Overrated Stay Away

Given the reviews, we expected much better. From using the dirty bathroom in the lobby to water backing up in the bathtub and staff hanging around outside instead of attending to customers inside looking for help.

This hotel absolutely does not merit the rating it shows online. It was dirty, rusty and service was terrible. They gave one soap for a 4 night stay, did not replenish toilet paper without being asked to, left piles of dirty sheets, wet towels and garbage in the hallway for days… when we checked out early in the morning the person at the front desk was fast asleep and snoring. We would never return and would never recommend anyone stay here.

The hotel is steeped original charm while having been kept nicely updated with modern facilities. The hotel boasts a beautiful dining room and lounge. Easy walking to the hot spots and great restaurants.

The hotel is an older facility. Our room was a little run down - bathroom could use a little more scrubbing and one of the curtains had a large tear in it that looks like it's been there a while. The room faced the street so the trolley car was a little noisy and runs 24/7 and the lack of a small fridge was a bit of a surprise. Our TV remote stopped working and the hotel was very quick to send someone up to deal with it which was nice. The room itself was clean and the bed was very comfortable The staff were friendly and accommodating. The hotel is located a short walking distance from the French Quarter which was very handy. Aside from the comments above I wouldn't have a problem staying here again.
