Fabulous Ocean Front Lodge - Warm and Inviting

New-Contemporary and Cozy Lodge has 3 bedrooms:
1 master bedroom - one king bed and ensuite with soaker and walk-in shower.
1 lower level bedroom - two ex.l twin beds combine into king, next door to main lower bath with bath/shower combo.
2 nd lower level bedroom - one queen bed, next door to main lower bath and near lower powder room.

Excellent linens and bedding

Guest lodge is open concept-separate and above garage, full kitchen facilities, and has sleeping for 3-4.
2 Extended Twin Beds can be combined into a King.
plus it has an -Allerton Queen- Comfortable pull out foam bed.

Main lodge has newer Viking, Kitchenaid and Miele Appliances.

Guest lodge has newer stainless steel appliances.

Lodge and guest lodge each has a washer/dryer laundry pair and an outside LPG Grill for BBQ'ing.

Lodge sleeps six to eight and can be rented with or without guest lodge which sleeps an additional 4 people. Total maximum guests are limited to 10.

Thoroughly enjoyed a great family holiday at this beautiful home!

This was a perfect home for our family holiday. Great location, lots to do nearby, beautiful oceanfront views, and plenty of space for our family group to comfortably enjoy time together, and also have a bit of privacy and separation if needed. We saw otters and deer on the property, and watched seals and various birds from the spacious windows facing the ocean. Would highly recommend and would love to go back again some day.

Great family accommodations

Property is well equipped to handle an extended family of ten. Great location and no lack of amenities. Everyone had very comfortable sleeping and washroom facilities. Family meals were were not a problem. Highly recommend this property.

Excellent Large Home Buy The Sea

This was a fabulous place for us to stay. We were a group of ten and rented both the house and garage suite. We had two grown up kids and two younger kids stay in the garage suite and the rest of stay in the house. The house has large gathering areas on both main and lower levels so it was a great place for our large group to spend the week. We saw otters and hummingbirds every day from the rear large windows facing Sooke Basin. The house is a short 15-20 minute walk to the middle of town. We did some kayaking, hiking, explored several beaches, and did a couple of day trips into Victoria. There are many things for families to do in the area so we all had a great time. We're all glad we chose this house as a place to stay and enjoy our vacation.

Amazing get away weekend

This was the perfect spot for a quiet group getaway celebratory weekend. Stunning property inside and out. Immaculately appointed home with an incredible view. Well equipped kitchen and very comfortable furnishings. Close to all the amazing outdoor spots that Sooke has to offer. We truly hope to return to this spot again!

What a wonderful property

We were a large group of extended family including a two year old. The house was so incredibly well-provisioned and comfortable for all of us. Expectations and promises met and exceeded. Gordon was friendly and accommodating.

Other than a hot tub (which we did not expect), couldn't ask for anything else! Younger daughter and family could not make it down from Birken because of black ice, which was disappointing. Maybe next year!

Peaceful Getaway

Perfect Weekend Getaway in Sooke!

Gord's property was the perfect location for a weekend getaway with friends. The space is even more beautiful than the pictures describe with gorgeous views of the ocean and local wildlife. We saw lots of seals, otters, and even deer during our September stay. There was plenty of space to sleep our group of 9 with lots of privacy. Though the location was absolutely stunning, our favourite part was the gigantic kitchen which make cooking for a large group an absolute dream. Check-in was easy and communication with Gord was always quick. Would definitely stay here again!!

Family reunion

We had a wonderful time here. Lots of room for 9 adults in the house. Loved the ocean view and seeing the otters and seals each day. Would have liked to have someplace all of us could comfortably spend time outside, not just lined up on the fairly narrow deck. Beautiful home, very well stocked. Check in was a breeze and owners are great at responding to any questions. Some small issues with repairs that I am sure will be looked after once the owner arrives.

A stunning home in a stunning location!

This was an absolutely wonderful property! We were two families of 4, and there was plenty of space to accommodate all of us for sleeping and living arrangements. The loft over the garage was perfect for the older kids. The views are breathtaking, overlooking Sooke harbour. We watched seals, otters, deer and other wildlife constantly…even a bear came onto the property while we were there. The location was great in relation to everything we were looking for - hiking, whale watching, Sooke Potholes Park, the town itself, and it’s not far from Victoria either. We would absolutely book this place again without hesitation!

Ocean front getaway

Beautiful views from the large windows, we were able to watch seals and otters from the deck. Access to the water for paddle boarding was not easy but enjoyable to paddle with the seals once we were out. Kitchen was great for making meals. Host was great to deal with, as Vrbo was difficult to sort out a kink in our booking. Lovely stay, would recommend for family gatherings!

Amazing views, ammenties and wildlife!

We couldn't have been happier with our stay and we didn't want to leave! So many striking views, beach access, modern updated house with high end finishes... perfect for our two families to get together. We watched mamma and baby seal swim around from the deck, otters walk right up to the porch, eagles, and all sorts of wildlife. This house is a gem and located within minutes of whale watching, zip lining, restaurants, and paddleboard rentals...so much to do and yet feels secluded and away from the bustle. I was thankful for all the extras....the kitchen and bathrooms were very well stocked making our stay so comfortable. Thank you so much!!

I would recommend this property and come back here again. Amazing views, comfortable and quiet location. We saw otters, deer and bald eagles from our deck. Location is close to town for shopping and near beautiful hiking trails.

Ladies 4 Night Retreat

Just as the pictures show!

This rental home was amazing! As soon as you walk through the door, you are wowed. The views are amazing, the kitchen is well stocked, and the beds (even the sofa beds) are comfortable. The only tip I'd have is: if you need darkness to sleep, bring an eye shade. All of the blinds here are quite sheer, and you'll be up as soon as it starts getting light out. The kids had fun going down to the rock beach. It's not much of a beach, really, but for the kids, it's a nice little adventure! Another highlight is the TV/theater room. After the kids went to bed, the adults were able to enjoy a couple of movies in the comfy chairs and surround sound! All in all, a great place to stay. We will definitely be back!

My wife and I used to travel west to the Vancouver area Islands with our two children when they were small. We explored the beaches and tidal pools enjoying morning coffee while the kids beach combed, went fishing and hiking, and kayaking. The ocean always has wildlife activity geese, otters, seal and a lot of crab, shrimp and fish.

We rented a house out here in Sooke in 2000 after we completed a week of trekking on the West Coast Trail - and it was a luxurious end to a great experience.

Why they chose this property

We wanted an area close to a city, yet away from it all.

We selected this property because of its spectacular view and quietness, and its location: its midway between the lovely hiking spots of East Sooke and various tidal pool beaches.

We just built (sep. 2012) a contemporary west coast style inviting lodge designed by a Victoria architect: it is quite an improvement to the old house torn down in 2007.

We wanted a clean, efficient and strong lodge. It is warm and cosy, energy efficient, and built to current seismic standards.

What makes this property unique

WOW, is the word heard most often when people come for a visit. We have a truly stunning view from most rooms in the lodge and guest lodge. You can walk down the 25 steps and explore the beach in low tide. Or sit out in comfort on the decks looking right into the water.
On clear nights you can watch the moon rise and travel, across the Sooke basin, its reflecting lights playing on the often still waters of the basin.

Handy to hiking, biking trails, fishing from the lodge property, kayaking, mountain biking and wildlife watching right from the lodge. It is handy and quiet and truly an outdoor activity center thats away from it all.
