Comfortable house, close to the lake

This was the perfect house for our small family group. Was clean on arrival and Mike provided thorough instructions. We were blessed with fantastic weather, and we enjoyed returning to this nice spot at the end of the day.

Family Long Weekend

Property was as described and perfect for our family. Access to the HOA beach right next to the Godfather II house was the cherry on top. Communication with the owner was excellent and efficient. Will definitely be back.

Perfect stay!

Cozy, charming cabin with rustic charm! Great location for snow and water/beach fun, perfectly far enough away from Tahoe city (near the action but still feels secluded). Kitchen is well stocked and organized too so great for cooking! We’d stay again :)

Best Place to stay

Overall, everything was a wonderful experience for our First time vacationing in Tahoe. Property communication, excellent. Property and location beautiful, quiet and walking distance to lake. It is like you never left your home has everything you need, even some essentials in refrigerator. Don't think twice, Book!!

Excellent Vacation Home!

Beautiful cabin, nicely updated with a great location! They had everything you need from a stocked kitchen to clean linens to a backyard perfect for sledding. The owner was quick to respond, kind, and helpful. We would definitely stay here again!

Everything we can ask for and more

This place had everything, we shower twice aday especially when we're out playing in the snow and loved the fact that it had plenty of towels ,kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed was able to cook a nice New years eve dinner with no issues. Definently recommend this place

Multi bedroom wonderful "cabin" in the forest.

The cabin offers a private dock with beautiful views of Lake Tahoe. With 4 bedrooms and multiple beds to sleep up to 10 there was plenty of beds. The kitchen is well stocked with assorted equipment. The decks around the house make plenty of space to eat or relax. The 2 bathrooms offer showers and a washer dryer for convince too. I would recommend this "cabin" to any family. There are some terrific restaurants close by too. Much to see and do on your stay too.

Very helpful host

The house was cozy and had everything we needed. Our host was very responsive and was helpful when car trouble meant we needed a late departure. His help made a bad car situation comfortable.

The perfect trip

Mike’s place was absolutely perfect for our trip. We had a group of six girls, and the space was exactly what we needed. It’s a short walk to the lake and the pier was great for watching sunsets. We hope to return in the future!

1st Cabin was perfect

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this cabin. It is very comfortable and plenty of room for our family. We enjoyed evening walks to the lake and sitting on the dock. We had everything we needed. Lake Tahoe is gorgeous as ever.

Great location!

My family had a wonderful weekend in Mike's cabin. The location is perfect and the lake (and private pier) is a short walk away. The house if fully equipped and my two adult daughters enjoyed their first bunk bed experience! Mike was easy to work with and everything ran smoothly!

Perfect place for a perfect week!

We had a great time! No complaints at all, location was just off the road so it was quiet. Town was far enough that you didn’t hang there all day, but close enough to run to if you needed it. Cell service is really spotty, but didn’t bother us at all. My kids loved the bunk bed rooms, and ran around all day in the trees. We definitely want to come back in the winter!

Excellent place, a short walk to Lake Tahoe and short drive to Tahoe City

My family (me, wife, 7yo son, and father-in-law) stayed here and found the place excellent. If we visit Tahoe again next winter we'll try to rent it again. The kitchen is good and the beds are comfortable. Newly renovated bathrooms are nice. The owner was extremely responsive (usually within 30m) and helpful. It's a 3 minute drive from a nearby snow play area, which had good sledding, looking out on the lake. The proximity of Tahoe city made it easy to get groceries, and rent snowgear. Overall, an excellent stay.

Homewood Cabin - It doesn't get any better

What a very nice and very comfortable cabin retreat. My wife and I spent 3 wonderful nights at this cabin, in Homewood, CA. The kitchen was easy to move about and prepare meals in, the living room area was comfortable to relax in and the deck was perfect to sit out upon, even until the later evening while using the patio heater. The short 5-minute walk to the private beach/dock was the perfect stroll, next time we are bringing our kayak. You cannot go wrong with this property. The

Excellent stay

Can’t say enough about this property! The cabin is comfortable and kids as well as adults had a grand time. The kitchen was really well-stocked with utensils, appliances, and dishes which made having meals a breeze. Plenty of towels were also available. We loved playing in the snow outside and sitting on the porch (even in the winter!). Having two bedrooms on lower floor and two on upper was perfect for our family. Mike, the owner, was very helpful and accessible. We would absolutely stay here again!!

White Christmas at First Cabin

We had a awesome stay and did not want to leave. The spacious cabin was perfect for the kids to spread out. Two big rooms with bunk beds was all they needed to sleep, eat, read and play. The kitchen was fully stocked and had all we need to complete a few meals. The porch outside the kitchen with the snow covered table and grill became a makeshift snow play area. The place was well heated and the nights were well spent playing board games and watching DVDs. I miss the First Cabin already...

Great place, clean and peaceful!

We really enjoyed our stay (3 days and half) at the cabin. It's cosy and well equipped! The location is perfect, close to the lake and few minutes of driving to the ski resort. The owner made sure we arrived at the cabin and he responded right away to our call. We wanted to know how often there is a shuttle to go to the ski resort. The same thing happened when we left, he texted us to make sure we had a good time. That was very thoughtful! I will recommend this property without hesitation and we are hopping to go back when it gets warmer!

You’re being watched

House was as advertised. Bathrooms were updated and nice, and the rest of the house is probably of the original finishes. The carpet on the stairs felt dirty. The private beach/dock was nearby and really fun. The weekend however turned into somewhat of a VRBO nightmare. We felt under constant threat of additional fees as the owner messaged us multiples times daily about the movement of our children in and out of the cabin, which they were monitoring with an outdoor webcam. We left the property as we found it and ultimately were not charged additional fees. I don’t recommend this property for anyone with small children or anyone that plans on spending time at the property beyond sleeping. Considering dozens of VRBO stays, this was our worst experience by far.

Our stay at 1st Cabin

We had a wonderful stay at 1st Cabin. The house was very well stocked with all needed kitchenware, towels, sheets, etc. The location is perfect, close to a number of ski resorts and about 15 minutes from downtown. Mike and Sheryl are wonderful hosts who really care about their guests. During our stay it snowed a total of 10 feet with 39 inches in one 24 hour period. Mike helped with contacting his snow plow service. Then I80 and 50 were closed for a couple of days when we were supposed to check out with the next guests due in. Mike and Sheryl worked everything out between us and the incoming guests. We highly recommend this rental, great owners!

We grew up in Fremont, CA but have been living in the Lodi area for 40+ years. We went to school at Washington Union High School and San Jose Community College.

Why they chose this property

We grew up vacationing at Meeks Bay Resort at Lake Tahoe. When we decided to buy our own cabin, we bought a lot in Tahoe Swiss Village and spent our summer weekends with a couple of carpenter friends building this home.

What makes this property unique

We chose this area to build a cabin because it had its own private Association beach and pier. We enjoy boating and this place lets us do that easily. There are buoys that are available to rent from the Association.
