Relaxing Vacation

Spent a week here and was super relaxing. The lake, beach, and dock are was fabulous. It was private and beautiful. The accommodations were segregated, rooms were small and the sofa bed was terrible. It still worked for our purpose, but would have preferred to have everyone together. There were only two showers, with one being outdoors, so that was unexpected. The kids enjoyed the separate cabana and bar. It was great having Chris on site, as he was friendly and super helpful.

Nice time in the Kootenays

Lakefront access is awesome at this property, as is the hot tub and front deck. The listing is a bit deceiving as we weren’t expecting 1 bed and bathroom to be in a unit well behind the primary place. It’s quite small but lots of outdoor space. Deck is a bit dangerous for kids as there’s a big drop with no railing. Great location for a bachelor/bachelorette party, for sure.

Perfect fall getaway!

Truly enjoyed all the property had to offer. On-site manager is great, location can’t be beat for water activities, long walks and exploring nearby towns. Property is very clean, beds are comfortable, kitchen supplies are top notch. Chris left us local coffee beans and groceries for breakfast - thank you!

This property has it all! We were holidaying with our adult children and the bar, with ice machine, hot tub and separate cabana was perfect. The beautiful dock and access to our boat, kayaks, and paddle boards. Not to mention to beautiful lake view!!

Kootenay Lake Beachside Holiday

We enjoyed a great vacation. The property was very private and we greatly enjoyed morning coffee on the deck, watching the birds as they captured fish from the lake. The outdoor shower was quaint, but a little less so on cooler/windy mornings. Chris was a great host, and very responsive to all questions and requests.

Resort Style Vacation Home

Fabulous vacation rental on Kootenay Lake!! Chris is very kind and accommodating to all our requests. He ensured our first morning was easy stocking the kitchen with breakfast items. Hot tub was regularly cleaned during our week. Kids enjoyed using the paddle boards and canoe. Overall it was a great stay!!! Now if the smoke would just clear up...

Beautiful Property

This property was great, and very accommodating. The only thing we needed to bring was our groceries. The views were spectacular from the house. We had lots to keep us entertained right on the property itself, with the lake, the canoe, SUP, hot tub. The bar feature was definitely a hit with everyone. If only the smoke from the fires had stayed away, it would have been perfect. Chris was very helpful though, and even brought over an air purifier for us. I would definitely come back again! The kids are already planning it out.

Just lovely!

Great beach house in a beautiful spot- well appointed and felt very private. Love the outdoor shower!! Christopher was responsive but almost invisible so we felt like we had the place to ourselves. It was super hot and smokey outside one day - but we stayed cool and comfortable in main house. We recommend this place for a beach getaway.

Summer Hot Spot

This property is in a beautiful location. It is close enough to Nelson to visit as needed and right next door to a provincial park which was great for walking trails, childrens playground. and a nature centre. The beachfront of this property is spectacular. Nice, clean sand and shallow entry into the water. The water was so warm this year that swimming and boating was a pleasure. The decks had nice furniture to relax on and awnings that helped provide some shade from the sun. There is no natural shade on the property (no trees). The main building has been renovated and is comfortable. The two bedrooms are very small and getting into bed is a challenge. No closets in the bedrooms. For the expensive nightly rate I was expecting amenities that were of a higher quality. The dishware was old, broken and cracked and limited--we were washing dishes frequently. Only four mugs. Glassware was minimal and poor quality.Acrylic glasses supplied and disposable plastic glasses available. Poor cutlery. Knives not sharp and of poor quality. An abundance of pots which were of good quality. Beds were very comfortable. The linens are older and could be replaced. Towels for bathrooms were older and greyed with age and use. Beach towels were plentiful and in good condition. The cupboards were full with outdated products left from previous renters. No place to store the food stuff we brought. Fridge was full of condiments, with duplicates. I would prefer to have the fridge fully cleaned out and same with cupboards. Some spices and quality salt and pepper would be appreciated. There is an outdoor shower which is very private and lovely. However, again there were about five old pieces of soap and quite a few bottles of shampoo and conditioner, obviously left by previous guests. Really enjoyed using the outside bar. It had a great fridge and ice maker. There was a TV in it which could be watched from the hot tub. Hot tub was very clean. The third bedroom was a separate cabana with bunk beds and a queen bed. Nice to have this space. Not totally complete yet. Windows missing (covered with plastic) and not all windows had blinds. It would be nice to have a locking screen door as an entry into this cabin. Separate porch with comfortable chairs which provided a nice private spot to sit and read. Over all, we enjoyed our stay and lucked out with fabulous weather, no fire or smoke worries. My chief disappointment was the poor quality accessories in the kitchen and bedroom.

Relaxing Retreat

We had a wonderful time at this property. Even though part of the beach is shared, we did not have any visitors other than geese and a deer. So, it felt very private. Loved the hot tub, BBQ, stand up board, and canoe. Great amenities. Chris was very attentive and friendly. I would definitely recommend this oasis.

