About this property

Serendipity is located on beautiful Galiano Island...It is situated on Whaler Bay, and is nestled amongst the forest and wildlife...It is a well kept 50's pan-abode log cabin, on the water with a beautiful view...Deer, racoons, otters and eagles regularily frolick through-out the property.

Quiet, serene, and comfortable, this little beauty sleeps two in the main cabin, but also has a guest cabin which sleeps two as well.....( this is an additional 50 pr. night, but can be negotiated for long term rentals).

It is walking distance from the main ferry terminal as well as the local shops and the Madrona which is a world class spa.

Because the water is collected from rain water and has been treated, there is bottled water provided for drinking. The tap water is used for dishes and showers.
Please limit your showers to a min. in the summer as Galiano is one of the driest gulf islands and water must be brought in by truck to the its not a problem in the winter, because of the rain.

There is no garbage pickup on the island so please take your garbage back with you. There is a compost to use for food scraps to help condense the waste.

Serendipity is a wonderful quaint and peaceful cabin that I know, you will enjoy and feel relaxed by the time you check out.
There are also kayaks and paddle boards available for rent at the bottom of the property. Contact information will be left at the cabin..

Hidden Gem

What a perfect little hidden gem! We had such a great time on Galiano and the location of this cabin was so perfect. The cabin was cute and clean we loved it. The patio was great to hang out on and get some sun and relaxation. Deb was a wonderful host we highly recommend staying here if you are planning a trip to Galiano Island. Thanks Deb:)

Fantastic stay!

Perfect for two

Great spot close to bakery, restaurants,hiking and ferry but in a quiet area overlooking small bay with seals and otters. Beautiful.

Can’t wait to return!

Deborra was a great communicator and we absolutely loved our stay! The cabin was clean and well appointed with all the comforts of home. The location was amazing and we couldn’t get enough of the beautiful deck overlooking the water. We spent the most time there watching wildlife, eating meals and relaxing. We can’t wait to visit again!

First visit to Galiano…. Will not be our last!! Serendipity was pure Heaven! The mornings with coffee on the deck and late afternoon along the water was simply perfect. Serendipity is a lovely place that has everything you need, including a beautiful deck overlooking the water. Deb, the owner, is extremely nice and communication was nothing less than stellar.

Good time

Serendipity is in a great location, 5 min walk to Cain beach and Babes delicious pizza’s. Kitchen is well stocked and deck gets lots of sun, we swam and used our floaties off the property most days, would love to stay again.

Weekend getaway

We had a very relaxing weekend away staying at Serendipity. It was a great base for exploring Galiano. Close to the shops and ferry but still very quiet and tucked away. We enjoyed spending time on the beautiful deck and down along the shore as well. We saw otters swimming by out front every night! The cottage is very cute and had everything we needed. It is very clean and Deb was a wonderful host.

New Years Winter Wonderland

A wonderfully delightful cabin where every inch is though out. The experience feels custom and well designed. There is every creature comfort, every nook and cranny offers a cabin companion. Hand crafted and local designs make this space feel warm, comforting and perfected. We spent a cozy snowy New Years enjoying the view and fire. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

Great cozy Galiano get away

This is a really nice and cozy cottage for two. So well situated on Galiano for accessing local amenities as well as exploring and having a comfortable and clean place to return to. I especially appreciated the well stocked kitchen and really comfortable bed. Can’t wait to spend some time there in the summer.

Quiet Bliss

We enjoyed our stay at this cottage within walking distance to the ferry. The kitchen was well equipped and we loved just sitting on the deck and enjoying the solitude. The owner takes pride in her place and she made sure we were well informed. I swam off the property using water shoes on the rocks, although there is a beach close by and we enjoyed the canoe. This is a great place to stay - it even has AC!

Perfect for two!

Amazing location and amazing host!

This was our second stay at Serendipity and this time it was even better than the last. We saw SO many harbour seals on our morning paddle in the canoe, did many hikes and even saw a humpback. The little cabin has everything we needed and the location is unbelievably perfect. The host, Deborra made our stay extra special with a welcome card and a few little items to welcome us as she know we were celebrating my husband’s birthday. I highly recommend this property! Social distancing

We had a lovely time at the beginning of social distancing 2020. Getting food was a bit of a challenge and we should have packed more groceries, but how was one to know. We hope that the community stays safe.

I am a professional who specializes in grief and loss. I live in Vancouver but get over to Galiano to unplug as many times possible though-out the month. I am easy going, and enjoy meeting people and am pleased to be able to share this cabin so others can enjoy a little piece of heaven on earth.
I believe, we all need a special place to unwind and reconnect to ourselves which is why I bought it many years ago.

Its located close to the main ferry terminal ( Sturdies Bay) and is walking distance to the amenities ...... Situated in Whalers Bay, the cabin has a beautiful energy to it..

What makes this property unique

Sparkling, emerald green water and a beautiful deck too enjoy the wildlife and view makes the place unique and calm.......I love the serene and peaceful setting, amongst the trees and wildlife. Serendipity is so close to Cain beach, and a hop skip and jump from the shops and ferry terminal. It's an easy commute if you are travelling on foot.
