Welcome to our cottage with stunning views of Lake Huron and breathtaking sunsets. The cottage is lake front. Perfect for mature couples and families.
The main room is vaulted with a kitchen, dining and living room. There are views of the lake from the main cottage. There are erosion rocks at the beach by the waterfront deck. There are stairs to the beach with a handrail. There is also a sloped sandy access to beach to one side.
The cottage has 3 bedrooms. Two bedrooms have bunk beds. Each bottom bunk is a double bed. The third bedroom has 2 single beds. Each room has a closet with hangers. Each bed has a mattress cover, pillow and duvet. There are heavier blankets for cooler months.
Guests must bring bedsheets, pillow cases and towels.
Please bring towels for the beach, the bathroom and the kitchen. No towels are supplied.
Linens and towels are available for an extra fee.
We supply phosphate free shampoo, conditioner, body soap, hand soap and dishwashing soap and cleaning products.
The main vaulted space has a 55" Television, a wood burning stove, a dining area and a full kitchen. Wifi and television is included. Bring your passwords.
There is a wood burning stove inside and a fire pit outside. Firewood and kindling is provided.
There is a heat pump. This can provide air conditioning in the summer and heat for cooler months.
The kitchen is complete with everything you need. It has an oven, a stove, a refrigerator, a coffee maker and microwave. It comes with all the utensils, bowls, plates, bowls, cups and pots and pans. There is salt, pepper, sugar and cooking oil.
I will supply some coffee, tea and creamer to get you started, in case it gets forgotten.
There is a barbecue outside and a table and chairs for sitting on the deck and enjoying your meal beside the water.
There are 2 decks: one at the cottage and a second at the lake front. There are stairs from the lakefront deck to the beach as well as sandy access to one side.
There are some board games, cards and books for you to enjoy if you need a break from the beach
We accept 1 week rentals during July and August (Canada Day through Labour Day): Check-In is Saturday @ 4pm -and Check-Out is Saturday at 11am; 3 night minimum rentals in May, June, September and October.
There is tandem parking for 2 cars at the top of the driveway. There is no street parking. There is also a large sandy public beach in Port Albert.
The driveway is too steep to park on but used as a useful walkway to the cottage. There are some further steps down to the cottage. Please ask about access if you are concerned.
There are 2 kayaks with adult life jackets. We also provide water noodles, boogie boards, beach bocce ball and some sand toys.
Walking on the beach is wonderful. We have been told it is possible to make it all the way to Goderich, though we have never tried. The beach is quiet and private and our guests should appreciate and respect this quality.
We are a 10 minute drive from Goderich, the prettiest Town in Canada. Goderich is steeped in historic charm and features many festivals, shops, restaurants, parks. golf, fishing, museums, a beach front boardwalk and a farmer's market. Rotary Cove Beach is a popular beach in Goderich.
The cottage is located in a quiet neighbourhood. In order to respect our neighbours, protect the local wildlife and maintain the cottage in a neat condition for our family and others to enjoy we do have Cottage rules. Guests must agree and abide by our Cottage rules.

There is a max. number of guests limited to 6.

There are no extra visitors.
There are no tents allowed on the property and no extra guests.
There are no fireworks allowed.
The cottage is non smoking and not pet friendly due to allergies.
If you have a specific service animal please let us know.
No loud music at any time.
No shoes in the house.
Wash sandy feet prior to entering the cottage.
No candles. Flashlights and lanterns are provided.
SEPTIC SYSTEM:
TOILET
Rules for the Septic System must be followed.
Nothing more than small amounts of toilet paper should ever be flushed, nothing else; even if it says septic safe.
No baby wipes, no Kleenex no feminine hygiene products, no tampons, no floss etc. NOTHING. Our system can not handle it.
SINKS - GREASE
No cooking grease down the drains. Allow grease to cool and place in garbage.
FOOD PARTICLES
Do not wash down drain. Keep drain screen in and empty particles into the garbage.
KAYAKS
Kayaks are supplied for use of the guests during their stay. Use at your own risk and Management assumes no responsibility with the use and operation of supplied kayaks.
Wearing of lifejackets is mandatory when using kayaks.
Guests must bring their own lifejackets for children.
CLEANING:
We provide phosphate free, septic safe cleaning products, garbage bags, recycling bags and septic safe toilet paper.
Please take all food with you. Do not leave anything in the refrigerator or freezer.
You are responsible to store all garbage in the supplied containers at the top of the driveway. Garbage bags are supplied for the garbage bin and clear bags are supplied for the recycling bin.
I will be at the cottage briefly on Monday since this is garbage day. I will ensure that the garbage bins are picked up and returned to the property.
Please ensure that all appliances, lights and taps are turned off at the end of your stay.
Ensure that the barbecue is turned off at the end of your stay.
Please make sure that all windows and doors are locked at the end of your stay.
Please leave the cottage in the condition it was received.
Rental contract must be signed at check-in.
