Restful retreat

After a day of adventuring it's the perfect spot to warm up and relax. Hot tub is icing on the cake. Being mins to the beach was lovely.

Cozy, quiet, close to beach

Came out to Tofino for a quick winter getaway and to connect with family. Cedar shack had everything we needed to do that. The beds are on the small size but otherwise it was comfy and clean. We would have appreciated the hot tub being pre- warmed for us as it took an entire day to heat up enough to use.Overall great experience.

Cedar Shack

Enjoyed our stay immensely. Close to everything we wanted to do and could hear the ocean at night which was a bonus. The little wagon to transport our belongings was very handy. Hot tub was perfect after a long day of exploring all the different beaches. We would definitely stay here again.

Family vacation

Great location close to south Chesterman's beach. The property was as described and very clean. Guests should be aware that there is a large construction site directly behind the property. We could wave to the construction workers from the kitchen window while having our coffee. It significantly reduces the privacy of the property and while construction didn't start before 9 AM it was quiet noisy and at one point the entire building shook as the construction equipment moved cross the site.

It was a wonderful experience. The place had everything we needed.It was private, quiet and close to the beach.The rooms were well appointed. Barbara had even included a binder which included everything from how to operate the hot tub to restaurants. We would go back in a heartbeat.

The location on Chesterman Beach is great. It is set back from the road and very quiet. The hot tub was lovely and private. The furniture could be updated for better comfort.

Cozy Getaway

We really enjoyed our stay at the Cedar Shack. The property is lovely. It's clean, quiet and has all the necessary amenities for a comfortable and relaxing getaway. Beach access is super close ... a one minute walk! It's great to soak in the hot tub at the end of day and listen to the surf. We highly recommend the Cedar Shack!

Storm watching

Just what we were looking for. Stayed over Xmas and it was windy and rainy and perfect for storm watching. Had one day of no rain and even a bit of blue sky for a great cycle into Tofino and a stop for coffee. Cottage had everything we needed including a really comfy bed.

Cute home

Great location with a very short walk across the road to Chesterman beach. House is very clean and well stocked. Easy to cook in, hot tub is private and right out the door from the one bedroom. Fireplace in the living room is so nice to relax by and the skylights add lots of natural light. Property is so nice and well maintained, they have a luggage wagon to bring your bags from the parking spot to the cabin in the back of the property over a short walk on a rock path. They have it well lit so at night it’s easy to see coming and going.

Attention to detail

Easy to find. Convenient parking spot. Walking up to the shack is very charming. Like an English secret garden. The cottage is clean and has everything you need to make your stay lovely. The hosts are very organized and they have thought of everything. The rooms are lovely and well decorated. It has a west coast vibe for sure. The deck out front and out back provide loads of seating in such a private setting. The bathroom is lovely and again the amenities are all there if you need them. The hot tub is fabulous and in such a lush green and private area. Big towels were provided. Birds and squirrels kept us company as we soaked out troubles away. The outdoor shower was perfect!! The kitchen has it all and plenty of space to create meals. This property is almost across the street from the beach access so getting to the beach is easy and the host provides a wagon to help you cart your things to and from the beach. This was our 25th wedding anniversary get away and we couldn’t be more happy about our time at the Cedar Shack Cottage. We will be back. Thank you 🙏

Clean, Comfortable, Well Equipped Cottage

This a very clean and comfortable cottage in a quiet location a one minute walk from the beach. There was however, intermittent noise from a construction project at the back of the property.

Great Location for Tofino Beach Break

I just needed a few days away from the city, and the cedar shack was a perfect place to chill. Situated a very short walk (3 minutes) from the beautiful Chesterman beach, the accommodation has a fully equipped kitchen, a gas fireplace, hot tub, and a large BBQ., two bedrooms, and a large bathroom with a deep tub. Everything you need to be self-sufficient or quick drive into Tofino when you do not feel like making your own meal. Situated behind the owner's residence, you have complete privacy, and is very quiet, except for that one frog that serenaded my nightly hot tub after rainy beach walks. It is not fancy, but comfortable and spacious enough for 4 adults. You definitely cannot beat the quick access to the beach. Barbara was very nice and offered assistance with anything I may need during. The self-check in was simple, and the accommodation was ready on my arrival.

Perfect location & cozy cottage!

We had the best family vacation ever! Cedar cottage was in the perfect location as it was just a short walk to the beach to surf. We found the cottage to be welcoming, private & very clean. The fireplace made sure that it was warm & cozy. The hot tub was a bonus after surfing! We will be back!

Born and raised in Austria, I visited Tofino in the early 80s for what was supposed to be a one-month stay. My husband Daniel (originally from Quebec) arrived in Tofino in the late '60s. We raised two wonderful daughters in Tofino who were fortunate enough to grow up and surf a towel throw from our home. We have been in the Vacation Rental business in Tofino for 20-plus years. After more than 4 decades of living in paradise, we still live the dream. We love sharing this dream with Travelers worldwide and look forward to welcoming you. We love travelling, hiking, gardening, biking, walking beaches and spoiling our super awesome grandsons.
