Inside, two fireplaces (seasonally)will hold your gaze while you enjoy the ambiance, 3 smart tv's, full-service kitchen, comfy king-size bed with 6pc ensuite including a jet tub, a 6 ft double shower(yes, for two if wanted) with rain head and eucalyptus. Total bonus... is the "to die for" glass hot tub room that is a one-of-a-kind! Defintely a guest favorite!!! While enjoying the warm water watch your favorite movie, or relax while you take in the views of the River. The kitchen has everything you need to make a delish meal or visit one of our restaurants in the quaint town of Napanee just a couple minutes away. Rejuvenated, Romantic and Rested, all in one as you kick back and enjoy the peacefulness and privacy of your environment.

beautiful location

Beautiful location with cozy accommodations. Thoughtful welcome basket and teas and coffee as well as bottled water for us to enjoy. Very comfy bed too. Due to the time of year we were not able to enjoy the location to the full scope; we were asked not to use the trail system due to mud and preparing the area for their daughters upcoming wedding. Water levels too high and swift to use the kayaks. Fire ban during our stay as well. Lots of signage in the VRBO explaining do's and don'ts for the property as well as some minor wear and tear in keeping with the age of the property.

Getaway to disconnect and reconnect.

Karen and Kevin’s vacation property was just what we needed to tuck away from the rest of the world and just be with each other. The living room was cozy with the fireplace and sectional to cuddle on. The bedroom was perfectly sized and I slept like a baby in the bed. My spouse was grateful that the hot in was in a seasonal room to block the cold winds that we had. We never saw the tenant in the other part of the house and rarely heard them (only when they did laundry). The soaker tub and the double shower were also a treat to have and spend time in. The property was super easy to find and Karen was very communicative on all things related to the house and area attractions. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks so much Karen and Kevin!

Mini honeymoon

The house was a quaint, quiet, warm and cozy oasis for us to escape to for the weekend. Karen was amazing with checkin, follow up to ensure we were in and settled (and make sure we had everything we needed). It was immaculately clean, beautifully decorated and made to feel warm and welcoming. We would love to go back again and highly recommend staying here, or at any of their getaways! We appreciated the opportunity to be there and feel very blessed and thankful

Great get away

My husband and I had been talking about a quick get away, then our AC broke and we found and stayed Karen and Kevin's wonderful cottage on the river. We biked, golfed, kayaked down the meandering river just outside the front door, with the provided kayaks. The cottage was cozy, clean, well equipped and we loved the hot tub and the hot tub room. Beautiful view. Wonderful get away - just what we needed. Thanks

Our stay at Be Still was absolutely delightful! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the serene atmosphere and stunning river view. Great way to decompress

The most peaceful Oasis- Be Still

My partner and I had the best time at Be still. The space was very inviting from the moment we parked our car. Karen really thought of everything, we were able to enjoy the quietness and were able to relax in a clean and quaint space. The hot tub was perfect! Long overdue weekend away

Would Go Back Again In An Instant

We had a fantastic time here. The space was exactly as the pictures and video show it. It was quiet, it was clean and had everything you would ever need. It was a great home base for some sight seeing in the surrounding communities and provided some much appreciated R&R. We loved the hot tub and the kayaks. The fire pit was filled with wood ready to be lit and even covered with plastic to try to keep it dry since there was some recent rain just before our arrival. The owner was quick to respond to inquiries we had before arrival. Thanks very much Karen!

Best looking showroom

Our overall stay was pleasant. The owner was very polite and quick to answer us. As mentioned in the title it was a beautiful looking showroom. It was fully equipped, but there was several notes to remind us that it was not to be touched. I unfortunately had a very bad allergic reaction. There were shag carpeting everywhere, Faux animal pillow and throw on there's everywhere. couch, with a bonus of a dead deer head. There was even a note telling us to take out the garage and exactly were to put our dirty towels. Got to admit was concerned how clean the towels and bedding were. The spa, as mentioned in a note that was left was in working condition, but once we started it the water was creamy. We were not comfortable using it. As mentioned there was a lot of notes everywhere, but we were disappointed no handbook on places to visit or things to do. There was no where cozy to sit and read. My final reason for not be fond of this place. There was a note saying that if we gave them a 5 star a gift would be mailed to us. Do not bribe me. You have me on site, take proper care of me noe. Don't make what sounds like empty promises.

Most relaxing trip

The property was nicer than some 5 star places I’ve stayed at. The property owners take great pride in their home and it shows. It has everything you need for a nice relaxing get away. The waterfront restaurant is a nice place for dinner and only a quick drive away, but the home has everything you need if you want to stay in and cook. Can’t wait to visit again or visit some of their other properties.

We especially enjoyed the hot tub and the firepit area. Comfortable and well appointed rooms. Cosy furniture. Good location as a base to visit Kingston and Prince Edward County. We visited some vineyards, cheesemakers, cideries, etc. The hosts provided several practical kitchen staples which made things easy for mealtimes.

The Perfect Escape

My husband and I recently celebrated my birthday at Be Still By The River, and we had the most wonderful time at this beautiful property. We were hoping for nice weather to enjoy time beside the river and in the surrounding communities, but it decided to rain almost the entire time we stayed. We did not begrudge this whatsoever, as we were able to take full advantage of the relaxing options on site! The hot tub was the perfect place to relax and enjoy listening to the rain on the roof of the enclosed deck. We enjoyed talking a walk around the property - it was muddy! - but the views were spectacular. The fire pit by the river was the definite highlight. While we couldn't have a fire during our stay, we were able to see so much wildlife and activity in the river. Spotting a beaver was the icing on the cake of a spectacular getaway. Karen is a gracious host, and was very responsive when we needed to touch base. You won't regret a moment of your stay at this property, and we can't wait to come back!

Staycation getaway!

My partner and I had a lovely time at this property and would book it again. We had opted for a short, kid free "staycation" and we greatly enjoyed the very comfortable amenities. The property is attached to another apartment/property, which shares the front porch and appears to share the firepit. We still felt that we had privacy, but we likely would have preferred to rent a place that was not attached to another residence/apartment, so it is worth being advised of that ahead of time. That said, we didn't have any interactions or reasons to feel bothered by the residents in the attached apartment. Otherwise the property was exactly what we had expected. The hot tub is quite a luxury, with plenty of privacy and easy access. Communication with the host was good and we knew if we needed assistance with anything they would be easily accessible. We did find that the property had a lot of rules and expectations for guests-- they were not particularly unreasonable rules/expectations, but it's something to keep in mind if you are considering booking the space and prefer a more easy/breezy atmosphere. We also live here part-time at the rear of the home but don't worry, we may not even meet unless you request otherwise. Your King Suite(main floor bungalow), hot tub room and outside amenities as shown are totally private to you. We are local business owners and know we have been blessed with great properties (We also have "Be Still on the Lake")and we'd love to share our little pieces of heaven with you. Our aim is to make sure you get to share in the solitude and serenity of the river (or perhaps the lakehouse at another time... )and we hope our hospitality shows through too! Enjoy!

Why they chose this property

Everyone may say they have a unique property....but we truly do! Located at Mink's bridge we have a little piece of history we like to share. Mink was the first African American slave to be set free in Eastern Ontario and he lived here at the bridge. If you'd like to know more about his family's story, we'd love to share it through some articles in the suite. So yes, we are unique in that nature but also in others....from the glass hot tub room(for grilling all year long....electric barbeque also in this room) , to the trails, the firepit on top of the old bridge, to a kayak down the river, there's lots to enjoy while you're here. Or as we have found out with previous guests....it's hard to get yourself out of the cozy suite existence. Something for everyone to enjoy.