Stayed cool in 44 degree weather

This property lived up to everything it promised. It was a cool place to retreat from the craziest heat wave in Canadian history and provided more than enough entertainment options. We spent our days paddle boarding, floating and jumping off the dock, and making plenty of margaritas with the help of the ice maker and massive fridge in the Cabana. We will be back next summer! Chris was so responsive, helpful and even offered tips to enjoy the rest of our trip through BC.

Relaxing Paradise

The location of this property can’t be beat. It was so peaceful and beautiful. The house was perfect for what we needed but the outdoor space is what makes this truly paradise. Check in was simple and Chris was always available to answer any questions I had.

Loved It

Stayed with freinds for a week. Over all house has what you need. The bedrooms are small but all you need is the bed anyways and they were comfortable. The out door shower is nice. The deck is large with a great bar and fridges for your drinks plus a small freezer for your food /ice. We enjoyed our early morning hot tub to later playing in the water or the great access to the boat. We enjoyed the Sandy beach for games, the deck/bar for drinks. Later evenings a sit down dinner at the large dinning table. Sitting around the fire at nights was a great way to visit. Chris was very nice and helpful. We didn't want to leave and can't wait to go back. Hopefully we can make that happen again next year. Thanks for the much needed wonderful stay. Elaine, Doug, Brad, Linda, Ed and Lisa

Mainly great but...

Beware that this is not the fully private property as described as there were two other families with their 2 campers and 5 kids sharing the property. That being said, the outdoor area is fantastic, the dock is perfect for a boat and the hot tub was a treat on those cooler nights. Chris (who is onsite in the other cabin on the property) was extremely helpful and immediately responsive when necessary. Would likely rent here again but would be rolling the dice as to who you are sharing the property with, we were very fortunate the the other folk were very respectful and quiet and the kids were all great.

Beautiful!

This property is stunning and we loved our stay! Chris was super helpful and very friendly! I would go back anytime. The water is so clear, one of my dogs balls actually sunk about 15 ft from shore, and we were able to see it from the deck and dive for it. It's just beautiful there. My only feedback would be that the advertisement says 'secure private oasis' but I would disagree slightly. On the same gated lot, there is a house that people live in. The property line goes down beside the cabina to the dock, so the dock is open for those tenants to use. This is not a problem but I have a reactive dog and was looking forward to the privacy but with people coming down to the dock unannounced, it would make him react and generally scare people (he's a big dog). It just wasn't as relaxing as I had hoped for this reason. The property is also fully gated which was a big selling point for me as we were bringing pets and it was nice to feel like we didn't have to be concerned they'd wander off. However, we would close the gate and whenever we looked back, it would be open. I understand there are people that live in the other house in the lot and they DID NOT bother us by any stretch, but perhaps it should be mentioned in the ad. Also, a booklet with home instructions would be great, but Chris came by to give us the details. Also, huge kudos to Chris as I had actually forgotten pieces of jewellery that are very important to me, and he very carefully packaged them up and mailed them to me promptly.

This place is beautiful

The property is nice and private and well stocked. I didn’t realize the it would have cooking items such as condiments, and seasonings, etc. The lake is nice and clean and my daughter had a blast playing on the beach. The property manager is very friendly and helpful if you need anything, and the neighbors are very nice. Would definitely stay here again.

Sandy beach, beautiful property

The time at the cabin was just what we needed. Chris was very responsive and friendly. Any issues were quickly resolved. The house and property is as the pictures, there is a managers house/possible rental on the property as well that property manager stays in. The property is gated and fences down property line (great for keeping dogs in). Pros: - Outdoor shower (rain head w/ detachable nozzle) - great water pressure - beach, lake, dock - access your canoe, boogie boards, and paddle board (no kayak avail when we were there) - bar with seating and massive beer fridge and blender great for doing up drinks while on the beach - quiet neighbors (friendly as well) - very comfortable beds - large eating area, fully stocked kitchen - lots of towels - Nelson is full of friendly people - check in and out was painless Cons: (more or less suggestions) - small bedrooms, little storage space (works for sleeping but pack light - had to store pantry items in the bins we brought because cupboards were full - definitely leaving a couple cupboards/ drawers empty would be an idea) - no access to laundry on property - we took ours to Nelson - there a couple laundry mats to choose from about 15 mins away, definitely on-site laundry would be a bonus especially with kids in tow - property address did not come up in GPS as it doesn’t recognize property to be in Nelson - confirm directions is wise but quite frankly not hard to get to once across the Nelson orange bridge - “kids cabana” is comfy and airy but door does not lock - would be nice for security - same with bar... door does not lock and leaving all your alcohol out there in the fridge free for the taking (even though the neighbors are great - part of the beach is public so who knows who can come up there) - house manual on how things run, property info Would have been nice - lastly, the shower was a dream but more privacy would be great-there is a little area outside the shower that is partially hidden but anyone on the lower part of the deck or the bar can see right in. Perhaps a privacy curtain or shudders in the door way and a little bench to set clothes/ toiletry kit could be added All in all we would definitely go back ... all these suggestions are just measly things in the grand scheme of it all. The kids LOVED it, the dogs LOVED it, and the adults could relax with bevy in hand enjoying the amazing view and quiet surrounding. I would highly recommend staying here!
