Newer units. Nice layout. Very pleasant owners at checkin. Most hotels in Nelson seem to be on a busy road or under the airport flight path, so this was as quiet as any of them. Parking was available and easy.

Good location, comfortable suite

It started out with a misunderstanding regarding the definition of a “king” size bed. Theirs, not mine 😉. However, it was quickly resolved and we were moved to an upgraded suite with spa bath. A lovely treat after 2 weeks travel. Thank you to the management. The bedroom was separate from the tv room and kitchenette. It also had a patio with table and chairs to relax and enjoy a beverage or two. The hotel looks fairly new and was convenient to a beach, restaurants and local sites.

The Perfect Motel

From Check in to Check out - 4 nights the owner "George" was very pleasant, calm and did not want to discus payment until check-out. Short drive to the City Centre; but 10 minutes walk to "The Beach" - Amazing. We loved Nelson's Character and "Tanunanui Beach". The room had lots of room, super clean and everything we needed to make a great coffee in the Morning. We were 1 month on the North Island and Nelson was our first stop on the South Island. Our Stay at The Beaches really set this part of our South Island journey (4 weeks) off in unexpected style. Thanks you George for just being you!

outstanding clean hotel

Very clean self sufficient deluxe studio room with jacuzzi tub and shower. Lots of room with balcony. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would stay at this hotel again.
