About this property

Walk to one of the BEST Shuswap beaches!

We are very thankful, to not only have survived the recent wildfires intact, but to be beyond the fire zone and away from the destruction. Our hearts go out to the many who were caught in the fires path. Please be sure you are on a Canadian site for accurate pricing.
Lilac House is one of two vacation homes on the property of 4.6 acres (See Sunflower Cottage). It is situated across the road from a sandy swimming beach. The deck has a very relaxing view of the gardens. The patio furniture, BBQ and fire pit are ready for your enjoyment. Enjoy our park-like setting on 4.6 acres. There is lots of room for the kids to play safely and to enjoy our games area that includes a horseshoe pit. This vacation home has two bedrooms, one with a king size bed, and the second with a queen bed. There is also a pull out sofa bed in the living room. The kitchen is well equipped with a washer, dryer, micro-wave, stove, fridge, dishwasher and coffee maker. Towels and kitchen linens are provided. All you need is your beach towel and beach chairs!

Relaxing at Magna Bay

Great stay, clean, just a short walk to the beach. Sandra and Dave were great hosts. Only issue was wifi was slow for some work meetings.

Perfect location

What a great find this is! The location to a wonderful sandy beach is just across the road. The hosts were so accommodating and responses were so quick! The place was ideal for our little family gathering! Boat rentals are right around one corner and a well stocked general store is around the other corner so very convenient. Highly recommend!

Clean, comfortable and everything you need to enjoy your stay. Property is beautiful and a short walk to the beach kept the kids entertained for hours! Host was friendly and available. Would definitely rent again!

A wonderful spot for families

We rented the two cabins for a family event. Both cabins were wonderful and clean. There is a beautiful, large grassy area for the kids to run and play and the beach is just a short walk away. The hosts were wonderful and welcoming and everyone had a fantastic time.

Magna Bay

The location of this property is its best selling feature, it is across the road from the beach. The owners live in the yard and are there if you need anything. They were wonderful to deal with.

Great Family Vacation!

This is our second year coming and staying in one of the cabins hosted by Sandra and Dave. They are amazing hosts and are always around to help with what you need. The Lilac house was perfect, lots of room for our 2.5yo to run and play and our little morkie to enjoy. The cabin had everything we needed and was so close to the beach that we were able to walk and enjoy the nice beach area. Can’t wait to come again next year!

Wonderful Vacation

My family and I had the best vacation we have had in years. The property is so close to the beach that we went everyday! We loved that it was almost private every time we went. The property is gorgeous and the horseshoe pit gave my husband and son a great pastime for when we weren’t at the beach. The sky at night is absolutely amazing!! Thank you so much for everything, we had a fabulous time!!

Short break

A very nice location and ideally placed cabin. All of the facilities that you would require are in the property, but the maintenance and condition of the cabin is visibly tired. The cleanliness of the property is also something that needs addressing.

House at the Shuswap

The house is functional and has everything you need for a one week vacation. The property is nice but is located very close to the highway so in the summer, travel can get quite noisy. In order to get to the closest beach you have to walk along that highway and then cross it ... so we decided to drive to another nearby beach which was 10 minutes away and was quiet and lovely.

Family vacation

We stayed 10 days in the lilac house and it was wonderful. Dave greeted us as soon as we pulled in, and made us feel very welcome. There was lots of room for my husband and myself, and our 3 children. The close proximity to the beach and having a store right down the road was fantastic. Our only concern was the amount of traffic on the road, and how fast everyone drove. Our kids are 12,10 & 8 and we didn’t feel comfortable letting them walk down the road to the store or to the beach without an adult accompanying them. It wouldn’t have been too bad if people actually did the speed limit, but it seemed to us that drivers just flew down that road without any concern for pedestrians. The cottage was also a little dusty and there were a couple spider webs when we first got there. That really wasn’t a big deal, and it could have been just because there wasn’t anyone staying there prior to us. Overall we had a wonderful experience; the cottage was very comfortable and cozy, there was a lovely outdoor space, and you could get everything you need at the Ross creek store or in scotch creek 15 minutes away. I would absolutely come back, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to vacation in the Shuswap.

Great affordable getaway

The cabin was a great place to stay for the price. There was lots of room for our family, conveniences like a washer and dryer, dishwasher and bbq, and it is right across the street from a gorgeous beach. The cabin itself could have used a deeper clean before we arrived, but it was not too bad and considering they do not charge a mandatory cleaning fee and give you the option to clean it yourself, it was probably just a poor clean up job from prior guests. Overall we would definitely stay again. Dave and Sandra were there when we needed them but did not hover at all. Great hosts and a great family getaway.

Very Happy Customers!

The cottage was very well equipped with everything we needed. The house and property is very well cared for and tidy. We loved the huge backyard and being steps away from a great beach. The location was perfect, not too busy with a great store and restaurant within easy walking distance. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful every step of the way. Our son loved seeing all the different wildlife that appeared while we were there. We would gladly reccomend this rental and will certainly return ourselves!

The cabin is an average place to stay. Cupboards have a good selection of small appliances, pots/pans, and dishes. Private laundry and dishwasher were appreciated. The property is right on the main road and the road is busy (logging trucks and vacation use) and people tend to drive fast. Being right across the road from the beach was great! We went every day twice a day. The beach was fairly busy which was annoying at some points, but we had lots of fun. Overall a good place to stay, and good value for what you pay for.

simple quiet retreat away from the madding crowd.

Easy to find. Simple accommodations (with the benefit of Wifi and a TV if you have to have electronic). Nice to have washer/dryer/microwave and BBQ. Excellent to have the pingpong option for the kids. Easy access to good beach. Good to have the shop/cafe within walking distance with a reasonable selection. Caring easy going owner.
