About this property

Relax in a Pecan Orchard 15 min. from Airport

The Linden House is 15 min from Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport, and 20 min from downtown Little Rock, out in the country. It is 100% solar powered with an electric vehicle charger! Relax in a 10 acre pecan orchard with a seasonal pond with tall willow trees and towering cottonwoods. From the 2 full length porches, you can watch flocks of migrating geese, ducks and egrets and enjoy beautiful sunsets. If you're lucky, you may catch a blue heron circling down to the pond at dusk.
Featured on KTHV's "Arkansas's Greatest Getaways"-see video.

Scott is a delta farming community just outside of downtown Little Rock. We are surrounded by cypress swamps, cotton fields and pecan orchards. The Arkansas Agriculture Museum and Toltec Mounds State Park, a significant prehistoric mound complex are both within 5 minutes of the Linden House. Beautiful drives through the Arkansas River lowlands, ox-bow lakes and historic houses surround the area. The Linden House is approximately 1 mile from the Arkansas River levee.

The Linden house is private. You can see our house about 120 yards away partially obscured by trees. You can let yourself in via a key lock box next to the door.

We have a detailed House Manual with local restaurant and entertainment suggestions. The closest restaurant is Seaton's Scott Place BBQ about 7 minutes away. A small-town grocery store in England, AR is 15 minutes away. A large suburban grocery story in North Little Rock is 20 minutes away along with many typical chain restaurants.

Stay in Scott

My wife enjoyed our stay at this cottage and working pecan farm. The place was very clean and bed was very comfortable. Conveniently located to areas we needed to get to for work and some R&R. Would stay again if back in the area. BTW the barbecue at Scott’s Station was great and staff was so fun.

Pecan orchard oasis.

This quaint cottage located in a pecan grove was the perfect place for a relaxing weekend get-away before the hectic holidays. Its location was perfect to enjoy a romantic candlelight dinner at Marlsgate Plantation, homemade pie from Charlotte's in Keo, and antique shopping in the area. A highlight was seeing a great horned owl and an American woodcock sandpiper during our walks on the property.

Birthday celebration weekend

We enjoyed the cabin, enjoyed the visit, beds were not as soft as we are used to but we handled it. Only wish the weather had been more cooperative as we were not able to sit outside on the porch and enjoy it. Beautiful home with everything needed to cook and enjoy. Met the owners and they were absolutely delightful and helpful with ideas to do while there.

Peace of Heaven on Earth

I truly enjoyed ever single minute there on the property. The peacefulness of the pecan farm and starry skies at night can't be beat and the local history of Scott added to the experience. I can't say enough about the hosts who are close by and extremely in tuned with their guests. The hospitality was much appreciated! A truly hidden gem.

Great stay outside of Little Rock

We really enjoyed our stay at the Linden house! We were there for a quick work-away & spent a lot of time doing creative work in the house. It was a great space, and the accommodations were comfortable. The kitchen had everything we could need! Stephanie was very communicative. We even had some severe weather while there, and she reached out to make sure we knew the procedures.

Relaxing Getaway

This home was cozy and perfect for our anniversary trip! Close to so many cool sites and far enough out to really relax. Plus, this was a very budget-friendly trip with the house cost, cooking breakfast and supper on our own (we enjoy this 😊), and most of the sites and trails were free (Toltec Mounds, The Old Mill, Little Rock Central High School Memorial, etc.). My husband and I loved it all and would love to find the time to come back and visit in the future. Thank you!

Perfect Vacation

The house was ready and fully stocked with everything needed. The key box was easy to access. The large bed was very comfortable. Everything was exceptional except for kitchen sink where the spigots were backwards and the outdoor solar walkway lights were not working. We used our iphone lights to light our way. Overall, we had a VERY enjoyable 3-day vacation. Thank you!

Mr. Keith Taylor

Wow, where to begin. This house is absolutely spectacular. The owner and his wife built the house to reflect building styles of the early 1900’s. And if you can overlook some modern conveniences, you’d think you could hear the horses and carriage arriving. Windows, doors, porches, furniture, baseboards and floors all scream of the early 20th century. During our early conversations I learned that the owner is a school teacher and also a History teacher. I was impressed, which is usually difficult to do. Our stay was delightful with the surrounding area as well. On the property is a pecan orchard which offers a walk in solitude and peaceful quiet as the slight breeze rustles through the leaves. The owner have put together a very helpful guest book highlighting the nearby attractions. I hope to return in the future with more time.

About the host

Hosted by Stephanie Spencer

Host profile image
We are Paul and Stephanie Spencer. We have a family pecan farm and apiary (honey bees) that we run with our three boys. And also Scout, our Great Pyrennes dog helps out as well!

Why they chose this property

We bought this property in 2004 after Paul could no longer contain his farming itch. We planted pecan trees first and then built the Linden House (ourselves!) first and we moved Paul's father in. We then built our house (the tan one in front) and moved in a couple years later. Paul then added bee keeping to his hobbies and we now have about 14 hives. We hope you enjoy the beautiful Scott countryside as much as we do!

What makes this property unique

On some mornings, the kids may be able to watch a yellow crop duster fly close to the ground and then make a sharp U-turn right over your head. You can feel free to wander around in the orchard or have a picnic under the towering trees by the seasonal pond (usually dry in the summer). Watch Canadian geese, egrets, blue herons and ducks fly over head and sometimes land in the pond. Enjoy breathtaking sunsets that you can follow across the horizon. Drive past majestic bald cypress swamps. These are just a few of the experiences that await you when you stay at the Linden House!
