Cynthia did a great job of communicating with us during our stay. The drive in to the rental property was a bit of a challenge but it got better after we knew where we were going.
We enjoyed our time at Cynthia’s. Her place was clean and comfortable, the screen porch was our favorite place to have coffee and hangout after a wonderful day at the beach. If you’re new to the island this will be a little tricky to find the first time but once you do you’ll have no problem.
Cynthia was easy to communicate with and quick to respond. Her place is VERY clean and comfortable. Our small family loved staying here. As she mentions, you need a jeep to stay here. The roads were fun and though the house is in the trees, we were super close to all the things we needed. The store was close and so was the dive shop. Thanks for letting us stay with you!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Eden Lounge. It was only a short drive to sites and restaurants, but was in a quiet residential area away from the hustle and bustle of Cruz Bay. We would stay again, but would definitely recommend having a raised 4WD vehicle like a jeep to drive on the roads leading to the property.
Was a perfect space for a couple. Quiet except for roosters in am and away from downtown. Property owner very helpful and accommodating. Definitely recommend renting a jeep while staying for ease of getting to it, beach hopping and shopping.

adorable little villa
We absolutely loved this cute little villa in a quiet neighborhood where we woke to the sound of the animals in the jungle every morning. The owner is as wonderful as her place and we will definitely stay again. Perfect for us with a little kitchen and a nice shower with a comfy bed and the screened in porch feels amazing as you sit and feel the breeze from the ocean.
My husband and I loved staying here for our trip to St. John! Cynthia is sweet and we felt right at home in the apartment. The kitchen is well stocked with everything we needed to cook with. The screened in porch was great to have our meals in. It was a very safe, quiet and perfectly comfortable place for us to stay on our first trip to St. John!
Cynthia's place was perfect for our family of 3! The place was a quick drive to Cruz Bay and it was easy to get to anywhere else on the island from there. The stocked kitchen allowed us to cook meals during our stay. She had beach chairs, towels, and sand toys that we could use, and was really helpful and rapid in communication. We spent the days hiking or at the beach, and enjoyed sitting in the evening on the screened in porch listening to the frogs. Looking forward to staying there again on our next trip!

Great Location!
My husband and I stayed at Edan Lounge for 5 days because we had friends getting married on the island. Edan Lounge met all of our needs and was in a great location for us! We were 10 minutes from downtown Cruz Bay and another 10 minutes up to the beaches (Trunk Bay, Hawksnest, etc.) and only 5 minutes from our friends staying on the island. We spent minimal time at the villa during the day and ate out most of the time, but the room was relaxing, clean and air conditioned. Plus, showers were always hot!
This is a great little spot if you don't want to spend a fortune and a perfect location if you have a rental to get around with. We would stay at Cynthia's again if we return to the island!

