There is nothing private about this room... its literally justva bed.. No stove or even a hot plate, just a microwave and mini fridge. There is no window except the entire wall of patio door which looks right onto the street only a few steps away... If we laid in bed in the morning with curtain open we would look into the eyes of many neoghbors walking their dogs... the hottub is shared and around the side of the house where there is no where to put your towel or dry clothes.. it was raining... our towels and clothes were soaked from sitting on the hot tub steps..... the 4-10pm hot tub hours so no availability innthe morning after sleeping on a horribley uncomfortable double bed that was creeky.... the word private is the last thing that this place is..with the owner upstairs and a second unit right beside you... as well as the many neighbors that you look directly at... if you only.need a bed to sleep in for a short period this place is fine.. too expensive.. and we couldnt find a place for breakfast on the island .. and since there was nothing to cook on we just left disappointed and hungry

Very lovely space. Clean and everything you could need. Would recommend. Didn't get a chance to use the hot tub as my toddler was with me, but maybe next time.

Our experience with the property owner was fantastic.
Our experience with Expedia on the other hand was worse than absolutely abysmal.
Chrissy's place is so nice! It's a small space but perfect for two people for a weekend away. The hot tub is spectacular and food/groceries are just a bike ride away! The space is super clean and the essentials were provided. There is a fridge and a coffee pot so we were set!

From the moment I arrived, I felt elated. The front porch with its bistro table was exactly as pictured and the inside was as well. My suite was clean and cozy. My host was a delight and made each day of my 5 day stay comfortable. Best. Getaway. Ever! Thank you for a magickal visit to Gabriola Island. I will return and most certainly stay here again and again.

It felt claustrophobic
The space is very small. We found it claustrophobic, like being in a box. The door to the tiny bathroom doesn’t open all the way. You have to squeeze yourself in.
When we arrived and opened the shower curtain we found hair from a previous guest.
The shower curtain doesn’t work properly... water gets all over the floor.

Great service and great breakfast
The place was well furnished and really clean
Chrissy was super nice and helpful
Only downside is the steep hill on the way up so rather don’t bike ;)
Nice clean accommodation, Chrissy was awesome to deal with. Comfortable bed, nice quiet area. It was a great all around stay! The only negative I would give it is that the sound proofing isn’t great but we are both noise sensitive and most people wouldn’t even notice.
I stayed here on a weekend get-away with a girlfriend and it was lovely! The breakfast provided was delicious, and Chrissy was very prompt with her communication. The deck for morning coffee and the hot tub for nightly relaxation was the cherry on top. I would definitely stay here again!

Good place for 1 or 2 people. A comfy stay and very good value on a lovely island. Host easy to reach and accomodating!
This little studio was great for the price. The place was clean and had what we needed for the weekend. The only thing to note was that sounds were quite loud from upstairs.
This is a lovely little room with an outdoor covered porch for sitting, big cupboard to put things out of the way, essentials for picnic-type eating, coffee-maker, kettle, microwave and fridge, updated bathroom (loved the night-light that changed colours!!!) AND a nice touch of TWO suitcase stands!!! How often do you go to stay somewhere that has only one or even no place to put your suitcase!!? Chrissy the hostess was great, and we really enjoyed the chats as well as the wholesome breakfast she brought.
It was close to the ferry and shops, but a very quiet neighbourhood.
Host was amazing, rental was great and the island is wonderful.

About the host

I have lived on beautiful Gabriola Island for 10 years. I enjoy the community and getting out into nature on the trails and beaches here. My two children live with me in the home that we built for us and guests. I am a artist who enjoys working with many mediums.
Why they chose this property
This property is a small gem. Close to amenities yet the trees give it a private feeling and it is very quiet at night as it is on a no thru road.
What makes this property unique
You will hear more birds than cars in this neighbourhood, you may even see deer or wild turkeys.
