My family had a wonderful time at this cabin! The owner is super responsive, the cabin was clean, kitchen was stocked with everything including spices(!), and the view was breathtaking. Would highly recommend this cabin for a quiet vacation!
Amazing little snowboard/ski getaway! If traveling at night, the road is a little sketchy because there’s minimal lighting so just be careful. Loved the text updates, the only complaint I have is because of receiving texts, I never checked my emails and had to drive back down (in the dark) to find the main office for entry into the gate. If this information has been in the text it would have been ABOVE a 5* rating!!
We had a really nice stay. Cabin road was easy to navigate and the view was gorgeous. Everything was clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again when in the area. It was a plus that it was so close to the Blue Ridge Parkway entrance as well.
My husband and I both fell in love with this cabin with it's AMAZING views and upscale yet very comfortable interior! The kitchen was very large and well equipped and the bed in the primary bedroom was very comfortable. The deck area was wonderful! We started and ended every day in the sparkling clean hot tub and the fire pit was a nice bonus too. We will definitely be back to this cabin!
We had a wonderful time. The cabin was beautiful and well kept. They even decorated for the holidays for us. I would recommend this cabin highly to anyone. We'll be back.
Enjoyed every minute of our stay. Well hidden but close enough to shopping and dining out. Home was as advertised, a beautifully crafted cabin fit for relaxation. Just sitting on the porch looking at the miles of view across the mountains was all you need, but there is always the hot tub. And, for a little excitement a visit by the local bear family! A wonderful week!
This a beautiful property. Well appointed. Huge decks for taking in the gorgeous views. Easy to get to considering the elevation. We would definitely stay at this property again.
Great place to stay if looking for views and easy access. Wonderful sunset views, hot tub was great, even had a fireplace to warm up after a evening dip in the tub. Built in baby gates made it kid friendly. Had some black bear encounters so just be cautious of that for small pets and leaving stuff out but we actually enjoyed that part of nature. Our small dog stays next to us so not a huge concern just be cautious. Great stay!! I would go back for sure.
The property is represented in the description really well. The surrounding area has a lot to offer in terms of skiing, casual dining and loads of hiking.
Since it was just my wife, myself and our dogs staying at Halfway to Heaven the house was definitely large enough. I honestly don’t have any complaints other than I have to return to work next week. It made for a great six day getaway.
Take your time going up and down the hill. We saw a lot of wild life crossing the street.
We had a great time there the home was extremely beautiful roads a little skinny to get to The cabin driveway a little skinny but no big deal The stairways are a bit much for me and my wife and sister we’re all in our 60s but it was worth every step it is the most beautiful peaceful location you will ever want to stay in it was kind of weird you have to take your trash out yourself about 8 miles away to a dumpsite but still worth every mile just to stay there The dishwasher did not work or we couldn’t figure out how to make it work so we had to wash dishes by hand again worth every dish also did not know what to do with Saturday and Saturday nights trash we assume that the dump is closed on Saturday and Sunday so we put it in trash cans inside the building at the back door hope we did not make the owner mad because we want to stay here again and any inconvenience we may have had was worth it this place is awesome I recommend it to everybody
This place was so amazing and the view was awesome! The description and pictures of the place were spot on. We loved how the weather was by being at over 4000 ft. up and getting there was so easy, not scary to drive at all. The decorations were perfect for a log cabin and the layout was unique. If you are bringing friends or family, the two downstairs bedrooms are perfect because they each have their own bathroom. I spent many hours rocking on the porch just enjoying the view and nature around me. The loft shower is wonderful with its many functions and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was perfect for cooking our own meals and came with all the appliances you needed. I appreciate that we were able to bring our mini dachshund who loved exploring the mountains with dad on their walks. On the days that we left the house you are only 8-10 minutes to Maggie Valley, 15 min. to Waynesville, and 30 to 40 min. to Ashville. Thanks to Heather for answering all of our questions and making the booking process so easy. We will defiantly be planning another booking at this place.
The view at this property was absolutely gorgeous and the cabin was very nice. We loved the location because it allowed us to go hike each day at the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. We loved the hot tub and the way the cabin was decorated. Our family loved the presence of bears and the “cabiny” feel. The master bath had a really nice shower and the beautiful view from the loft brought the best sunrise view I have seen.. We rated this cabin a “4” because of two problems. We needed to use Wi-Fi for my son’s college work. It was advertised as having Wi-Fi which helped us make the decision to stay here. After two attempts to communicate with the property manager to have it fixed we gave up and found a place in town for my son to finish a paper. The property manager never checked back or apologized when we said it had not been fixed as promised. This was inconvenient and cost us time that we could have spent doing something else or getting to relax in the cabin. Also, the mattress on the master bed was very uncomfortable and had a huge depression on my husband’s side. My daughter’s mattress was stiff and very uncomfortable. If these two things were fixed it would be a “5.” But, for us, without a comfortable bed we didn’t sleep too well after the long hikes. We would try this again if the owners replaced the mattresses. For the price a good comfy bed and Wi-Fi should have been included as advertised.
Everything was as described in the listing. Very comfortable and cozy. The bed was not the most comfortable one I’ve slept on but it was not terrible either. We slept well. Truly enjoyed the views. Would definitely stay here again.
We lucked out with our annual fall trip to western NC this year! The colors were vibrant and fabulous. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and the gorgeous long range mountain views from this home. We found the owners mattress VERY uncomfortable, but we sacrificed our comfort for the treetop views afforded from the loft. We enjoyed the hot tub and the gas fireplace daily! We couldn't figure out the fire pit, unfortunately. DON'T rely on Google maps to get you there!! Our Google GPS told us to turn left off Fie Top one street too soon, and we went all the way to the top when it announced "you've arrived at your destination". VERY LITTLE room to maneuver and turn our beast of a truck around, and it was at the end of a very long travel day. NO FAULT of the host, but I recommend including written directions so no one else has to endure what we went through ;-) Host provided excellent communication about internet issues that were to be resolved during our stay. Home was well equipped and we enjoyed our stay!
We wanted somewhere quiet to get away from the city and this is perfect. Only one other home on the gravel road leading to the house. There is a large porch with an amazing view, hot tub, and fire table. The kitchen is large, well equipped, and clean. There are options for eating at the breakfast counter, round top dining, and picnic table on the porch. The bedrooms each have a dedicated bathroom and closet and the beds are comfortable. Loved the place and didn't know much about the area before we arrived, but it is really cute, comfortable, and all the people are friendly and welcoming
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. Everything was as described in the listing. It was very clean and well stocked. The view from the cabin is beautiful. Very quiet location but a short drive to Maggie Valley. A good location from which to explore the Great Smokey Mountain National Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
