Sunset Cottages are located in Travellers Rest, Prince Edward Island, conveniently only minutes from downtown Summerside and Kensington for shopping, restaurants, taking in local events and music, and exploring historic attractions. PEI's renowned beautiful beaches, great golfing, walking and biking trails, and parks are only a short drive away.

We offer 3.5 star Canada Select rating accommodations in 2 spacious, luxury executive cottages with solid pine interiors. These fully-equipped, winterized units are available for rentals year-round. Both units are family-friendly and non-smoking but no pets are allowed.

Each housekeeping unit has 2 bedrooms with linens provided (unit #1: queen bed, queen bed / unit #2: queen bed, queen bed plus double bed), 1 full bathroom with towels, living room, dining table, a full kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, coffee maker and dishwasher, plus a washer and dryer laundry closet. The units have electric heat, ceiling fans in the living room and bedrooms, and an air conditioner for the main areas in summer.

Other amenities include a propane barbecue on the deck, flat-screen TV, WiFi, propane fireplace, and picnic tables, outdoor furniture, and children's playground equipment in the yard.

Peak Season Rates* (May 1st to Sep 30th):
$160.00/night (min. 3 nights‡), $980.00/week, and $3,000.26/month.

Off Season Rates* (Oct 1st to Apr 30th):
$135.00/night (min. 3 nights), $900.02/week, and $2,000.00/month.

Located at PEI's narrowest spot, Summerside is considered the province's second city after the capital, Charlottetown. Quaint shopping districts, the famed Harbourfront Theatre, beautiful beaches and a variety of restaurants make Summerside worth a visit.

Centrally located, it makes a terrific base from which to explore PEI as it is a gateway to the western regions of the island, with both the Confederation Trail and North Cape Coastal Drive running through the area. Really a lovely stay.

Nancy and Robert are wonderfully kind, accommodating, and friendly. There's a highway nearby, but the cottage is spacious, clean and comfortable, and really close to places we wanted to see and stores for supplies.

Good value, comfortable beds

Overall a good stay. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen is not really ready for cooking (no baking sheets, no kitchen knives, no soap for dishwasher) and amenities were not fully provided (we were 3 for 1 week, and were provided 2 toilet paper rolls, and 1 one-time use shampoo and conditioner. , no soap for laundry machines). Otherwise, place was clean and comfortable.

Great Little Cottage

We stayed at Nancy’s property in June. The cottage was very clean and well equipped. The check in process was very seamless. The cottage was centrally located for the attractions we wanted to visit. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Beautiful cozy cottage. The washer and dryer were a nice bonus. The bed was comphy. Fully functioning kitchen. Everything needed was available. We would highly recommend this place.

Great Stay

Best Find Ever

Good Cottage For Day Trips

Rented cottage for baseball tournament in Kensington. Wasn’t at the cottage other than for meals and sleeping. Would rent again for another tournament in Summerside or Kensington.

Wonderful accommodations and pleasant owners

As soon as we pulled into the driveway we were met with a pleasant welcome and bright smile. Nancy walked us into the beautiful two bed room cottage and outlined all of the amenities offered through the rental. The Cottage we rented was number 1. A two bed room unit with a full bath, full size range, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, washer and dryer and coffee maker. Other items included was high speed wifi, cable tv and full equipped gas bbq. The cottage and the grounds were well maintained and very clean. The cottages are located just minutes outside the city of Summerside. We were in the area for a sporting event and were able to get back to the cottage to prepare food and rest between games. We also spent some time touring Cavendish Beach and Charlottetown all of which we only minutes from the cottage and easily accessible. We stayed at the cottage for three nights and enjoyed every minute. I will stay again if I find myself back on PEI in the future.

During Dorian

This place is lovely , but it’s hard to review because PEI had just had hurricane Dorian come through. the power was out and there was no running water. The owner did try by running a generator, but still no water , or working toilets.. so we didn’t stay past 1 night, went to find a room with power. They are very nice people, and the cottage was clean and cozy

A great place to stay

Great location under 10 mins from Summerside, less than 5 mins from major shopping. Beaches all around within 10 - 15 mins drive. Cottage was roomy we had a four in our party of 4 lots off room. Two bedrooms, itchen, living room, deck with BBQ. What I like is you could drive to wherever you wanted do, the tourist things, bask on beaches, when you're done back to the cottage to relax by the fire while roasting hot dogs, marshmallows, S'mores etc. It has a small play park for children. The Cottage was fully equipped.with everything in it for cooking, cleaning and laundry. other than you favourites spices you don't have to bring anything. if there is something you need like a bigger pot etc just ask Nancy she will do her best accommodate you.

Great central location

Great place to stay when a heat wave hit PEI! Property was quite close to the highway which made for a lot of noise when sitting on the deck but wonderful and comfy inside. Good place to venture out from.

Fabulous PEI

Nancy and Robert were wonderful friendly accommodating people. The cottage was very comfortable. Everything was covered. Lots of towels, hot water, heat pump, beds were comfortable, lots of dishes, wine glasses etc. We enjoyed our time in beautiful PEI.

Perfect accommodations!

Great value for the money, the cottage was spotlessly clean, fully equipped (you only need to bring your clothes and food) and it’s close to everything. Five minute drive to Summerside shopping, 3 minutes to groceries. The hostess (Nancy) was very pleasant. We suggest that you ask her about the Internet if you find it frustrating. Overall I would highly recommend this place.

Convenient location and playground

Wonderful clean cottage. It was pouring rain and we found everything ready for us. We were provided with all we needed including laundry facilities to dry our clothes! Despite the weather we enjoyed the Haunted Mansion and Starlite diner nearby. These cottages are also winterized! Thankful for the stay and the short notice did not cause any problems. We would recommend to anyone.
