CITQ # 300664 Nature Escape guesthouse, in the heart of the Gatineau Park!

Your accommodations are spacious, sparkling clean, private, and peaceful. An artsy home away from home, tucked in the forest with lovely wood, vaulted ceilings, original art, fine art prints and photography.

The house (adjacent to our house) has a private separate entrance, and is perfectly suitable for families. Entryway patio includes bbq & table, and a cedar sauna and cold shower! Located in a residential area (no parties), we have a 9pm municipal quiet hour.

The house includes five, (sleeping 12, very comfortably) private, locking bedrooms, a full kitchen, living room, dining room, library/chess area, various hang out nooks, 2.5 bathrooms, full laundry, covered patio, gardens, hammocks, swing, fire pit, barbecue and private entrance.

The gamesroom has a modern tv to connect Apple and Android devices, a pool table, darts and shuffle board.
Tons of storage for sports equipment, and we offer a ski wax room in the winter, and a bike storage/cleaning/tuning area and tools in the summer.

Chelsea Velo Nordic B&B is nestled within the Gatineau hills, walking distance from the heart of Old Chelsea village, including the Gatineau Park visitor centre, many wonderful cafés, restaurants and stores, and most importantly, the Nordik Spa. Plus we’re just a 10 minute drive to downtown Ottawa, and 10 minutes to the charming village of Wakefield. Our fantastic location allows for easy access to both trail and town experiences.

Suitable for families, teams, or low-key groups.

Absolutely not suitable for house parties, we live next door, have neighbors, and the municipal outside quiet hour is 9pm.

Fiddle Festival

This was a lovely, large, clean rambling house. The owner was quick to respond to any issues we had. It does need a dishwasher, which he is installing soon. Also, it is not good for anyone with any mobility issues as there are steps in the entryway and an unexpected step to a landing in front of 2 of the bathrooms. The owner has installed motion activated lights to help avoid falls at night.

Amazing experience!

Our trip to Ottawa would not be possible if we hadn’t connected with Trevor. After our original reservation was cancelled the morning of, Trevor welcomed us into his beautiful home. We loved our time spent enjoying the comfy beds, great little kitchen that had it all, shuffle board and tons of DVD options! The location was perfect, close to everything we wanted to go on our trip. Thank you Trevor for your kindness and for helping us have a wonderful vacation as a family, despite the initial challenges.

A nice base to explore the area

Our group (2 families with kids and the grandparents) enjoyed staying at the Nature Guesthouse. It was a convenient location from which to explore the nation's capital and Gatineau Park. The house was not as clean as other guests have mentioned (there was old coffee in the percolator, unwashed pans in the oven and a half-eaten apple left on the railing). However it was a nice setting for our family gathering and had plenty of space for everyone. A dishwasher or a better sink and drying rack set-up would be useful. I wish we could come back in the winter to try the sauna and enjoy the xc-skiing!

Great location for large group

We stayed at the cottage with the family to celebrate the 60th wedding anniversary of our parents. The venue was perfect to have a large family gathering. The chalet itself is very nice, comfortable. Kitchen is a bit small for meal prep for large group but had everything we needed. Bedrooms are nice and with lots of space. Comfortable beds. Nice area to play pool and relax. Very nice covered porch. Only concerns are the stairs in the cottage. Not appropriate for people with disabilities or older people. The owners are very nice people, but important to mention that they live next door. I recommend this cottage.

Roomy and convenient

Shirt drive to both Old Chelsea and Gatineau park. Lots of bedrooms which are comfy and spacious. Living room/dining room could be bigger to accommodate a fuller house. Not enough chairs/couches for ten people. We were only three so did not impact us. Kitchen is small but well-stocked. Trevor and Alisha were very responsive and friendly. Provided great advice on local trails, which was especially appreciated given how busy the town and park were that weekend. Signs in house ask that windows not be opened were a bit ‘off-putting’. This is apparently to avoid loud groups annoying neighbours. Totally get it but We wanted to open them for fresh air and Trevor quickly said yes. Suggest the signs get removed from every window and just be really clear at check in to tell guests to shut windows if they are going to be noisy.

Girls getaway

Good place for a girls weekend! The cottage was very close to the spa, which was perfect. The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. We cooked a lot and the kitchen was a bit small for lots of meal prep but it was stocked well. There’s no dishwasher, which I would suggest putting in if possible! Trevor was very nice and easy to get in touch with. We would stay here again.

Family Trip

This rental was great, we have a large family and so it is always hard to find places that comfortably sleep us all and this place was great for us with 5 actual bedrooms. The property was clean and came as advertised. The games room was great and got lots of use. We had one small issue with the water and the owners were quick to respond and make sure everything was ok. Would highly recommend and stay here again.

Luxury in the woods

The rental was exceptionally clean and modern with excellent amenities, comfortable beds and a relaxing location close to everything. Check in was really easy. The kitchen was well stocked with modern appliances and lots of dishes. The games room was a big hit with everyone, too. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable with lovely light. Excellent artwork throughout and high end soaps and shampoos. Wonderful attention to detail. The best part of this rental, however, is the owners. One night there was a big storm and the power went out. When we got up in the morning, there was a text waiting with an ETA for power restoration, a bucket of water for the toilets, and a carafe of premium coffee (with cream, milk, sugar and cups) waiting for us. As the week progressed we also got personal recommendations for our family on local attractions and spaces only known to the locals. These recommendations were the highlights of our adventures. The only - very small - downsides are that the rental is an extension of the owner's home so the outdoor spaces are shared and the layout of the rental is unexpected (the kitchen is not next to the dining room, for example). But these are small in comparison to the quality and comfort of the property. Overall, we would recommend this property and would absolutely stay here again!

This property was the perfect location for our girls getaway weekend. Its proximity to Chelsea was perfect for day at The Nordik and close to restaurants, etc! Everything was clean and fully stocked. It was perfect!

Chelsea in the woods

We rented this house for 2 nights to have a ski weekend away with my family. Beautiful location close to ski and spa. House tucked amongst the woods. Large rooms throughout and great gathering area downstairs with games room including pool table and fireplace. Owners made it easy to check in and out and easy to contact if you had any questions. If your looking to have a mini retreat/holiday this is the place to go.

Exactly as expected!

We were met with zero surprises and everything was exactly as we expected from the description and photos. It was a great place to relax and use as a home base while we were visiting in Canada. The drive into Ottawa was short and easy from this guesthouse. We especially appreciated access to a washer and dryer. This house has plenty of space, which is always a bonus!

Idyllic family home base for adventures!!

Our extended family stayed here and had a very lovely time. Close to all the Old Chelsea restaurants, the park, and not far at all from downtown Ottawa. The host was helpful and friendly and we had a great stay. The house was very quiet, plenty of space for everyone and good layout for kids to go to sleep early. Couldn’t haven been better!

Relaxing location

There were eight of us visiting Ottawa for the first time. The house had plenty of room, the homeowners live in the house next door. They were helpful but left us alone to enjoy ourselves. The drive to Ottawa was easy and mostly highway. House was stocked with what we needed and the little town was cute.

Family gathering

This was a great place for all 9 of our family. Tasteful decor with spacious rooms, comfortable beds and very pleasant seating and dining area. Gaming and TV room was a nice touch. Hosts on the property were a great benefit and fun to interact with. They are very generous with all the amenities including outside activities. Highly recommended!
