Peaceful Getaway in Port Rexton - Canada Select 4.5 Stars

Plan your staycation today with special rates for 2020.

Beautifully restored 100+ year old traditional Newfoundland home on nearly 10 acres. The property has trees, rocks, fields, rugged shoreline, breathtaking views of Trinity Bay, and no neighbours. We are the new owners of the property and in 2019 we did some renovations including a new deck with glass railing, fresh paint, new appliances, and updated porch and front bedroom. As licensed operators we will be following all provincial guidelines re: COVID-19.

This cozy and comfortable three bedroom, two bathroom vacation home has hand-crafted furniture, inviting beds with fluffy duvets, and modern conveniences. With the wood stove crackling, this really is the perfect peaceful getaway.

Guests may also enjoy picking berries on the property, hiking the Skerwink Trail or the Fox Island Trail, whale watching, and sea kayaking. Two Whales Coffee Shop, Port Rexton Brewing Co., great meals at Fishers' Loft, Peace Cove Inn, and the Town of Trinity are all a short distance away.

Perfect location!

Three bedrooms house, great location from Trinity up to Bonavista! Everything you need is there. You must go for a grilles cheese at Oh my cheese, next to the Brewery.

Charming house in great location

This, our second stay, was as delightful as the first. The house is a lovely mix of old and new and very comfortable …lovely views from all the windows and the deck. There’s lots to do and explore in the area: wonderful trails,, Trinity and its theatre, Port Rexton, Elliston for puffins etc.. Booking and check-in were clear and v efficient and the house spotless.

Felt Like Home

My friends and I were delighted to come back to this cozy cottage after our days of exploring; it felt like home. We loved the wood stove especially. The charming bedrooms and comfortable beds ensured that we each had a little privacy and a good night's sleep. This is a lovely, well-kept property.

Port Rexton home

Beautiful property on the water. Clean, private, lots of character and has all amenities needed. No A/C but lots of fans and cooled down with windows open in evening for sleeping (it was unusually hot during our stay). Close to many places to visit and hiking trails. Our teens enjoyed exploring the property. Highly recommend

Delightful , peaceful house and location

We had a great week - thank you!. The house strikes a perfect balance between its age/ character and comfort as we now think of it. Watching birds, sky, sea, mists and clouds from the deck was lovely and, close by, there’s lots to do: trails, theatre, whale watching, and walking tour around Trinity were things we particularly enjoyed.

Good times in Port Rexton

Great home base for visiting Trinity, Bonavista and the Skerwink trail. The house had lots of character and a beautiful view with chairs on a large deck with glass railings. We saw an eagle fishing in front of the house. Beds were comfortable and 2 bathrooms convenient. One upstairs with the three bedrooms and 1 downstairs. The soap and shampoo provided were high end and locally made. Highly recommolend this vrbo.

Kitchen opportunities

Lovely home. Clean yet NFLD rustic. Knives in kitchen were dull and no recycling receptacles. Otherwise, a very enjoyable experience.

Great location. Comfortable. Stunning views.

Step back in time a wee bit.... a classic old timer with unobstructed views over wildflower meadows to the ocean. Comfortable, well appointed, perfectly located in Port Rexton. You feel removed from everything but just a short walk to the Two Whales cafe. Very enjoyable stay!! Will be back.

Great spot !

Easy to find and a great location from where we explored Port Rexton, Trinity and Bonavista. Well appointed and outfitted. We appreciated having ice in the freezer for our first round of drinks on the veranda and coffee & filters on hand for our first breakfast. Loved the comfy duvets on the beds!

Home by the sea

We enjoyed our stay here. The home is beautiful and very homey. We had everything we needed to cook and make ourselves at home. All our questions were answered quickly and completely and it’s location is ideal for seeing the Bonavista Peninsula. Would highly recommend!

What a view !

Great views from the veranda sitting in the Muskoka chairs, drinking coffee or an Iceberg beer, watching the birds and one morning, three whales frolic in the harbour opening by Fox Island. The beds were comfy and the duvets came in handy. Plenty of fluffy towels. The rest of the house was well appointed and lovely; we didn’t miss anything that we had at home! Well, maybe a 24 hour news channel (CBC or CNN)! Thank you for helping make it a most enjoyable and memorable “homecoming” trip !

A wonderful getaway experience

My husband and I loved this house at first sight. Magnificent views combine with historic charm of the structure and some lovely furniture and are complemented by the warmth and comfort of modern amenities. When booking I first thought of the house as a bit pricey for just 2 people but booked anyway because it seemed to be in a great location. When we got there I loved it so much that ended up extending our stay. The house can easily fit more people (3 bedrooms, decently-sized for a house of this type) and has a lovely living area. Fox island trail is walking distance from the property, and it was the highlight of our visit to the area. Skerwink is not too far but we ended up driving to the trail head. If you stay later in the summer there are raspberries, partridgeberries and wild blueberries growing right by the property. I wish we could come back in August to taste them!
