About this property
Classic Adirondack Lean-to with shower, fire pit, dock and waterfront
This lean-to is a classic Adirondack lean-to - it is situated just 25' from the water's edge of Kiwassa Outlet. The unique spot offers lovely sunset and water views. The site is a mile from the main road on a driveway shared by others. There are private homes in the area - unlike wilderness camping!
Lean-to itself will sleep 4 guests but feel free to pitch a tent for more occupancy.
Private outdoor shower is on the site affording our guests hot and cold running water just steps from the lean-to. The shower is ONLY for guests of the lean-to and it is not shared.
Included in the rental price is garbage removal placed in designated bins as well as parking for two cars.
What is an Adirondack lean-to?
An Adirondack lean-to is a three sided log camping structure which provides overhead shelter. It's a 'step up' from camping on the direct ground.
What to bring
This is a lean-to which means you'll need gear for cooking, cleaning, sleeping, bathing, etc…
Generators NOT allowed. Loud music NOT allowed. Parties forbidden.
Pet Policy
Before your stay, you must notify us that you will be bringing your pet or your reservation may be considered void upon arrival. All guests must read and agree to the owner's pet policy.

About the host
Hosted by Marjorie Cochran

We own several properties in the area and this cabin is one of our favorites. We have lived in the Adirondacks since 1991 but have been part-time residents since the 1960s. We even attended the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid! We can offer suggestions for activities unless you simply want to rest and relax.
Why they chose this property
If you enjoy camping, but want hot water / shower close by, this is a great property. It's partially secluded (one cabin nearby) and right on the water.
This is the most scenic area in the east! It is an easy place to rest, relax and enjoy life at a slower pace. Kiwassa Lake is an idyllic and quiet lake and most guests return year after year to get away from the hustle and bustle of a faster pace.
Often guests will take in a sighting of our lake loon and its beautiful calls. Other guests have said they have seen eagles, deer, fish jumping, wild types of birds, etc…

What makes this property unique
While at the lean-to, guests enjoy bird watching, reading and traveling by boat to the nearby Village of Saranac Lake. Often guests will take in a sighting of the lake's loon and its beautiful calls. Other guests have said they have seen eagles, deer, fish jumping, wild types of birds, etc…
This is NOT a party site. Quiet guests are welcome.
