is quite steep and even though we had quite a few "young" people with us, we all agreed it was a workout!! We were warned beforehand but until you walk it you have no idea what your up for. We carried some things up and down but wouldn't recommend it because it's quite trek. We ended up taking a car to New Denver to pick up the people that didn't or couldn't do the path during our two week stay. Other than the path the dock, accommodations, and location were ideal for our group. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to get away. The views are unbelievable.

AMAZING FAMILY VACATION

We spent an amazing week at the cottage. This cottage has plenty of space for a family of 10 people (6 adults and 4 kids). The lake (water is crystal clear), waterfall and sandy beaches (right across the lake) are just what we were looking for. We spent hours outdoors at the beach and on the dock swimming, fishing and enjoying the sun.. The view from the main deck is just breath taking. Lyle (the owner) was always available to help and/or answer any questions we had. The trail that leads to the lake is a good exercise which was no issues for our 7, 8 and 11 years old granddaughters. Just make sure you bring a good pair of running/hiking shoes. We made amazing memories.

Diamond in the rough

Adventure my family will never forget ---AWESOME!!! --- Arrived at the property at 10 pm --- my 4 grandkids immediately fell in love with the (Mansion ) cabin --- they had sleeping arrangements made before the luggage was even brought in. --- things only got better from there --- going out onto sundeck was another pleasant surprise --- a star filled sky revealed an outline of a lake far below --- morning walk confirmed, a 1000 ft elevation drop to the lake --- A fair sized warf with lots of water toys like paddle boards was another smash hit with kids --- yes we did luck out with excellent weather, but the point i would like to make is the cabin by itself was more than worth the price of rental by itself --- cabin was well stocked, nice touches like fire table, lifting weights, etc --- spending a few days alone with a loved one in a secluded place like that certainly appealing to me --- in closing, satalite, wifi, cell signal were more than adequate.

Beautiful Slocan Lake

We really enjoyed our stay at beautiful cabin number #4. The communication with the host was flawless from beginning to end, and any questions were answered promptly. The "cabin" is a gorgeous two-story home that is very spacious and clean and in great condition. The house could easily accommodate a large group (two families with kids, would be no problem). Our family has rented quite a few vacation homes in this area and I would have to say that this one is very well equipt. If I had to provide constructive criticism it would be that there could be more plates and bowls (if you had a big group you would not have enough ). Movies, map books, reading books, games, etc. were a really nice touch. Unfortunately, there was heavy smoke in the area so we were not able to see the full extent of the view from the deck, but it did not take away from our great time. The property itself is secluded and lovely. The access road (1.5km) from the highway is bumpy, but do able in a two wheel drive car. The path to the dock is a doozy. Make sure you have what you need before you head down! Or maybe you enjoy a good (but short) work out, and want to shuttle gear for your group! The result is worth it though as you are rewarded with swimming in beautiful and pristine Slocan Lake (second to none, in my opinion). Kayaks are available for use, which we really loved. The waterfall right by the property is absolutely breathtaking. Worth the trip just for the easy access to the waterfall! Also, keep in mind you can stay at the lovely cabin and use it as a springboard to all of the other excellent places to go and experience in the area. We had such a nice time I am sure we will be back in the near future!

Quiet retreat for a large group

Gorgeous views from this quiet spot, a well equipped and maintained property, perfect for a larger group with open concept space. We enjoyed group meals at the large dining table and spent evenings relaxing by the fire on the beautiful deck overlooking the lake. Sarah and Chris were welcoming and quick to respond to any questions we had, providing an informative welcome package. Access to the water possible from the property, though be prepared for a walk down a fairly steep gravel road. You can fish right off the dock or next to the nearby waterfalls. Kayaks and SUP boards were available for guests to use as well. Having a vehicle made it possible to explore local highlights, would definitely suggest a 4 by 4 if planning on exploring nearby hikes. Internet and phone service can be spotty in the area and a booster has been installed on the property. All in all, it was a great fit for what our group was looking for. Would recommend.
