We had a great time at Na'alehu. We arrived after dark and the road to the apartment was a little bit scary, as some parts are not paved. But just keep going to the top of the hill and you'll find the place.
Vickie and Wesley were very friendly and exeptionally helpful during our stay - thank you!
The place is close to south point, green sands beach and Punalu'u black sand beach (where green sea turtles sometimes come to rest). We also recommend the Punalu'u bakeshop with delicious treats.
Vickie and Wes are marvelous! They are so helpful. Being long time residents, are a cornucopia of local knowledge. The lodging is great, quiet, cutely furnished, including a lanai with outstanding star gazing. Thanks so much. We'll see you again! cindi and Bela

What a lovely spot. The perfect location for exploring the Ka’u area or even Hawaiian Volcano National Park. The rental was lovely and perfect for us two. Very clean and well equipped, and quiet except for some neighbors chickens aroused by a nighttime rain storm. It was nice to do some local things (Farmer’s market, lazing at nearby Whittington Beach Park, exploring South Point) and not just whiz by like we have in the past. Hosts were really nice, gecko watching was fun, and Vickie’s artwork is exceptional as well. I’d stay again and do a quad tour next time.
Beautiful Ohana suite. Very clean, very comfortable bed! This was perfect for my husband and I - we stayed for a week. Located half way between Hilo and Kona in a beautiful little town, Naalahu. Vickie provided soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc and that was very convenient. The wild chickens and goats are adorable.
Very efficient, clean property. Loved the cool ocean breezes going through when you open the 2 doors
Vicki supplied everything you could possibly need. Perfectly stocked kitchen for preparing our own meals. We felt like we were the only ones there, very private. The bed was the most comfortable bed of our whole trip. Very convenient location to go to the volcano’s or beaches. Only drawback….it was way to close to the bakery. 😉😉
We only spent 1 night as this sweet home. We had complete privacy. Everything we required was available in the unit. The bed was quite comfortable and I as I like to cook, I had all I needed, even olive oil salt & pepper.
If you want to get away from everything... this is the place!

Amazing time.
Nice quiet place. Close to all our adventures at volcano national park, green sand beach, black sand beach, ka'u coffee. Also not a far drive to kona or kilo. Nice little town near by with great priced local restaurants. Wes and Vick friendly and hospitable.

Originally form Washington state, I moved to Hawaii in 1988. After my first trip to Hawaii, I knew this was where I wanted to spend the rest of my life! I worked for UPS and Fedex for 17 years and now I am a practicing artist. You can see my paintings and jewelry designs at I love to snorkel, beach comb, quad ride, and just enjoy the wonderful warm temperatures of Hawaii and all the beauty here. I raised 4 chickens named Bulah, Chicken Little, Big Birtha and Ruby and have a cat named Snickers and a dog named Bella. I love the outdoors! I manage several vacation rentals in the district of Kau on the Big Island of Hawaii also known as the county of Hawaii. There's a saying here that the Big Island IS Hawaii. I roast my own coffee. Its available on Ebay under Hawaiian Coffee Company. A Hawaiian lady once told me, "God made the heavens and earth in 6 days and then stopped and looked around and said "Somethings missing"...And then He created HAWAII." I hope you enjoy it it here as much as I do. Aloha! Victoria