Budget Apartment
If you are looking for one of the least expensive accommodations on the island then this apartment might work for you. However, just remember that you get what you pay for. The highlights of this rental are the beautiful grounds that surround the property. The flowers, fruit trees and overall landscape is well maintained and creates a serene environment. Another highlight would be the new king size bed and air conditioner. There is also a new flat screen TV with cable, which is great if you are traveling with kids. On the flip side, there are some drawbacks to consider as well. For instance, being that the property owner lives right above the rental there is not much privacy. Blinds or roll up shades could easily solve this problem. Moreover, the property could use some maintenance. The screened in living room needs to be repaired, which would greatly help the insect problem. Another downside was the lack of a dresser or clean place to store clothing. There is a small utility room with a hanging shoe caddy and some hangers, however, the room was unorganized with a musky odor. Keeping the price in mind, we overall enjoyed our stay at Eden Lounge. This property has a lot of potential and would function much better with some maintenance and storage solutions. I would recommend this rental for a couple or small family on a very tight budget. The property is centrally located and only minutes from St. John's beautiful beaches and restaurants. However, if you are planning on a longer stay you may want to consider the pro and cons of budget accommodations.
Eden Lounge is a very nice studio apartment with a lovely attached screened-in patio. Given the high cost of rentals on St. John, it is an excellent option for the budget-minded traveler. The owner, Cynthia, is very accommodating, the location is central to everything on the island, and it has many good amenities.
This property was well-kept and clean. All amenities as advertised were available. Full kitchen with utensils made cooking my meals quite easy. The screen porch was quite comfortable.
Cynthia was very pleasant and helpful.
Overall it’s an excellent place to stay.
I’ll recommend a four/all wheel drive for your visit to St John.
This condo was a great place to stay. Had a fridge, oven, stove and microwave with drinkable tap water. Nice shower and bathroom and cozy bed! Loved the enclosed porch to listen to the birds singing at night. There were beach chairs to use as well! Such a great place to stay.
Nothing fancy, but everything one could need if your looking for a peaceful stay away from the crowds downtown. Not an ocean view location. Kitchen had everything we needed, eating out is an expensive waste on St John, better to fry your own plantain and grill some fish. Make certain you have a rental car with 4wd, the route to the house is a bit bumpy.
Awesome little studio! Do yourself a favor and stay here.
This was such a great place to stay. We stayed near the beach while on St. Thomas and wanted to stay in the jungle while on St John and this little place fit the bill perfectly. We didn't have too much trouble finding it luckily and our rental car managed the dirt road and driveway pretty good (though I wish we'd been able to rent a jeep since that would have made driving easier on the island as St. John's roads are insanely steep.)
The little dirt road to the property is a bit sketchy but don't worry, the property itself is lovely! It was actually nicer than we expected. The studio is compact, super clean, has a comfy king bed and futon, and a small but efficient kitchen with everything you need. Plenty of beach towels which we appreciated plus other beach gear which was great. The entire place is off-the-grid and so has drinkable, filtered water. My very favorite part of staying here was the screened in porch; we sat out there every single evening enjoying all the jungle sounds. The little frogs are quite loud from the porch (it's much quieter if you are inside the studio) and I loved it so much. They do stop at some point in the night for the most part. I went just outside the porch with a flashlight searching for them every night; I got rather good at finding them in the plants and enjoyed watching them sing. If you love frogs like I do, definitely do this, especially if you have kids with you. I found 18 frogs (sizes ranging from a teeny tiny 1/4" frog to one that was a few inches big and every size inbetween) one night just in the patch of bromeliads by the screen door. We saw deer in the yard every morning early and there are hens with chicks and at least one rooster running around (chickens are everywhere on the islands, it's hilarious.)
Cynthia is a lovely host. Parking in Cruz Bay is a nightmare for meals so she suggested Shambles which is just up the road on HWY 10, only about 5 minutes from the property. They have plenty of parking, great food, and a great atmosphere.
We had a great time on St. John and really enjoyed staying at Eden's Lounge Villa in the "jungle", highly recommend to anyone who is budget-minded who is looking for a private, clean, lovely little place to stay.
really a great home base if you don't need a ton of space or a party house. this apartment was everything we (31 years old, 33 years old, 4 years old, and 1 year old) needed and more. for the price of this rental we expected to have just a place to sleep and shower, and we would have been satisfied with that, but the apartment had beach towels, chairs, umbrellas, coffee, aloe, air conditioning, ice, a grill, drinkable water, and even blocks and beach toys. the amenities far exceeded our expectations, the property was immaculate, and cynthia was lovely. she gave us absolutely spot on directions to the house, which is in a pretty and peaceful neighborhood close to everything. highly recommend
Overall we had a great stay. We got lost trying to find the property. We had to ask a local who was able to take us there. Detailed directions Prior to the stay would be very helpful. The road leading to the property is run down but once you get the the property it’s great. We really enjoyed sleeping with the windows open listening to the jungle sounds- no need for the a/c. It’s a great economical option on St John which is an amazing place.
Cute little place, perfect for the two of us. Had all that we needed including beach chairs, beach towels and noodles to float with. The home is centrally located so we were never more than 20 minutes from our destination and we went all over the island. Highly recommend if you are looking for a place to relax after a long day at the beach. Thank you for the wonderful stay Cynthia! We hope to be back soon.
This is our 2nd time staying at Cynthia's Eden Lounge. We just love it. Cynthia is a wonderful host. Her house is clean, well stocked, has a fantastic screened in porch which we just love. Cynthia gives great advice on places to visit on the island and is very friendly. We highly recommend staying here for your trip to St. John!
Cynthia was an excellent host. The screened in porch was awesome at night you could hear the frogs and wildlife from the jungle. There were beach chairs, noodles, coolers, and everything you needed in the shed !
Wonderful little place. Close to town. The screened in porch was the best. We had a peaceful week long stay. Affordable place with everything you need!
