About this property
Driftwood Beach House, Beachfront Home, Hot Tub, Family Friendly, easy access
What makes an ideal west coast vacation home is a place on the beach for a large or a small family, with indoor and outdoor fireplaces, and a hot tub with view. Driftwood Beach House has all of this. In addition, this property is a short drive from some great area attractions. The house is on the scenic Sooke to Port Renfrew Cowichan Circle route (the Pacific Marine Circle Route). Botanical Beach is at Port Renfrew and in the other direction there is Butchart Gardens. Victoria is a great place to visit with its quaint waterfront downtown, and Canada's oldest China Town.
There is a separate cabin that can be rented along with the house for an extra $50 / night (plus tax and cleaning). This contains the 4th bedroom and the 3rd bathroom. The cabin is never rented out on its own. Posted rates do not include the cabin.

There are so many good points to this property it's hard to mention them all. The location is fantastic with an amazing view. It was spotlessly clean and had plenty of amenities, towels, kitchen supplies, etc.Your are short hop away from Victoria, and there are lots of parks and trails close at hand.Even in the rain you can take in the view, and if your lucky see Orcas & Sealions. We would be more than happy to come back again.
Beautiful property, lovely view directly out onto the water. Viewings daily of seals (and/or sea lions) and we saw whales one day! Great for our friend gathering of 4 women - very cosy upper floor with a wood burning fireplace that was welcome in the snowy weather. Hot tub was nice as well. Great location near hikes - we had hoped to go to Mystic and Sombrio, but the weather didn't play along this trip. Next time! Kitchen had everything you could possibly need. Property manager was very accessible and helpful.
This cabin is very well equipped from the kitchen side of things to bedding and towels. We as a family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We hope to return soon to this property.
We had a nice trip, house is located in a lovely bay on the water. Very quiet and relaxing, nice having the hot tub so close to ocean for trips in and out of the water. A well stocked kitchen for cooking as well.
The location on the water was amazing. Wonderful to sit in the hot tub and look out over the ocean. The house was so well stocked with everything you could possibly need. We had to change our dates and our host was extremely flexible. We will come back.
The pictures do not do this place justice. We had so much space for us and our two kids, and the house could not have been better for our vacation. Close to some amazing hikes, and super easy to hop into town. Really hoping we get to come back and stay again in the future!
Fantastic place to stay in charming Sooke.
Stayed here over Christmas for 4 days.
Very well equipped, roomy cottage. Gorgeous view, spotted seals and ducks in the bay as well as some eagles.
Hot tub on the deck overlooking the bay was a huge bonus.
Gorgeous log fire made for a very restful vacation.
Would love to stay here again-highly recommended.
Loved the hot tub by the ocean.
Listening to the waves while lying in bed at night was so relaxing.
The little cabin was great for extra space.
The gardens on the property were lovely even this early in the season.
All round great property with everything we needed and more!
Had a fantastic stay for my husbands 70th birthday with our adult kids. It was the perfect set up for all of us with the bedrooms as one of the bedrooms is downstairs which worked out perfect. Fully stocked - the kitchen was great as it had all the dishes / pots / pans we needed and more. Wonderful to have the washer and dryer too.
we will definitely be back.
Our family of 7 really enjoyed our stay. With ages ranging from 20 somethings to an 80 year old, we each found a space that was comfortable and suited our needs. The house is well appointed as well as the cabin. A beautiful location with lovely gardens and the hot tub (which was great for the cold days and nights). The living spaces were comfortable and everything you could think of was provided by the hosts. We loved spending time on the deck overlooking the water and taking in the view. We would highly recommend this property for a large group of people.
Wonderful!! Wonderful!! The Driftwood Beach House is clean and comfortable and nice large kitchen that is sooo well stocked! We had everything. Thanksgiving Dinner on the deck on an ample sized table for comfortable dining.Hot Tub then dunk in the cool chuck awesome then back for another dunk! Lovely weekend weather for us. My family had such a great time. Made some fine memories for sure. EPIC! Thanks Rob for your quick response to our inquiries.
Whoever is in charge of the gardens should be featured in Better Homes and Gardens magazine, theyre truly stunning. Have you ever stayed in a rental that had actually sharp chef knives? Neither had we until this time. We like to cook most dinners in while traveling and its usually a struggle. Not here! The kitchen is stocked with every utensil, pot or bakeware you could possibly need all in perfect condition. The house manager was very quick to respond to any questions we had which we appreciated as well. Plenty of towels were provided as well. We didnt rent the separate cottage but it looked very cute with its own patio and garden pushed back a little bit from the house for privacy. The only thing we would recommend would be to opt for a small car if your getting a rental. It was very difficult getting a large vehicle out of the driveway on a blind curve. Wild Mountain is a great restaurant if you're celebrating something special, The Lazy Iguana had great maragaritas and Mexican food and Bad Dog was a great if your looking for a funky out of the way brewery. Parking lot 1 had the best swimming and cliff diving at the Pot Holes but lot 3 had the best views so check them both out its a must see and only about 30 minutes away. The visitor center was great as well and has a night market on Thursdays. Lots to do here, we had a great trip and this house is definitely recommended as home base.
We found that we were very comfortable at Robert's VRBO.
There were 6 adults and 2 toddlers and yet with the use of the sleep cabin everyone had plenty of space. The kitchen was equipped with absolutely everything you could need. The ocean views were super, we kept the binoculars very handy. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for an ocean side holiday.

I have been renting out vacation homes in the Sooke area for over 17 years. I love the Sooke area as a place to live or to vacation. I like to go kayaking and mountain biking.
Why they chose this property
This home is one of the few in the area with low bank beach access. There is a gentle sloping path to the beach and about 3 steps down onto the beach. It is a great place to launch a kayak. Kite surfing and sailboarding opportunities are nearby.
What makes this property unique
The beach is the defining feature of this home, but the hot tub which is practically right on the beach makes it just right.
