Sleeps 30 - Grand Country House, Indoor Pool & Hot Tub

Approaching Milton House along the private driveway, from the moment you arrive you will feel right at home.

The impressive dining room seats 20, so everyone can dine together in style. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you will need to prepare and enjoy a fantastic meal, whether you decide to cook it yourself or bring in a professional chef.

The large drawing room provides enough space for everyone and is the perfect spot to get together and enjoy a drink in the company of good friends. The patio doors open to reveal impressive views of the gardens and grounds. The conservatory also has doors out onto the patio and is a great place to sit and enjoy the gardens. Leading on from the conservatory, you will find a fantastic heated indoor pool and hot tub.

There is also a cosy snug, furnished with a TV and comfy seating for when you want to put your feet up and enjoy some downtime.

Milton House has a total of 10 fantastic bedrooms, six bathrooms and a downstairs loo. All bedding, linen and towels are provided. Our games room has a snooker table, table tennis, darts board and movie area.

Outside, we have wonderful gardens to explore, complete with a barbecue area, and interconnected lakes which attract all kinds of wildlife.

Being close to the the Twinwoods Adventure Park which offers indoor skydiving and surfing, as well as Bedford town centre, there is plenty to do in the local area! Bedford has a wonderful river to walk along as well as many great pubs, restaurants and shops.

Bedford train station is on a direct line to London Bridge and Kings Cross St Pancras. With great links to the M1 and A1 and plenty of parking; getting to Milton House is a breeze.

Wonderful house

Very large and beautiful house, comfortably slept our group of 30. Indoor swimming pool is excellent and grounds extremely spacious with beautiful lakes. Would definitely recommend.

Perfect Property for our Family Celebration

With 16 adults and 3 children, ranging in age from 2years old to 70years old, this was the perfect house for all of us. It was incredibly well equipped, with everything we needed in the kitchen to a whole range of games for indoors and outdoors to beautiful gardens and grounds to a fantastic pool and hot tub. Entertaining was made very easy with a fabulous dining room, huge living room and a fun conservatory. From the outset the communication with Group Retreats was friendly, timely and very informative. We absolutely loved our long weekend in Milton House.

Lovely place to stay and relax. Amazing grounds with heated pool and jacuzzi.

Unfortunately the code to the gate to the property was not emailed to us before we arrived and we had to contact the manager for the code and that was very frustrating and time consuming as there was no answer. The lights in the conservatory and by the pool were also not working during our stay. Overall a great place but shame about those minor issues.

Met our Family Needs

Apart from the beds, which were uncomfortable for many of us, especially as they were two beds pushed together, and, the cleanliness of the bathrooms, especially the toilets, the whole facility was amazing. We will re-book for another family reunion and possibly as a wedding venue !

70s Birthday Celebration

Overall, a very enjoyable visit, all our requirements catered for, a wonderful family reunion. However, I must point out that I felt the house was a little tired in areas, especially carpets etc, there were also some bedrooms with no facilities for the hanging of cloths etc. Despite a couple of hiccups, a most enjoyable long weekend, would we return, definitely. Completely outdid expectations

This house and grounds is literally the best place we've ever stayed. Enormous rooms, masses of space, great cooking facilities and the aga, loads of room for us all to roam around in. And the pool was fantastic, and the hot tub. And having all those gardens to play in, with the lakes, the orchard, the hills to roll down, and of course the games room. It was just wonderful, we didn't have to leave. We did do one pub lunch which we found on the list of recommendations and it was really good. I can't recommend this wonderful house more!

Beautiful house, perfectly equipped, stunning gardens.

Milton House is a stunning, very spacious, gorgeously furnished, place. The kitchen is amazingly well equipped, the beds very comfortable, the pool temperature just perfect, and the grounds quite magical. All 18 of us were utterly blown away by the place.

Lovely spacious property

We used the property for an Executive offsite and I would definitely use it again. Such a well stocked kitchen in terms of crockery, cutlery and everything I needed for the group. Rooms and living areas comfy and homely. We were there to work so the pool and grounds were not taken to their full advantage but are beautifully kept by a very friendly and helpful caretaker. Small issue with heating was quickly responded to and dealt with. Pre-communication from Group Retreats couldn't be faulted either. Games room a lovely addition. Might be back with family and friends so I can really enjoy it!

A great family weekend

Twenty-six of us (including eight children under ten) gathered for a weekend to get to spend time with all the members of our extended family. We looked at the family 'archive'; we played silly games; we ate a lot; and swam a great many times. We also spent a day at Bletchley Park where our mother/grandmother/great-grandmother had been during WW2. The accommodation was perfect with comfortable bedrooms, lots of space for children to enjoy, and the huge benefit of two kitchens. We stayed during Storm Dennis so we couldn't make much use of the outside, but the pool more than made up for this. The final climax to our visit was a swimming 'talent show' involving all eight second cousins. Martin replied to any questions beforehand extremely promptly and Ross, the caretaker, was very helpful. The biscuits and fizz left for us was a lovely, generous bonus. We all had a brilliant time which was really made perfect by the wonderful accommodation.

60th Birthday Celebration

We stayed 3 nights for my 60th birthday celebration. We had 21 guests aged 1 year to 60 years. Milton House was perfect for our occasion. Everything was just as we hoped. The place is very large but we didn’t feel cold at all despite it being January, we didn’t even need to use the log fires and in fact we had to turn the heating down, even around the pool wasn’t cold. The place was well stocked with everything we needed and we were all able to sit around the dining table for sit down meals. The grounds are amazing and 2 of my guests went on the lake in the boat. The caretaker Ross met us on arrival and quickly showed us around, we had a slight issue initially which he promptly sorted. Milton House was easy to find thanks to the photos that Martin (the manager) had sent us. Everyone loved the experience and have asked for us to book it again.

Fabulous weekend at Milton House

Brilliant from start to finish! The booking process and communication were excellent, the property exceeded our expectations and it was the perfect venue to celebrate a special birthday with family and friends. We can also highly recommend Don & Emma at Bellini's Italian restaurant who catered for our evening meal on the Saturday night. Thank you, we hope to be back again in the future...

Great stay in the perfect property

Milton House comfortably housed 21 of us for a joint 30th birthday weekend. The property was huge which meant everyone had adequate space and didn't get under anyone's toes. The rooms were huge, the grounds beautiful, kitchen well stocked, and pool ideal (little bit cool but if you stay active it's grand). The regal reception room was perfect for our Regency themed murder mystery. Martin gave clear instructions to find and stay in Milton House which made the entire trip uneventful and easy. Thank you for having us!

Wonderful facilities for a Family gathering

Milton House provides everything you require to have an enjoyable experience. On arrival the younger grandchildren ran excitedly around the house choosing bedrooms for themselves and the other guests. More excitement when they found the "secret tower "! All the rooms are spacious and furnished to a very high standard. The main kitchen is large and very functional. Plenty of fridge space for food and wine etc. The dining room with its large dining table was perfect for our family meals. The drawing room , with the piano was very popular. Everyone commented on how comfortable the beds and mattresses were. (Please let me know the make of the pillows - they were so good!) Then of course - the pool and hot tub. Great success with all the family. The grounds are large and make for a wonderful walk around the lakes. The Games Room was a great success and well used. Full size snooker table, table tennis and darts. The tennis court was ok but the balls were rather old and didn't bounce much! I introduced a local rule that you were allowed more than 1 bounce! To summarise, it would be hard to find somewhere better for a family gathering than Milton House.
