About this property

Historic Home, Modern Conveniences 15 Minutes to Chattanooga. Great for Families

Enjoy a relaxing retreat at this serene home featuring an impressive collection of art from local, regional, and national artists.

The highlight of Chattanooga is its surrounding serene mountains. Whether you're staying for a few nights, a week, or an extended getaway, our home provides the ideal retreat.

Perfectly situated for exploring Chattanooga or visiting loved ones in Signal Mountain, this historic duplex features mid-century charm with modern amenities for an unforgettable stay. Signal Mountain, known as one of Tennessee’s safest towns, offers the perfect blend of coziness and charm. Nestled in the heart of Old Towne, our Tudor-style duplex is no exception. We’re excited to welcome you to this inviting home, which we’ve recently transformed into a short-term rental with your comfort in mind.

Having lived on the other side of the duplex ourselves, we’ve carefully upgraded this space to ensure a delightful stay. New furniture, rugs, beds, and cookware await you, along with a freshly paved driveway and parking pad for added convenience.

Our location at the front of the mountain provides easy access to the area’s best features. You’re just a 15-minute drive from Chattanooga, a 5-minute walk from two beautiful trailheads, and can enjoy strolls along sidewalks that wind through most of the neighborhood.

Upon entering, you’ll be greeted by a screened porch, ideal for morning coffee or evening drinks as you take in the sunset. Inside, we’ve equipped the home with family-friendly amenities, including books, a trampoline, a high chair, and a crib, ensuring that guests of all ages feel at home.

The house is adorned with original artwork from both local and distant artists, adding to its unique character. Built in the 1930s as a duplex, the all-brick structure exudes historical charm, offering a blend of classic design and modern comforts.

The home features three bedrooms designed with your comfort in mind. The first bedroom boasts a king bed and a crib, perfect for families. The second bedroom offers a queen bed and three small closets for ample storage. The third bedroom is cozy and intimate, with a brand-new twin bed.

The dining room comfortably seats up to six people, making it perfect for family meals or gatherings with friends. In the living room, you’ll find a brand new Poly & Bark leather sectional, ideal for relaxing, along with a designated workspace featuring an Ethernet hookup. For your entertainment, a 60” TCL TV with Roku TV is available.

The home is equipped with a half bath downstairs and a full bath upstairs, ensuring convenience for all guests. Both bathrooms are stocked with plenty of towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and other essentials to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

You will have complete access to our spacious yard, which is stocked with plenty of toys to keep children entertained. For the convenience of the adults, there’s also a fully functioning laundry area, making longer stays even more comfortable.

We’re continually working on new landscaping and other improvements, inspired by the feedback from our valued guests, to make your stay even more enjoyable.

Cuttest Place on Signal Mountain
We absolutely loved our stay here on Signal Mountain. This place has so much old world charm, yet all the modern conveniences. The location is just perfect to do anything you want on the mountain. It's just a short walk to Signal Point. The kitchen was well appointed with everything you need. Everything was very clean. The art is a great touch as well. We'll be coming back soon!

Hi, my name is Dustin, and I’d like to welcome you to our home. I’m a husband and father to two beautiful young boys. Our duplex, which we lovingly call Old Towne Art House, is adorned with artwork that holds special meaning to us—pieces created by myself, my wife, and other talented local artists. My years as an artist and former gallery owner inspired this space, and we’re excited to share it with you.

I began hosting events in 2015, and immediately found it to be an incredibly rewarding experience. In 2022, I expanded into hosting short-term rentals with a guesthouse located at the back of our property. Creating unique, art-filled spaces felt like a natural extension of my background as a gallery owner, seamlessly blending my passion for design with hospitality.

We chose to live in Signal Mountain because of our love for the outdoors and hiking, both of which are abundantly available here.

Why they chose this property

In early 2020, we were living in Nashville when we welcomed our first son into the world. As we thought about where we wanted to raise our growing family, we knew we needed a safe and welcoming place to call home. The abundance of outdoor activities drew us to Chattanooga, and Signal Mountain stood out for its cooler weather and stunning natural beauty.

We fell in love with Old Towne, the first neighborhood built on Signal Mountain in the 1930s. The neighborhood’s charm is undeniable, with its diverse array of historic homes and towering hundred-year-old trees that line the streets. A simple walk around the neighborhood showcases the timeless beauty that makes this area so special.

When we first saw this historic, brick, Tudor-style duplex, we fell in love with the possibilities. Over the years, we have lovingly updated the building and yard into our dream home and as a way for other people to temporarily experience what drew us here.

What makes this property unique

You won’t find another historic duplex designed as thoughtfully as this one. It offers everything you need to enjoy a peaceful mountain retreat while being close to what I believe is the best city in Tennessee—Chattanooga. The unique artwork throughout the home adds an inspiring touch to this quaint space, making it truly special. Plus, it’s the only option at the front of the mountain that comfortably accommodates groups of five.
