Bittersweet experience
We had a bittersweet experience with this accommodation.
Cons: the owner contacted us one week before to tell us we would have to bring 50 € cash to pay for the cleaning and another 300 as deposit. We were upset about that because normally everything is included in the bill we pay online. We contacted the customer service which said he wasn’t supposed to ask for cash and they sent him a form to add the extra money via the website so that we could pay with the credit card but he never filled it and maintained his idea of us bringing cash.
He contacted me everyday and was getting pissed off because I wasn’t answering quickly enough during ma vacation time. The owner couldn’t understand that we travel without phone data, using only wifi so that we weren’t reachable at all time.
He was really hard to deal with , answering rudely and putting pressure on us to arrive at a precise time because he wanted to give us the key in person but also saying that he has better things to do.
The whole week before arriving the accommodation was stressful and unpleasant because of his demands.
The other disappointment we had was to realize the accommodation is not at all where is was advertised. On the ad, the pin is right in the centre of Ste-Anne so we thought we could walk everywhere. However, the accommodation is high in the mountain a good 10-15 minutes by car from the town so nothing was walking distance. The owner said it’s not him who pin the address…
Wifi was also very slow.
Pros: however, the place was as beautiful as on the pictures. The area is quiet and safe. We had everything to cook even spices and oil. The view and the deck were amazing. The check out procedure was simple and the owner was much nicer in person than by writing. He welcomed us warmly.
