About this property
Harcourt on the Hill - Secluded 3BR Cottage w/ Sauna, Dock, Kayaks, Wi-Fi

Due to insurance restrictions, guests are not permitted to use the wood stove A supplemental information form must be completed.
Harcourt on the Hill isn't a property you come across very often. Situated in the exclusive Harcourt Park, guests have access to nearly 7000 acres of trails and 18 lakes to explore. Entry to the park is limited to owners and their guests, so it truly is a private experience.
There are 2 access points to the cottage, along enchanted woodland roads. Once past the gates, you will make your way past lakes, creeks and if you're lucky, might even spot a furry friend or two! At the top of the hill, you arrive at a beautiful wooden cottage, complete with matching waterfront sauna. Taking a chilly morning or evening dip in the lake, followed by a hot steam sounds idyllic, doesn't it?
Inside the well-appointed cottage, there is both a sense of nostalgia and modern comforts. A full kitchen with gorgeous views from the dining area allows lake watching even while preparing meals and enjoying time inside.
With plenty of room on the sectional couch and the new screened in cabana, you and your guests can lounge inside and out. The amazing spiraling wrought iron staircase adds to the rustic appeal. The narrow staircase may be challenging for the less agile and people with mobility issues. Please review photo of this staircase, to be sure you would be comfortable ascending and descending the stairs to the two upper bedrooms, both of which feature queen beds and lovely décor.
On the grounds, there are multiple levels to spread out from the deck, down to the fire pit, the lakeside Sauna and of course the brand-new dock. Everything flows from one area to the next, complementing the private space for you and your guests.
One of the features of this area is the canoeing and kayaking. While guests are not permitted to bring in boats (rentals or your own), this practice has ensured pristine lakes and shorelines, free of invasive species like the dreaded zebra muscles. Swimming is available from the dock and rock entry at the water's edge, leading to a quiet bay that opens up, just around the bend.
Take a short drive into Wilberforce or simply 20 minutes in either direction to Haliburton and Bancroft, there is lots to see and do. Fantastic dining, quaint shops and activities are available year-round with golf, skiing and you can take advantage of the watercraft available at the cottage and hike or portage throughout the park.
